May 2015 - $13.00
We stayed in a site with electrical hookups. The sites are roomy, pretty level asphalt fingers off a paved loop. The park is beautiful, well maintained and a wonderful place to stay. The hosts are helpful and friendly and keep everything neat and tidy. Squirrels and Blue Jays visit and provide entertainment. The park is at about 8,000 feet in elevation on top of Arizona's Mogollon Rim and can be a bit chilly at night if you stay there early or late in the season. It is closed in the winter. A really cool, relaxing place to stay in the pines. We stayed in a fifth wheel. - AZCamperGal

Great NAT. park campground. Hot showers and loads of space between sites. No disappointments here. Hard to get electric sites. - Never Again
Oct 2009 - $24.00
The Best of Old Fashioned Camping - with electric! The hospitality people were amazingly friendly and yet non-intrusive. The campground was neat and clean. The outhouses - well, they were outhouses, odor and all. There are very nice flush toilets at the shower building. I do advise to camp across the road or a space or 2 away from outhouses. There are only 4 pull-through spaces which are really roomy. There are also several long back in spaces. All electric spaces are in Loop A. Go to www.recreation.gov to reserve space during the high season. October was nice weather and walk-in only. We got there Friday morning and were able to choose a pull-through space. Loop A filled up pretty good by Saturday morning. Perhaps being just 2.5 hours from the east Valley is the reason - it's close and easy. We specifically asked about this item: Contrary to a previous review, there is only 1 tag per vehicle. It goes in the tow vehicle or toad if you choose to leave the park. It does not stay with your trailer or tent. But this is true for all the National or State parks that I've been in. Also, being a National Forest, the stay limit is 14 days. As much as I almost hate to share it, it was a weekend in heaven. Relaxing, peaceful (with the sounds of children laughing in the background), quiet, dark & starry. Take the time to walk the .7 mile to see the Sinkhole area. You may even get lucky enough to see some of the many elk in the area. For those looking for the RV park feel with entertainment and stores within walking distance, this isn't it. There's a small local store a mile up the road in Forest Lakes and a great restaurant across the street, but that's about it for really close businesses. However, if it is a "camping" session that you seek, complete with fires in the fire pits at night, this place is tops in my book! You can buy firewood at the gate for $6 a bag and ice for $2. There is a dump station by the entrance as well as potable water if you need to fill up or re-fill during your stay. What more could you need? Take a good book and a comfy chair and plug in the coach for a truly rewarding weekend (or week if you can). - tbone4

Campground is located in the National Forest near Wood Canyon Lake (walking Distance). The entrance and campground roads are paved. The campsite pads are paved with large areas of open space and trees around many sites. No utilities at your site so fill your water at one of the many locations throughout the park. Solar panels are not reliable here, at least some sites, due to the trees. Generators are allowed during the day and early evening. - RetiredVagabond
Oct 2015 - $20.00
Nice wooded campground, tall trees. All interior roads and site parking are paved. All sites are back-in, widely spaced. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. No showers, just pit toilets. Water spigots scattered around. Verizon cell signal was weak but usable. There is a dump station. It is a short walk to the lake, a lots of trails nearby. At the lake there is a nice store with basics and you can rent boats/kayaks. Lots of 6-7% grades driving from Phoenix. - trussman
Jun 2015 - $20.00
This was our first time staying here and we were very pleased with this campground. Most of the sites have numerous tall pines for decent shade. In April, before the campground was open, we scouted out sites we liked before making a reservation. About 1/3 of the sites are first come / first serve. If you're into hiking, the 5 mile loop around Woods Canyon Lake is only about a 5-10 minute walk from the campground. The Rim Trail is about 1 mile away via a trail that runs from the lake to the rim. Basics necessities are available at the store by the lake. On our hike around the lake, we saw several elk along with a pair of nesting bald eagles and their two 6 week old youngsters. Very cool experience for our 9 year old daughter to see. - MarkH

Aug 2019 - $47.00
Excellent WiFi, no OTA TV & no cable, clean, but limited restrooms/showers. Would've been a wonder stay were it not for this: Camp host INSISTS on assisting in parking your rig. We are experts and have our own process. He claimed to be watching out for all obstacles, but was clearly only interested in park property (power pole on wrong side, sewer drain beside picnic table on patio side!) Again, INSISTED that we pull our 34' Airstream around for a pull-through entry - we could've easily backed in. The camp host paid no attention to our rig pulling around the shower house. As a result, the right-rear end cap of our trailer inadvertently clipped the corner of there shower house! This caused about $3,000 worth of damage to our rig. They did NOT offer to comp. our stay due to the staff's clear incompetence. - EdinPS
Jul 2019 - $49.00
The park is somewhat tight for us. The sights were very close and hook ups were a little out of place. Neighbors sewer was basically in our picnic area. The water and electric were on the incorrect side but not a terrible inconvenience they are close and very easy to make connection. The Camp host/onsite workers were very friendly helpful with getting us into our site as well as helping with the hook ups. The only real complaint we have is the Bath/showers were always in use. We are not sure if there are 2 or more; there were 2 Uni sex doors but were in use the entire time we were there 2 days. So we never did see get a chance to use or see the bathrooms/Showers. - Slkelley
Oct 2018 - $45.00
Only spent one night here. The office staff was very pleasant and provided me a site that allowed me not to unhook my tow. The park is very well maintained. I would stay here again if I had an opportunity in the future. I was escorted to the site and the gentlemen was very careful in placement of the RV. Site - level with help of jacks Dog Park - fenced and pet owners picked up after their pets. Met several neighbors which were all friendly with playful dogs. WiFi - good signal T-mobile - 2 of 4 bars. Electric - no issues Water - no issues Sewer - not used Satellite - no issues. - Peter G

New owners. Do not accept Passport America. Didn't know that until after we were set up and the spouse went to pay. Interior roads are asphalt and sites very small gravel that sticks to shoes and is carried inside the RV. Wi-Fi is free and worked. Nothing on the TV antenna. All back-in sites. Did like that no wood burning fire pits were allowed. We were in site #5. Near the highway so was some road noise. The water and sewer connections were on the wrong side. Had to run them under the trailer. Sewer was up hill and the connection was in at an angle. Somewhat easy in and out with our 60' combo. - Tallboy
Jun 2015 - $15.00
We spent a month here. Many people spend the whole season here. The sites are very large. Our site (#4) was near the road, but the traffic noise did not bother us. The rate listed is for the site only. We had to pay a deposit of $75 for electric. At the end of our stay we got part of that back.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are many activities offered.
There are small grocery stores in the area, but we ended up driving to Show Low often (approx. 40 minutes). - sunnyaz
Oct 2014 - $20.00
Rate is Passport America. Wi-Fi is available by extra fee, $15.00 a week for one computer. This is a nice park but some sites would be hard to get into due to the trees. Satellite may also be difficult. This is mainly a monthly park with long term seasonals. There is a dollar store right across the street. 30 miles from main shopping area. Beautiful park and would stay again. - goofy50

This is an old park with mostly permanent park models and old rvs. The pull through site only works if you do not want to connect to water and sewer and can get by with 30 amp service. There are only two rest room/showers but each is a full bathroom. The facilities are about 40 years old and need upgrading. We will look elsewhere. If we need to stay in the area again. - Windshift
Apr 2017 - $35.00
The staff here is outstanding at this RV park is outstanding and the park is absolutely beautiful. We will definitely be back. Very pet friendly. Awesome clubhouse. Clean restrooms. Laundry facility was nice and clean. The entire experience from reservation to departure was stellar! Highly recommended! - rvgirl1969

Jul 2017 - $24.00
This is a very small park that could stand some tlc. The building were definitely in need of some paint. The sites are all back-in but long enough for our 28' travel trailer and tow vehicle plus. Although the telephone pole in front of the space made it a little challenging getting into. The site was fairly level front to back, but we did have some difficulty getting level side to side and had to use blocks under the wheels. We did have a picnic table in our spot, but it was very weathered and the bench on one side was completely broken. We didn't use the bathrooms or showers or go into the office other than check in. We were able to get cell service on Sprint and some data occasionally on AT&T. There is absolutely no TV service so you have to have satellite to get any reception at all. If you have dogs, you do want to stay on the roads when walking them as there are a lot of little stickers in the "grass" areas. The people there were all very friendly and we would definitely stay there again. - O_CBarber
May 2017 - $1.00
First the highlights: In my 13 years of full time travel this may well be the quietest park I've ever been in. Excellent views. That being said it was also very poorly maintained. Restrooms sinks badly chipped and room in need of paint. Office area hung with blue tarps from water damage. Handrails old and rotting away. Wooden site posts and tables rotting and/or badly in need of paint. If your not self-contained a poor choice. Sites are level but are gravel and dirt that becomes very muddy with minimal rain. Internet sometimes available in office area from 9AM to 1PM. Only time I tried to use it staff hadn't arrived by 9:30AM. - Shikepoke
Sep 2016 - $15.00
Muddy, grassy, very old facilities, strange rules i.e. WiFi in clubhouse but only from 9am to 1pm & for 1 hour only. Camp managers are nice just don't have a facility that is good. Would not recommend to families, large groups, younger people. Stayed here looking for real estate in the area. Would never stay again. I - Pastor Jay
