Clean Campground but more a local fishing spot. High input of traffic coming in and out of campground during Salmon run not really advisable for anything longer than 36 feet but you can do it if need be. No water or dump. I think its a little high for what you get would probably pass it up next time. - monaco cruiser
Jul 2017 - $25.00
We arrived without reservations and were given site #3 which had just been canceled by another camper. The staff/owners were very nice. I was a little worried when the quiet hours began at 11pm and this did not seem to be firm.
There was a group camp next to us. I would guess there were between 11-15 young adults in this one space. At 1 am, we couldn't take the noise (yelling, cursing, etc.) and left the campground. There were no facilities in this campground.
Most people seemed to like it for the nearby fishing. It was catch and release while we were there. This campground may be quiet in the off season. Unfortunately we arrived on a holiday weekend and it was not quiet. - traskinalaska17
Sep 2016 - $35.00
Very quiet and close to the river for fishing. Sites awkward for large rigs to maneuver in and out. - DNBrown74
Aug 2016 - $35.00
We loved the setting and the hiking as well across the highway. However, we felt like the minority as we were the only ones not fishing. The one big drawback was noise. Try to get a spot away from highway to avoid road noise. We were there on a weekend and people were racing through the campground until 11pm. - CaliKim
Jul 2018 - $36.00
This is a typical Alaskan CG since it's on gravel, but nice level sites. We stayed here while visiting the Talkeetna area. Host was very nice and worked constantly around the CG. We would stay here again. - Long Long Trailor
Jul 2017 - $40.00
We stayed here twice during our trip to Alaska. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They have full hook ups, very nice facilities and the sweetest dog to greet you when you arrive. The inside lots are gravel and right next to each other but it is always very quiet. The outside lots are more wooded. Great for big rigs. - traskinalaska17

Not sure how previous reviewers could give this a 9 or 10. What rating would they give if you had paved roads and site pads and cable TV????
The gravel is some big and some small pieces - hard to walk on. My site was at most 18 ft. wide. They are all really back ins, but when not busy (our case) they let the center row become pull thrus. Each site is about ft long, so plenty of length. However they said when a caravan comes in they use everything as backins. - twindman
Jul 2018 - $48.00
Nice park next to the downtown area. Utilities worked well. No cable and no OTA. Few 50amp sites and they are not as good as the 30amp pull thrus. Some sites are a bit strange in the way they are laid out but it seems to work. You are near the tracks but not a lot of trains at night. We did have an issue with noisy parties over the weekend as locals show up and party told park management about the issue not sure if they started policing afterwards. - sheltieRV
Jul 2018 - $48.00
The electric outlet is upside-down so you cannot use your surge protector. Sites are short and fairly close together. This park sits LITERALLY right next to active train tracks. Not only do you hear the frequent sounding of the train horn, but you also feel the vibration. Shower costs $2 for 4 minutes. - Cyberhag
Aug 2017 - $40.00
One night. Close to everything ... but then, Talkeetna is a VERY small town. Convenient to RR, only a few trains, so not a noise factor. Spaces were designed for small Class C RV's. We only pull an 18' TT and had to disconnect. Only the trailer fit the spot. Very busy, reservations HIGHLY recommended. Would stay again, as we did last year. - Nevada Nick
Jun 2018 - $40.00
Set with our backend up against the road and train tracks. Not a place for light sleepers as the "freight " trains run at night. Did enjoy the trains during the day and even took the Hurricane work train one of those days. Rest rooms and showers very clean, liked the fact that there was plenty of room and a stool to use in the room. Only two washers and dryers (no room for any more) so if lots of people doing laundry, there could be quite the wait. Good for a couple nights stay. - Never Lost
Jul 2017 - $25.00
Stayed here 10 years ago and had a relatively pleasant experience. Now, in July of 2017, it appears ZERO maintenance has been done on the campground and little is done other than collecting fees! It has been overtaken by Devil's Club and other weeds, the outhouses are rickety and toilet paper is hit or miss. Picnic tables are broken down, fire rings are a mess, etc. It's a shame, because with routine maintenance this could be a respectable campground. As it is, it appears that the owners don't put a single penny back into the place. Unfortunately, it's the only "game in town" so they get away with this sorry lack of attention. Lots offer some shade. Site surface is dirt and features a picnic table. - Colorado Craig
Jul 2017 - $25.00
We spent two nights here right beside the Talkeetna River. Nice spot, but that's the only pro. This is dry camping only with no hookups and no dump. This campground has no rules and many campers really abuse that. Lots of folks with ATVs running around stirring up lots of dust and noise. Little kids out playing and making noise like little kids do at midnight. Running noisy generators at 10:30 PM. Very bumpy and dusty roads that some campers seem to want to see how fast they can travel them, stirring up dust. Some loud parties blaring music. There are some nice campsites and this could be a very nice campground if the owner took a bit more interest. It was pretty full, but there is not a lot of choice since there are only a couple of campgrounds in Talkeetna and it is a very popular tourist destination these days. $25.00 a night for dry camping is a bit steep, especially when considering all the negatives. Would we stay here again? Maybe. - bfisher003
Jun 2018 - $36.00
Stayed here for 5 nights to visit Talkeenta. Our site was full hookups. Site was shared by shrubs and trees which provided extra coverage from the Alaska midnight sun. That was a nice bonus. Laundry room was clean and easy to access. Store had coffee, milkshakes and other food to eat. Gas was reasonable priced. - SotoL-L
Jun 2018 - $35.00
The owner is a great guy; won't find a nicer guy! Sites are smallish and very close to the highway. Great Verizon service and awesome laundry! Full hookups for $35 is a smoking deal in in Alaska. A short trip to Talkeetna and Denali, I'd stay here again. - Uncle Billy
Jun 2018 - $40.00
LOVED this place. Everyone was friendly. Owner went out of her way to introduce herself when I mentioned we were looking to buy a home in the area. Yummy hamburgers. Air strip in back was great for letting our big dog run loose for a little while. Buggy so wear your dope. Laundry with quite a few machines. Trees between each site. Quiet..... a sweet stop. - HGJ
Aug 2016 - $28.00
Fantastic campground. It's primarily used by locals to fish the Susitna and Kantishna rivers so it's quiet during the week and busier on the weekend. They don't take reservations but, again, it's quiet during the week. The sites are huge with very easy access. Electric is available in one loop and some of the sites near the river. Another loop is primitive. Campground managers are very accommodating. - Nodaker
Jun 2016 - $16.00
This is a true gem, thanks to the operators and Alaska fish and game. The cleanest pit toilets I've ever seen. And the campground is beautiful. Wonderful, caring operator. - Sherr
Jun 2011 - $16.00
This park has been recently refurbished. Wide, level, gravel sites with picnic table and fire pit in either full sun or shade. Half the sites have 30A electric available (for $30/nt). Boat launch. Nice manager and staff. Small convenience store. No water or dump available, so arrive with full water and empty holding tanks. Wish they sold fishing licenses here. Very relaxing. We would stay here again. They do take reservations - which would be necessary during the height of fishing season. - JCMDT
