This is a very interesting park. As the name implies, they hold a "Barn Dance" here every weekend. We arrived Saturday night late, and the gal that checked in is was 'hosting' the dance being held in the top floor of the big red barn. I pressed the bell near the 'office' and she literally came running out to help me, all dolled up in western garb including 'cowgirl' boots. Staff was amazing. Space was gravel, not too near neighbors. Good power, no Wifi. Cell service was good for us. It is about four miles north of the town of Hill Springs (population 162). Rate is US dollars (as per Campground Reviews instructions)We enjoyed the stay and would definitely stay here again. We camped at Great Canadian Barn Dance in a Motorhome.

Water & Electric at sites, dump station available. Sites are grass and fairly level. We oped for the buffet dinner and music show, $77 for 2 and thoroughly enjoyed both. Our view of the Rockies was somewhat obscured due to smoke from the forest fires in British Columbia. About 30 miles to fuel station or to Waterton Lakes National Park. Waterton is very scenic and is a continuation of Glacier National Park. Restrooms are clean but older. We camped at Great Canadian Barn Dance in a Travel Trailer.

Price is in Canadian money and includes a buffet dinner and musical show. Office personnel was very helpful and courteous. You camp on grass and the view is spectacular. We really enjoyed the buffet and show. We camped at Great Canadian Barn Dance in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We took a day trip to Waterton Lakes which is the Canadian side of Glacier National Park. Be sure to stop at the Prince of Wales Hotel. We also went to Head Smashed-In Buffalo Jump. Both were excellent. Difficult to find fuel so fill up when you can. Closest fuel is 30 miles away but there is a super Walmart there.

A fun place to stay, the live music was very entertaining and the food was fantastic! The hosts are very welcoming. Close enough to Waterton lakes park for a day trip and the carriage museum in Cardston is a must see as well. We will definitely be back again. Close enough you can see the rockies from there. We camped at Great Canadian Barn Dance in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice, family run campground that is a little out of the way unless you search it out. You have great views of the mountains and farm countryside. Sites are grass, reasonably level, and about 60' long with perhaps 12' between RVs. Sites are 30A with water and there is a dump site available. I didn't see any 50A sites although their web site says they have some. I was able to get a weak Verizon signal on my mifi. There's no shade so all sites are good for satellite. If you are there on a Friday night, they serve a very good dinner and put on a musical show (for extra cost of course). Make sure you have a reservation if you want the dinner & show. Bathroom was clean and shower worked but it was a very small stall. We camped at Great Canadian Barn Dance in a Fifth Wheel.

The owners are wonderful. Friendly, helpful, funny, and just terrific people who make you feel at home. The sites do not have sewer but there's a dump site available or "honey wagon services". We would love to come back and stay here again. The show, dance, and meals are all top notch. We camped at Great Canadian Barn Dance in a Fifth Wheel.

See their show on Friday after having the dinner. Go to the Barn Dance Saturday night and have the breakfast on Sunday morning. The Kunkel's are terrific musicians and will keep you well entertained.

Fantastic campground! Lovely views and very helpful and pleasant staff. Helped us park so we could make the most of the magnificent views. Plenty of space on grassed sites. Good 30amp electric and water. Sewer dump station on site. Wi-Fi in office area only, but very good overall. 2 local channels on TV. Nice location for visiting Waterton Lakes NP. Would definitely recommend this campground if you like peace and quiet away from everything. Nearest shopping is Cardston about 45 mins away. We did not stay over the weekend, but they do have barn dances and meals at weekends, which we heard were excellent. Would stay here again. We camped at Great Canadian Barn Dance in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is family-run in a rural setting, accessible on paved roads. They serve a roast beef dinner each Fri. and Sat. night and also offer barn dance lessons and other musical events. The campsites are set around a pond. Canoes are available to use. Toilet and shower facilities are available on the main side of the grounds but not the far side. Beautifully framed by the Canadian Rockies and an hour away from Waterton National Park. We camped at Great Canadian Barn Dance in a Motorhome.

Camp sites are around a small pond that you can use the campground's canoes to paddle around. Entertainment on some nights, dinner & entertainment (19.50), or dinner (12.50)& barn dance (10.00), or just go to the barn dance (Sat only). Very family oriented as there is no alcohol at the dinner, entertainment or barn dance. If you stay here you will want to take in some of the entertainment! A good time! Very friendly family run. They also do the great roast beef all-you-can-eat meal, and provide the entertainment. A talented bunch. Passport discount accepted Sun-Thurs. We camped at Great Canadian Barn Dance in a Fifth Wheel.

There is a small lake and boats are available. The draw of this place is the roast beef dinner with entertainment and a dance with live music every weekend. There are also special events held throughout the year. (i.e. music festivals, bluegrass festival etc.) We camped at Great Canadian Barn Dance in a Motorhome.
