Overall Rating:

This park is a great value in a beautiful setting, surrounded by mountain views and tall trees. If you visit during a time that is less busy and have a choice of sites, I would say that the 1oo and 200 numbered rows offer the best views of the mountains. Locate your sewer before pulling completely in. This will allow you to maximize your patio area which is somewhat limited due to the slope. As you go up the terraced slope, more trees block the views a bit. We booked our July visit the first week in January the day the reservation window opened. We had to take whatever site was available during this busiest month. So worth it! Take any site you can, this is a great experience. The tunnel mountain hike is a unique experience with great views of both sides of the mt. Keep going until you see the red chairs, which are placed throughout parks at great viewpoints. Worried about leaving our dog in our MH all day while visiting Lake Louise, brought her along and found that dogs aren't allowed on the shuttle bus. We were told to go up to the lot by the chalet to wait for a spot. Be there before 8 AM for parking near the lake. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here in July and had an incredible time. Wish we could have stayed a lot longer. Only downside is there are no laundry facilities in the park, but there is a laundry place very close by. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This park is in tiers, I think eight levels. Camping on both sides of the road which are gravel pull throughs. Lots of shade and grass. There is also a picnic table. The sites are very spacious and they have it so a site on one side is in between the closest ones across the road, which makes it more private. There really are no amenities other than near the entrance there is a bus stop for the shuttles back and forth to Banff National Park. There is a charge for this service and is different depending where you are going. Banff Park is literally breathtakingly beautiful!!! Since most people stay there to go to the park it supplies what they need. The town of Banff is a very unique, we enjoyed visiting there. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a national park so lots of people want to come in. Acknowledging this, the sites are reasonably sized. Overflow is at the top and bottom of the cg. If you end up with no reserved site try to get an overflow at the bottom. Beautiful mountain view’s. Convenient to everything. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A huge place, 850 sites, adjacent to another large campground without full hookups. Check in is a bit slow and the line can be a bit long. You'll need a Canada National Parks Pass to stay here. The sites are not your traditional pull thrus, with sites carved out of the sides of the road on both sides. About eight narrow asphalt streets, each a half mile long, and tiered. A little effort on some sites to get positioned, but in general no problem even for the largest motorhome with toads. Forested but not so thick that you feel you're in a forest. Some sites are satellite friendly. No WiFi, cable or OTA. Shuttle bus to town as parking there is often difficult. Utilities worked fine. 30 amp service only. Restrooms are plentiful and clean. Spectacular setting. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Motorhome.

All sites 30/15 amp with water and sewer. Paved roads with gravel pull offs and lots of room. No overhanging trees but iffy satellite reception. Cell phones work fine. About a mile walk down the mountain to the townsite. Take the bus back if you don't like climbing hills. Fires not allowed. Very quiet. Overall Rating:

This campground offers full hookups. All of the sites are pull through loops off of the roadside with little privacy. The campground sites are level and easy to get into. There isn’t a lot of room on the door side of your RV since the entire campground is terraced. The campground is kept very clean and is patrolled on a regular basis by park wardens. It is in a perfect spot to enjoy Banff with bus service to and from the town. Reservations are definitely recommended since even in early June, there were campers in the overflow areas every night. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

If you like to hike, highly recommend hiking in the Moraine Lake (Valley of the Ten Peaks) and Lake Louise (Lake Agnes Tea House Trail) areas. They are 75 minutes north. We enjoyed using our kayaks in the Two Jacks Lake. The IGA in Banff is great for supplies.

Overall Rating:

We were surprised to see how busy this park was for September. We were fortunate to get one of the last sites out of over 1000. Our site was a double site that shared full services from a single pedestal. As a result we had to back into the site which put our door on the road side and our service outlets opposite the pedestal. We did make this arrangement work. There was no TV but we could pick up one radio station. Our cell service was OK. Each row in this campground contains a heated bathhouse with showers, toilets, and sinks. Ours was very clean. This campground is on the edge of Banff town site. Campers are able to ride a free shuttle bus from the registration building to the town site. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Banff has many attraction depending on your interests such as guided tours, hiking, shopping, eating, drinking, and specialized attractions. The natural hot are relaxing and a visit to Bow Falls is interesting. Parking is limited so be prepared to walk from your parking lot to your destination.

One of the few places to camp with a larger rig. Our site was not level which is common, so be prepared to do some leveling - had to raise the front up about 6 inches. Power was good. Fairly quiet for so many campsites. You are surrounded by mountains so walks through the park are usually pretty. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Motorhome.

Interesting layout. The sites are roadside and easy enough to get in and out of. Not a lot of space for a front years. Picnic tables include a place for bbq which is convenient. Some sites are shared by two campers (not sure I would like that!). Beautiful area and an good place to stay. Needs a different name though lol. We spent two weeks here exploring the Banff area. It's a decent campground in an amazing area with full hookups at a reasonable rate, but the campground itself is nothing special. Gravel pull throughs with almost all the side yards being on a hill, so very limited use ability. A huge turnover, so expect neighbors to be coming and going on almost a daily basis. We'll be back, but only because of the area and full hookups. Don't expect satellite service from almost anywhere in the park due to trees, but we did spend a few nights in site 146 and were surprised that we could lock on to the satellites. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Motorhome.

For a National Park Campground, this place gets a 10. The campground in huge, but there are plenty of trees to make you feel like you are in a smaller campground. All the roads are nicely paved and the sites are gravel. Many sites look perfectly level, some maybe about 1" drop to one side, so easy to get level. Hook ups are centered at the site. The sites are plenty long. We are 62' with the jeep hooked up and still had about 30 feet of space. There are decent hiking/biking trails right from the campground to take the kids or dogs on. Some sites will have sattelite reception. Great views and close to town. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great cycling in the area right from the campground. Take Tunnel mountain road East out of the campground to Banff Ave and pick up the Legacy trail. Ride to Canmore or hang a left at the first trail intersection and this will take you over to the Lake Minnewanka area. Great road loop there. Pick up Vermillon Lakes Road. The Legacy trail starts at the end of this road. Navigate to 1A and enjoy some beautiful road biking.

We have just completed a tour of BC and Alberta, staying in 7 campgrounds over 11 nights. Our longest stay was in Banff, in the Trailer Court campground in our 10 metre RV. It was our favourite campground of the 7, with a lovely situation amongst the mountains, far enough above the town to feel as if you were in the wild but close enough to visit it very easily, even in a big camper. The pitches were large and well spaced and the facilities excellent. The lack of wi-fi was the only real downside. We camped at Tunnel Mountain Trailer Court Campground in a Motorhome.
