The campground is divided into two sections. The old section is wooded (piñon and juniper) with short, pull-through sites. Showers and flush toilets are in this section, but there are no hookups here. There is a dump station, however. The new section of the campground is wide open with huge, pull-through sites and no shade. There are electric and water hookups, but no sewer. There is one pit toilet restroom here, with flush toilets available in the nearby visitor center. It's ideal for big rigs. We were camped in this section. - Harry Whiteleggs

Monday, April 29 – Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park, Utah This park is in the southwest section of Utah to the east of Zion and near Kanab. If you come out of route 9 heading east from Zion, you head south on 89 for about 4 miles than pick up route 43 for another 12 miles south. There are plenty of signs posted along the roads and the drive into the park is very nice. The park has juniper and pinion pines and steep red cliffs. Once you drive in and stop at the visitor center the ranger or hostess that checked us in was very nice and informative. The campground is just down the road and there are twenty two sites in one loop. No hookups, but water can be found at the dump station and bath house. The bath house is one of the best that we have seen in two months of traveling-very clean and updated. They do take reservations. If you don’t reserve you may have to check in every day to see if your site is still available. Our site was a nice pull through, level and shaded. What this park is known for is 1200 acres of pink sand dunes – beautiful. We even took the OHV tour offered in the parking lot through the sand dunes $$ with one other couple and a nice guide. It was a great time. I am glad we were there on a Monday, because on most weekends this park fills up with campers and day visitors, most with their own OHV’s and we heard the noise can be loud. Quiet hours start at 10 at night until 9 in the morning. When we left Zion, it was in the mid 90’s and I thought it would be unbearable here without hookups, but it wasn’t. It was cooler than Zion with a nice breeze blowing through all day. This was a one night stopover for us and we were so glad that we decided to camp here. - gsnakehill

The ride from Kenab to this park is one of the most beautiful I've driven. The park is a gem. The colors in the area are amazing. Sunset is the high-point of the experience. Trails over the dunes are good and there is an ATV trail network available. There is absolutely no communication available, but there is a pay phone at the Visitors Center. Staff was friendly. Restrooms/showers are new and great. The road into the area is narrow, but really worth the drive. - Red Wolf Deux

We had a fairly level, gravel, FHU site with cable TV. The site was satellite friendly. Most sites are tight. The park was almost full so the Wi-Fi was barely good enough to check e-mail and the bathroom facilities were not clean. I did not see any recycling. - Jerry S
Sep 2018 - $45.00
Extremely close to NP entrance via free shuttle or walk. Park sites are very close together and WiFi is almost nonexistent. We had a full hookup site near Virgin River. Very dusty so be prepared for red dust everywhere. Town of Springdale very nice. I wouldn't want to drive any coach bigger than a 38' at this park. - Scooterd16
Sep 2018 - $45.00
We enjoyed our stay. Had gorgeous views from the campground all around. Colors w changing position of the sun were incredible. Just a short distance from the Visitor's Center of Zion National Park. Can walk or take the free shuttle which stops right outside the campground. Also easy walking distance to shops, galleries & restaurants of Springdale. Campground gets to use the pool of the adjacent Quality Inn. Only negative was the early morning motorcycle sounds from the nearby parking lot. Quiet period until 9am would be appreciated. - Debra Zillmer

One of our favorites on the trip! Make sure to get one of the loop B riverside places, they give direct access to the slow running river to get a cooldown. Nature and scenery is beautiful, and with water and electric hookup you really have got it all. Would have liked to stay more then one night over here and would definitely stay longer next time! - crowny
Jul 2018 - $15.00
Pros: This park is located on the virgin river and many sites are right along the river. We stayed in B Loop which is RV only. Our site was right on the river. So beautiful to wake up to the sound of the river and listen to the laughter as children and adults played in the river all day. The sites were large and clean. We would have easily parked two RVs in our spot. This park is easy walking distance of the visitors center and free shuttles up the canyon and to many of the best trails. There is good recycling except there is no paper recycling. The prices are so reasonable. Cons: There are no showers in the park nor stores. However there is a free shuttle that will take you to the town of Hurricane just outside of the park that has all of these amenities. If I had it to do over again, I would go in May when there are fewer people. There were so many people that the trails were so crowded that it felt like we were at Disneyland more than a National Park. - Coachella
Jul 2018 - $25.00
Park is very nice and easy access to the shuttles, and the pedestrian bridge to town. Soaking in the river in between hikes is nice. - 4n6

May 2017 - $10.00
We were looking for a place to stay central to activities in Zion National Park. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. We stayed weekdays on May in our 25 foot MH. This CG is beautifully situated at the base of Zion Canyon surrounded by views of cliffs. It is very well maintained. The sites vary in size with a variety of orientations to allow privacy. Most have a mix of sun and shade and most are level. There are no hookups. There's a dump station and potable water near the entrance. There's no wifi. ATT and Verizon coverage is good. All sites at South CG are first come first serve. Cars begin to line up before 6am. The hosts are friendly and helpful assigning sites as they are vacated. The day we arrived, the first 35 cars got sites and the CG was full by 9am. There are alternative commercial and BLM campsites outside the south entrance to Zion. Watchman is the other CG in Zion NP and is reservation only. - dsvt
Nov 2016 - $20.00
This is a fairly clean campground, though I found some trash at my site. There's traffic noise, but almost none at night. Sites are shady, non-level dirt. Each site has a picnic table. Generator hours: 8-10 AM and 6-8 PM. Roads are narrow asphalt in fair condition with a few large potholes, tight turns, some low branches, and many cracks in the pavement.
Verizon LTE works well. Terrestrial broadcast TV: CBS PBS. No VHF weather radio. - wjzcbn

Very busy, so get their early...even in October. Nice sized sites, water at the dump station. Very close to visitors center and shuttle bus to all the hikes. Great location. - John WD Smith

This is a basic park but it is spotlessly clean with a big clubhouse that anyone can use. Internet was the best of anyplace we have stayed. Fast enough for streaming unless the Park was full. We stayed here four months as we explored the area. No cell service. Close to Zion, Bryce Canyon, and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Great price and half that if you have Passport America. Staff at the park were responsive to any problems and made repairs quickly. The park is on top of a hill with great views all around. The night skies were gorgeous. The campground is Dark Sky certified. - Hartleyfam
Sep 2018 - $13.00
What an amazing find! This park is in the middle of nowhere but that's what makes it great...beautiful, quiet, friendly people, and absolutely spotless! Pipe Springs National Monument is next door and worth an hour. North Rim of the Grand Canyon about an hour away. - z32k12
Aug 2018 - $25.00
I can't say enough good things, the staff was amazing. They even helped me with leveling my trailer. The clubhouse looks and feel brand new, they said the remodeled a couple years ago. The place is nice, but even better it was clean clean did I say CLEAN!!!! Will stay here every time we come through. - AtHomeRV

Apr 2018 - $48.00
Very basic site, no TV or cable; wi-fi is only at the laundry room. Utilities all worked (sewer fitting was about 12" above ground so had to rig the sewer hose to drain), voltage seemed to be a little low but never below the levels for our EMS to trip, water pressure was great (be sure to run some water to clear out any 'gunk' in the line first). Check in across the road at the gift shop. Site was gravel (as well as the road in). There is some work going on to update the laundry room/showers. Overall site was acceptable but it seems the price was higher than you'd expect for a basic FHU. - Dave Hole
Apr 2017 - $53.00
Terrible camp, but close to East Entrance to Zion. Worth it?? Questionable. several camps near Mt Carmel Junction that might be a better option. Dump outlet was about 8" above ground which made if difficult to use. Good wifi at the great laundry, lounge and hot showers. Probably the only redeeming factor. A little effort by the owners could make this a really nice park. Pull through sites on the upper end were 59.00. - Bob Nelson
Sep 2016 - $48.00
Worst campground we've stayed at. The actual name of the campground on the sign is Hi-Road Campgeounds. Their address came up in our GPS as 14 miles off of its actual location which is about 1 mile from the east entrance to Zion. We couldn't get cell service to even call them to get directions so used a phone at a service station in Mount Carmel. No cell service. No wifi. No tv. The pull through site had a huge hole about 2 feet in diameter in the gravel that we had to fill in with gravel to pull our rig out safely. The only way I would ever stay at this campground again is if I wanted to tent camp with no amenities. The price was outrageous for what we got. No Good Sam or other discounts. The campground revolves around its retail store on the other side of the highway which is also where you have to check in. Awful experience! - Carole S

Small (9 site) BLM campground; great dry camping for only $5 per night! No water or dump station on site, just outhouses. No cell reception; most sites could get a satellite signal, as there aren't too many trees. Important note: due to a sharp turn in the road and small sites, a sign at the entrance reads: max. trailer size 24 feet. I brought in a 26-foot trailer without any problems, but I wouldn't recommend anything over 28 feet. This makes a great base for exploring Zion National Park, and is much quieter and cheaper than staying in Sand Dunes State Park. - Neil C.

We have been full time RVers for the past 7 months. This RV park is among the best we have stayed in. Access is easy and the check in area had four spaces, three would accommodate any size RV. The check in was smooth and we found the staff to be great throughout our stay. Interior roads are tight but manageable. My only "complaint" was the size of the site. It was long enough for the RV and leveled with ease. However the back portion was sloped which limited the area to level. (We had to park the tow vehicle across the front on the RV.) There were two trees, one on each side, which was ok for slides but we could not extend the awning. The hook ups worked well and I really liked the light on the electric panel. We had sub freezing temps during our stay and it was nice to have the light on when disconnecting the water at night. Propane is available on site and was priced less than off site options. The park is a short drive to Zion National Park. Hurricane, La Verkin and Washington are short drives for supplies. (Walmart in Hurricane, Costco in Washington) The Costco has diesel and it very big rig friendly! - DJR CMR

We organized a group RV outing for our Elks Club. Upon checking in, they changed my site# with no notification which was a problem because we were gathering the first night at our site for cocktails. (One site was not notified due to the office inefficiency)! We were also told we would get a 15% discount with 8 reservations. We had 12 confirmed but due to injury/ illness, 3 people had to cancel. When I checked in, I was told emphatically by the RUDE manager that there were only 7 reservations remaining and No discount would be given. At our first night gathering we counted 9 sites participating in our outing and had to insist that the charges be reversed and the discount given!! A little bit of customer service/courtesy by the manager would have gone a long way. All other employees appeared to be very customer service oriented and were pleasant to deal with. The manager needs to take lessons from her employees on how to treat the resorts customers. - NvRver
Oct 2018 - $60.00
Very nice RV park 20 minutes from Zion National Park entrance. All roads are paved with easy access. Each site has level concrete pads, a nice grass area with a gravel "patio", picnic table, and fire ring. All the utilities worked well, are convenient, and east to hook up. The pool, hot tub, and patio area is very clean and inviting. There are a lot of trees that would be welcome in the summer heat. The entire park are beautiful and well maintained. There is a convenience store in the office area. The staff is friendly, efficient, knowledgeable, and helpful. The park is filled all the time, so advance reservations are needed. Rated as Excellent - We Highly recommend this RV park. - Pacatrader

We stayed three nights as we explored Zion. Our boys loved the pools and the hot tub felt great after a long day of hiking. The trailhead to Observation Point via the East Mesa trail is close and because it's less strenuous than the traditional trail, even our 5 year old walked this trail. - EMolsee

Only 15 RV sites; large park to get to amenities. Sites unlevel. Poor road signs to find RV park. No assistance to finding RV site. Sites not mowed. Only 2 washers that RVers & campers share. Numerous activities for children. Restaurant on premises. - yfraddosio

Stayed in site 140. Very shaded. Couldn't get satellite signal, but they have free WiFi for the purpose of streaming, we asked because we didn't want to hog bandwidth while watching college football. The shaded sites would be really nice in the hot summers! There is also cable. Quiet campground off the main street. Can walk to Walgreens and grocery. - Uthagan
