Huge cockroaches in bathroom. Cold pool although advertised 80 degree heated pool. Slow drainage in showers. Friendly people though! - yakette1
Feb 2018 - $25.00
Park is located along the frontage road of I-19 so there is some road noise. The sites are gravel with a concrete patio. Trees and bushes made parking to accommodate doors and slides tricky. Full hookups but only 30 amp service. WIFI was excellent. Cable TV included. Laundry machines were new and worked well. - MkvCjv
Feb 2016 - $25.00
This park is a mixed bag--the staff are nice, the laundry room is small but clean and affordable, there is a pet walk area behind the park. There are a lot of permanent residents but most rigs are respectable-looking. Overall, the maintenance is poor, the sites are too close together and there is a fair amount of traffic noise. I would probably stay here again for a day or two but would not make it a destination. The price reflects a Passport America discount on my first day of three. - mockturtle

Stayed in the off season. Pool and hot tub closed and area under construction. Large lots. Easy to back into. Staff very friendly and helpful. Opened access to water for hook up and encountered ants. Patio by my steps covered in ants too. Despite using spray and diatomatous earth I am still working on getting ants out of my rv. Otherwise a good place. - tnwave314
Feb 2019 - $42.00
This park is very nice for all the reasons stated by other reviewers. Sites are both wide enough and long enough for comfort; although our patio/living area is bounded by the neighbor's discharge hose and sewer connection. The water hook-up was ground recessed on the patio (passenger) side, making it awkward. Otherwise, everything worked. Good wi-fi and Verizon service. We were next to the I-19 frontage road and the noise seemed pretty loud, but, like trains, one gets used to it. I'd recommend reservations for stays of more than a few days. Plenty to do in the area. Close to Tucson for anything major. I would love to stay at DeAnza again. - Brown Newf
Apr 2018 - $30.00
Price shown reflects the weekly rate for a back-in site. Generally a very nice park with good facilities. There is a big clubhouse with an onsite restaurant open on weekends. We didn't eat there but heard only good things about it. The whole place looked clean and well kept. We had a back-in site that was easy to get into and out. It had some shade at the back and a good view out front. My complaint about it is the hookups. The water hookup is on the wrong side - better have a long hose. The sewer hookup was in the right place, but in a hole too deep to be able to properly connect a standard 90-degree fitting. It looked like the pull-through sites were better arranged. They are larger than the back-ins but have no shade. We had good Verizon cell and internet service there. Despite the complaints, It is overall a good park and I would go back again. - JA1800

Chose this park to be near birding trail. I loved the place and the hosts were terrific. I hiked the train and birded all morning. Then came home and showered and birded right out my window. Yes it's a farm setting but so peaceful. Town close by with lots of shops and restaurants. We opted to stay home and grill. I will be back. - tnwave314
Feb 2019 - $30.00
Renamed Sunflower, but old name is still on maps. Real good people and great relaxing quiet, this is a terrific place. If you care more about lighting, paving, or similarity to a thousand other campgrounds, forget it. Not all sites have power, and not all have 50 amp-some are 30. Ask when registering. I personally loved it and will return. Arrived in time to attend the February Tubac art festival, saw a number of exhibitors stay at this campground. Parking in a pasture, but the ground is firm and level (rigs 40 feet there with no problems) and it's a short walk or brief ride to Tubac proper. Friday night get-together was great fun. Loved every minute. - Jeybird_72
Mar 2018 - $25.00
More or less a large open area of land with trees around the fence perimeter. There is a nice walking path that is graded for dogs. This is a very rustic campground, sites are dirt and located around the property. Not all sites have power. 50A needs to hookup near the barn. Owner/host is extremely nice and accommodating - let us check out late, giving us a chance to walk into town, a short half-mile walk across the tracks and river to visit the historic Presidio and church. Town is small and oriented toward art studios and shops. Lot's of Arizona history all around. - Seagrace

May 2019 - $5.00
This is a very basic campground, with no reservations available -- first come, first serve. We got there early in the day (noonish) and drove the loop checking dates that campers were leaving (it's posted at each site). We were able to get two campsites, and there actually ended up being a couple sites vacant that evening. Quiet, beautiful place with fabulous hiking & birding trails closeby. We actually sighted the Elegant Trogan very close to our site on two occasions, and heard them during our hike. The trail is tough (hard up and hard down) but well worth it for the views and the Trogans! The main trail to the top ridge is steep up and down, but gorgeous views on the upper half, and lots of great views! Awesome hiking and place to camp! - Patty Ford
Jun 2017 - $5.00
This is a US Forest Service CG and has limited amenities. The main attraction for me was the elevation at 5200 feet, making it much cooler than any RV park in Green Valley. I was not there during the warmest part of the day averaging in the high 80's. By sundown, the temperature dropped rapidly and sleeping was very comfortable. I arrived on Memorial day and the CG was very sparsely occupied. One thing is odd about the CG, namely there is an additional $5.00 daily fee to use the restrooms, even in the CG. Fortunately, they waive the fee for Senior Pass holders. $15 per night seems high for a Forest Service CG. It is a clean, well managed facility, and I would stay there again. - Corno1
Nov 2015 - $5.00
The road into the park and the campground road are paved, as is all the parking for the sites. We have a 23 foot trailer and had no trouble getting into site 6, in spite of the 22 foot recommends max. It seems like a 25 foot could easily get in here as well and use our site or site 7. There are also a coupe others that look big enough, but a vehicle would have to be parked near the restrooms. All sites have a picnic table, fire pit, bear box and tent pad. There are water spigots at each site that actually have threads, so we could have come here with empty tanks. The sites are mostly nicely spaced. The pit toilet was clean. We had 2 bars of ATT LTE or 1 bar of 4G. There is great hiking both from the campground and from the trailhead. However, these are steep and rocky trails (apparently the trail builders had not heard of switchbacks as there are lots he climbs straight up the hill), so if you are looking for an afternoon stroll, these may not be for you. - ALbums

May 2019 - $45.00
We stayed longer term, 6 weeks & counting. Great experience. Quiet, gated and very private. Friendly personnel. Our monthly rate included utilities (i.e. cable TV, electricity non-metered, sewer, water) a spacious site, concrete pad that allows you to actually move and walk around. Some parks have the spaces so tightly packed that you can barely walk down the side of your rig. Not this one. Park maintenance personnel were helpful by assisting us with backing into our space. Our friends stayed here recently & they were equally impressed. Definitely would recommend this park! - Denny L
May 2018 - $42.00
If you need a one night stay in Green Valley Do not stay here! This park is 95% full time retirement permanent residents. It's a very nice park for that purpose but they do not cater to overnight guests. If you're not over 55 years you cannot stay here. The overnight sites are dirt not gravel, its expensive and they only take cash. They stuck us in front of an abandoned metal building way in the back next to another permanent mobile home. We've been camping for 10 years and this was the worst site we've ever been in! - jkwlegal
May 2018 - $42.00
This is an older park that has a mix of RVs and mobile homes, lots of snowbirds. We unhook our tow in the main aisle and back our 25' MH into our assigned site with assistance from the staff. It is neat and clean. Pool facilities and club house are very, although older and well maintained. We would stay here again when in the area. We camped at Green Valley RV Resort in a Motorhome. - doit

Jan 2015 - $22.00
With almost nine years of full-time Rving, this is certainly one of the strangest RV parks that we have stayed in. We stayed here primarily because we wanted to visit the nearby Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, a very neat place. When we pulled into the park, there were only two other occupied spaces, and they were obviously occupied by very long term residents with very trashed-up spaces. It looked as if there was once a bathroom in the middle of the park. It is now a ruins. I think there may be restrooms available in the nearby restaurant, but we did not use them or check them out so not for sure. There are not many trees but the ones that are there need to be trimmed to prevent scratching to RVs. Some of the spaces were well-defined, others were strange and undefined. The hook-ups were good with strong electrical. There was WiFi and it was good at times, not so much at other times. Satellite was not a problem. We had on and off Verizon data, but voice worked well. The sites were grass/gravel. Overall the campground had a very unkempt look. During our 5 day stay, there were three or four other campers that came in and stayed. When checking on the campground, I had called a phone number associated with the campground and reached a woman in another state and she said that she was the owner. She said to just get a spot and "the woman from the restaurant" would come around and take our payment. When we pulled in, there was a sign at the front that said the rate was $20 per day and to pay the residents of the house at the back after five. So, the first day, I went down to the house to pay. The lady there told me that she was not the one and that I should pay the person in site number 9. This was one of the very trashed long-term resident sites. There was no one home, so I decided to wait until someone came by to collect. The bottom line is that no one came by to collect. On our last day, I went up to the restaurant and asked where I should pay. She said that I could pay her and give me a name to make out a check to with a rate of $22 per night. So that is what I did. I have no idea why the rate was different and I do not know if I paid the right person, but I paid. When we arrived there were barking dogs and we were concerned about noise. In the bottom line, it was nice and quiet and relatively dark at night. Unfortunately, the restaurant kept some lights on at night. We were very concerned about the long-term residents and we did hear some rap music during the day, but it was really not a problem. So, the strange campground did work for us and we had a nice visit to the Wildlife Refuge. Even though it was strange, it worked out very well and we would stay here again. - TheJim

Grim, unattractive park. Charming video on website gives an impression that is not met on-site. No shade and little vegetation. Dirt sites. It had Border Patrol vehicles going past frequently. We chose not to stay. - L. Allen

We pulled in very late at night and we were immediately greeted by the owner. He directed us to our spot and said come by in the morning after you get a good nights sleep. In the morning he took us on a great tour of the park including the vintage motor homes available for rent. They were amazing. Decorated perfectly to match their year! He then showed us the catch and release fishing area and the rest of the grounds. Our site was spacious and had some shade. Would highly recommend staying here. Great RV park! - Melissa Hiatt

Beautiful park underutilized by public, at least during the week. One downside: Awfully many houseflies. They need to import some birds (Vermillion Flycatchers, et al) - Bob-0
May 2019 - $27.00
This was a beautifully maintained park that was pretty busy, and probably VERY busy once school lets out. Spaces are fairly large, with lots of trees around the edges. Although our asphalt space looked flat, we did have to level it up a little bit with blocks. Nice picnic table under pretty, small trees right behind the lot. The best thing about this park (besides the beautiful lake) was the absolutely great shower house & restrooms. They were very clean and spacious ... and almost empty whenever I was there (maybe because there were mostly big rigs camped there, that had their own bathrooms/showers inside). It was quiet at night and had a very nice little store/market. Wi-fi was only good near the market. - Patty Ford

We go in January and it’s beautiful. The east campground is our favorite since it’s not as busy as the west, and more space in between campers. Employees are always friendly. Make sure you go to the information center. They just finished a beautiful bird/meditation area. - Jsmilesue

Feb 2019 - $31.00
This is a great little RV park. It has good facilities and spaces. Some of the newer spaces are a little cramped but adequate. One of the problems that has developed is the number of spaces taken up by miners. While good for business, it has limited the "traveler" to fewer spaces. The writer of an earlier review probably ought to read the park information since dogs are NOT allowed off leash, and those who do and get away with it are inconsiderate of others in the park who do not have dogs and do not want them wandering the park. Add to that that there are javelina who frequent the park and are not very tolerant of dogs to begin with. He may have his dog injured by wildlife. This is the desert you know. - CAG
Apr 2018 - $31.00
Looks more than a little run-down, but we actually liked our 3-day stay here. Host was available by phone but off premises and took 20 minutes to show up. Large area without cactus to walk dogs off-leash when the longhorns were not grazing. We had a pull-thru site with picnic table and concrete slab and enjoyed ourselves. Many sites were empty while the Patagonia Lake Park RV sites were full. Close to town. I especially appreciated being to run my dogs off-leash. Some shaded pull-through sites were available. We will probably stay there again if we visit Patagonia in the future. - Jack Saunders

Owner managed park, very accomodating to our needs. lots to see and do in the area. Havelinas roam in the evening. Patagonia is a fun place to hang out, it has a flavor of the old West. - midnightpumpkin
