This is our third RV stay at Davis Campground, but we will no longer be coming here. It is a shame that Mohave County has allowed this lovely park, which has river access and was so beautifully designed, to become a rundown, trash-strewn mess. About 60 percent of the full-hookup B-Section looks like a homeless encampment. Long-term residents live in old broken rigs (shredded awnings, some rigs sitting out of kilter on their axles), surrounded by scattered trash, rusty junk, and debris. Dogs can be seen off leash. Waste disposal is inadequate to the point of creating a health, safety, and environmental hazard. The County puts out lots of open barrels for trash, but - especially on the weekends when the picnic/day use areas are packed with locals - these are often overflowing food waste onto the ground. Also, in an area known for high winds, plastic bags and paper trash blow everywhere, including onto the river. Broken glass and beer bottle tops can be seen on the ground in the tent/picnic areas. Section A (electric/water only) and Section D (FHU) and the dry camping areas are okay for a couple of days, especially during the week and during the winter. But the park needs private, contracted management to add lidded dumpsters, clean up the accumulated trash, and enforce some rules. We came here because we knew that a few of the spaces in the A-Section had afternoon shade and 100-plus degree temperatures were forecast. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is not a review of the sites with water/sewer/elctric up above the river. This is a review of the Cheap Seats down by the river. They have a 25 sites that are right on the river. These sites have no electric, water, or sewer, are pretty flat, 1st come, and are available for day use. These sites have a couple of palm trees, a shelter, picnic table, BBQ grill, are pretty roomy, and your own beach on the Colorado River. On hot weekend and vacation days this place gets packed. The crowds are generally family and friends gathering and sometimes get a bit noisy. This section of river has lots of personal watercraft buzzing around with the deep bass rumble of the the go fast boats punctuated with music from the pontoon boats that occasionally make it up this far. On weekends it's not idyllic but weekdays and weekday evenings are often quiet with the noise being limited to the occasional boat and the squawk of the cormorants perching on the wires, as the sunsets. I have floated from Davis Camp down through town and saw no other place that you could camp right on the river. Basics roads paved, sites gravel, easy to get around. Verizon phone and Mifi work great. Washers and dryers available up the hill. Bathroom and showers have been repainted, have a water heater that works, and look like they have someone who cleans them on a regular basis. We have been here several times before and will definitely stay here again. The Cheap Seats are pretty much the nicest seats in the area. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Motorhome.

Planned a week but we're able to stay another 5 nights in the same site. Others had to move to extend their stays. $5 extra per night per pet maybe encourages some to not pick up after their pets even though bags are available. There was a lot of poop around. Sites are gravel with little grass. All hookups worked fine. In the laundry, 4 washers, 3 worked, 4 dryers, 2 worked. $1 a load was a good price. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Motorhome.

First of all, it was not our first choice to stay here. Originally we were scheduled at the Hualapai Mountain Park, but because of all the snow they got, we had to make other arrangements. I called about a week before our reservation and was informed that park was closed due to the snow. They were able to move us to Davis Camp and gave us a decent spot, but I wonder if anyone would have let me know about the other park prior to our arrival. The park itself is just OK. We stayed in the full hookup area and the sites are very close and not very long. The previous posted was correct about it not being very clean. Dog poop everywhere. There are some nice area's to picnic on the river, but the RV sites in our row was quite a ways away and didn't really have a view of the river. We did have a nice view of Laughlin, and although very close, we didn't go over. If you want a close place to the casinos and are only staying one night, I guess this would be an OK place, but we probably wont stay here again. The bridge to cross to Laughlin is very close, but it does not contain a sidewalk so don't attempt to walk across. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Travel Trailer.

The rate does not include a $5 per night pet fee (1 small dog) they charged us upon arrival. Their web site mentions there is a pet fee but does not state what the fee is. This park has more dog poop than we've seen anywhere else. The periphery was littered in a similar way highways are. There was a handful of litter (including rusted bottle caps) we picked up at our site. The park needs some TLC. We stayed in the RV-A section. It's a W & E loop above the beach area. Sites are close. There are trees but not for creating privacy. Some RV-A sites have views of the river which is fairly close. #22 to #26 have great views and grass behind them. #1 has a view across the loop and grass on the patio side. #18 has a good river view. Further south of the A loop, beyond the group picnic area are the RV-B, RV-C, and RV-D sections. These are long rows of close full hookup sites. There are a few trees scattered about. These sections are mostly sunny. For the most part there is no grass or vegetation separation between sites. Views here would be in the first row of RV-B more in the middle. The river is quite a distance in this part of the park. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We weren't sure if we could walk over to the Nevada side. The bridge between Arizona and Nevada does not have a sidewalk, so we didn't get over to Nevada. On the Nevada side directly across from the park it looks like there is a modern looking trail system set up along the river.

Rate reflects monthly. Started snow-birding in 2011 and to date nothing has changed, about 20% full timers in rundown condition. Spaces are gravel and have not been leveled in many years, utility hook ups are ancient and in very poor condition, most back fill valves leak constantly.

Office people and rangers are friendly and helpful but with the advent of their computer system are very not flexible. Laundry only three washers and two of the four dryers were working. Bathrooms and showers are cinder block, clean but appear from the WWII area. A price significant goes into effect 1/1/19. Davis is just across the river from Laughlin casinos. Like the camp but will think twice about returning with the price increase. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Motorhome.

Very run down. Most sites not level at all. We had RVD14 which did not look level because it had an uphill and downhill to it with a very level top! It was also a corner site with palm trees and bushes so very nice. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rate for full hookup is $30 a night, or $415 a month. No weekly rate. Longer term camping is in the ABCD sites ( reservations online). Dry storage of an RV/ trailer is $100/mo, outside. Rebuilding the park office right now, temp office near the day use area South of the camp sites. Good water, electric, and sewer. At site B55 the sewer is located at the center of the space, near the power and water. Good walking trails along both sides of the river; about a mile to the casinos, several fast foods, a Sam's Club and Home Depot. 4 miles to a Safeway. Airport is less than a mile. That can cause daytime noise in the summer when the Navy has primary flight training in Bullhead. Good fishing along the river, the park extends to the tailwaters of Davis Dam. Striped bass and trout. Fishing platforms extend to the river. A buoyed swim area ( no lifeguard ) and boat launch, as well as open swimming in the day use areas make this a busy area in the summer. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Motorhome.

This is an okay park. $25 for W/E sites (no sewer) but these sites are furthest away from Hwy 95. Showers and restrooms dated but clean. Good hookups but no fire rings. This could be a really nice park if they cleaned up a bit. Five dollars cheaper than Big Bend of the Colorado and at least you get a view of the river. The campground was easy to find right off the highway. This campground sits up on a hill above the Colorado River. Check-in was quick and easy. The staff was friendly and helpful. Interior roads are wide and paved. Easy to navigate. The sites were wide, long and level. Our site was gravel. There was plenty of room between sites. Full hookups all worked OK, but the sewer was located at the rear of the site, so bring a long hose. OTA TV worked well. Good cell reception, Verison had 4 bars. Only paid WIFI was available. Lots of places to walk the dog, but pets cost extra. There's some real nice day use sites, including a boat ramp, down along the river. This campground is located fairly near the casinos right across the river in Laughlin, NV. There's no extras here, just a decent place to camp. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed here for a week. Friendly staff, smallish spaces, the dry camping spaces by the river are bigger, but we weren't equipped for that. Clean, basically nice park, but I agree that the price seems a bit high for a county park. We will be coming back in the spring and intend to stay again, because we like the simplicity of the place, and enjoy being right on the river. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We really liked this park. We parked next to the Colorado River, and unlike earlier reviews we heard NO traffic noise and witnessed no annoying military exercises of any kind. We marked bad on cleanliness because there was quite a bit of dog feces at our site. This is a county run park, our site had no BBQ but did have a fire ring of sorts. We stayed on the primitive side so we could be closest to the river and had no regrets. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Davis Camp Park in a Travel Trailer.
