2 RV Parks near Westlock, Alberta
Aug 2018 - $25.00
Rate shown is for a full hookup site; electric and water sites are $2 CAD less. The campground is located next to a baseball field and a sports complex called the Rotary Spirit Centre. There are 21 sites on either side of a road with half the sites in the trees and the other half out in the open. Also approximately half the sites are full hookups and half have electric and water. It appeared that many of the sites were occupied by long term residents. Registration is either at the Spirit Centre office or self registration. There were only a couple of sites left when we arrived and the one we chose had full hookups. We were fortunate to get a site and would recommend calling the park to confirm sites are available. Our site was a gravel back-in in the trees that sloped down on one side. At least we had some privacy, more so than those out in the open. The open sites across from us looked to be closer together as well. Most of the sites in the trees would probably only take smaller units less than 30 ft long. The hookups were all in the rear corner. The sewer required an extra extension. All the utilities worked fine. There was a table and a large standing fire grill on site. There was a garbage bin between sites 3 and 4. The dump station was near the entrance. Nearby is the shower house. No OTA TV or Wi-Fi at the site. When I registered at the office, I noticed an open Wi-Fi connection was available there. This campground was a convenient one night stay. - Onemoretrail

Yes, it is out of the way, but if you do not mind that (and we didn't), then you get a spacious and very clean camp site. The whole setup with the little lake is very pretty, and the owner was very helpful and friendly. We had a little problem leveling our RV because the ground was too soft, but the owner noticed us struggling and came over with some wooden plates which took care of the issue. All in all, a very pleasant experience. - Wolfgang Leitermann

This is one out of the way place. We must have driven down about 5 or 6 roads to get here. So I was surprised to see it had a Good Sam affiliation. Although there were plenty of full hookup sites it was fairly rough looking. Most of the pads were very unlevel. Our campground host gave us the most level site (a pull-through), but it still wasn't that level. Most sites are back-ins. Our site was very long and would fit any size rig. It included a picnic table and fire ring. The utilities all worked fine, although the sewer outlet was on an awkward angle. All the sites were fairly open, so no problem with satellite TV. No cable TV, but we did pick up 5 or 6 OTA channels from Edmonton. No Wi-Fi access to be found. There was a pond nearby with some Canada Geese. Most of the other RVs appeared to be permanent or seasonal. Due to its remote location it is more likely that if ever in the area again we would probably consider the campgrounds over near Alberta Beach next time. - Onemoretrail
