Overall Rating:

This could be a fine stay if your expectations are realistic. It is a rustic park, not a luxury resort. The park has very few 30 amp, water, or sewer sites. We were told on the phone and again upon arrival that it was 20 amps and would run everything except AC. Electric service was no more than 108 volts and 7 or 8 amps. Low voltage either shuts down your system or blows it. We could not run anything but lights. We dry camped for $38/night. WiFi is $10/day. Showers are $2 for 4 minutes. But the sites are all pull through and mostly level gravel. The setting is forested, but trees are not in the way of parking. There is a restaurant, convenience store, gift shop, and fuel pumps. Fuel is no higher than surrounding areas. We camped at David Thompson Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Two hours to Banff National Park and two hours to Jasper National Park. Twenty minutes to the closest town of Nordegg, Alberta. Nordegg consists of a hotel and a restaurant. Scenery in the area is spectacular, but it is an isolated location.

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $38.00
Overall Rating:

This was a campground attached to a "resort." Motel, gift shop, restaurant, convenience store, gas station. We had a LONG pull-through with water and electricity. All sites situated in pine forest that made a nice setting. Bathrooms adequate. Could use updating. Personnel all very nice. Spent lots of time driving to Lake Louise and Banff.

Checked out some of the provincial campgrounds in area and we would have hard time fitting in most with 28 ft travel trailer pulled by extended cab truck. Plus most looked like dry camping. Internet available in office for charge. No cell service with Verizon. We camped at David Thompson Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Attractions in Banff and Lake Louise very crowded. Turned away twice at Lake Morraine because of lack of parking. The gondola ride in Banff offered spectacular views but our wait was about and hour and a half. Scenery in and around the area is magnificent.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful multi-level campground analogous to a US Forest Service campground, but with full hookups. They advertised free Wi-Fi and on-site restaurant, but Wi-Fi was extra cost and only available in motel, and restaurant was unbelievably expensive. We stayed there 3 nights thinking it was most convenient to visiting both Banff and Jasper, but we know better now and probably would not stay there again. We camped at David Thompson Resort in a Motorhome.
