National Park campground, enter the park, pay fee, then proceed to campground. Check in was easy but ensure who ever makes the reservation is the one to check in. They require ID and credit card to match. The staff is very friendly and gave us plenty of information pertaining to park as well as the Grand Canyon. Our site was pull thru, asphalt pad, full utilities except cable. Site was not flat so had to level. Gravel patio with picnic table and BBQ. They advise not to leave sewer hose hook up as Ravens will peck them, causing holes. Wooded area, but we used an external satellite and got great signal. Park is dark, makes star gazing nice. This campground doesn't fit anything bigger than 50ft and that includes the tow. Even though our RV was shorter, it just fit our site. We parked the truck on the gravel patio next to us. The roads in are good, however the roads in-between sites are narrow. No designated dog park, but plenty of space and wooded areas to walk dogs. Dumpsters located near office. Great location as you can walk to the South Rim trail on close to level paved trails. No store at RV park but there is a general store within walking distance. The store has groceries as well as a big selection of souvenirs. There is also a free bus service that you can pick up in front of park, and will take you to multiple locations. Park is well maintained This is a National park campground operating by a vendor, not an RV resort, therefore doesn't have any amenities except bathrooms. Showers you have to use Mathers campground. They give you two tokens a day if you need to use the shower facility. We camped at Trailer Village RV Park (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We walked to the South Rim, then followed the trail to the visitor center, Mathers point, museum, then to the village. We took the shuttle bus back to the campground. The shuttle makes different stops along the route and you can pick up a bus route map when you check in. The campground bus stop is by the check in office.

It's hard to beat the convenience of being within this great National Park and on the free shuttle bus line. The park itself is OK. Utilities well placed and worked as expected.. It is amazing to see the mule deer and elk roaming the campground looking for water. Some tight turns and many of the trees need to be trimmed as we scrapped on several trees. We had to back out of our pull through site due to a tree towards the front of our site. We camped at Trailer Village RV Park (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Not bad getting to it following signs for Campgrounds. Interior roads mix of paved and gravel depending on how much you pay. Pads are paved and the condition of the pads depends on the area. Utilities worked well, our site only had 50 amp receptacle but they loaned us an adapter to 30. We were able to pick up extended 4g on our Verizon MiFi and it worked fine for our basics. WiFi at Yavapi Lodge was variable in speed. We camped at Trailer Village RV Park (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

The shuttle picks up at the RV park and you use buses, and/or walking, to get you everywhere. Your car doesn't move. Full grocery store available. Food is pretty good at tavern and the deli at the grocery store.

This was a great place to stay while touring the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The site was fairly level and paved, and all the streets were paved. The office staff was very friendly and helpful any time I had a question or concern. All of the utilities worked well. There is no wifi in the park, and cellular service is iffy at best. Don't plan on being able to check your email while you are here. The sites were close and just barely long enough for my motorhome and car. The site next to me had to park their SUV parallel with the road to keep from blocking the road. The Grand Canyon shuttle bus runs in front of the office about every 15-20 minutes, and it is a great way to see most of the South Rim; in fact, it is the only way to see some of the sites. And on one day, we did have elk walk through the campground. Can't promise it will happen for you, but it did for us one time. That was a real treat. We camped at Trailer Village RV Park (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

A nicely developed and well maintained RV park with paved roads and sites considering its high use. Sites appear level but have some hidden slope that requires some leveling. Being able to get in to this park and camp here is a treat as it provides so many opportunities to access this great park. We did not have ATT cell service and could only get WIFI at the nearby lodge. One somewhat comical but minor issue is they ask you not to leave your sewer hose connected and to connect only when needed as the Ravens (?blackbirds?) like to attack and destroy them and all food sources in the park!!We definitely will stay here again if we have the opportunity. The campground is a disappointment, no campground host therefore the sites are not checked between users. No fire pits, wood fires are not permitted, only gas or charcoal. Charcoal grill was not cleaned, ashes left from previous user. Sites are not level. The rate is high for what you receive. However the campground is convenient to the Park. The shuttle bus stop is just outside of the campground. No T-Mobile, was able to receive satellite reception. We camped for five days. If you are visiting Grand Canyon in a large RV, this is the only way to go. Conveniently located inside the park, we rode our E-Bikes everywhere from camp. The shuttle service makes getting around very convenient as well. In reading some of the other reviews before posting ours, I didn't know anything about disconnecting the sewer hose - I kept ours connected and the ravens did attack it (gross). There were lots of Elk who would come into the park and roam around. We were stunned as to how dumb and careless some of the guests were, thinking they were pets - some even wanted to feed them, others filling water dishes. We had no problem with our stay, the space was outstanding and we will definitely stay here again. We camped at Trailer Village RV Park (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Spacious sites. We were in a 50 amp site. These are on asphalt, level-comes with a standing BBQ grill and picnic table. Most have a shade tree. Plenty of room to pull thru. Transportation thru the park is easy with a shuttle that leave from the entrance. Showers are located at a nearby tent campground-Mather. Quiet at night. Elk come thru morning and evening. You can walk to the Yavapai Hotel with dining and grocery store-or take shuttle. Bathrooms in campground are basic-but clean. Pets ok here. gravel under picnic table, some have dirt/mulch. Not dependable phone or wi fi from campground, but you can get reception at the hotels. We had room for a 32 ft with slide outs, one extra vehicle, and enough to put a 2 person tent in between. We camped at Trailer Village RV Park (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I made 15 calls to get a 3 night stay. I got 1 nt,then over 2 weeks was able to add more nts. Sites assigned on arrival. If you make multiple reservations-call the 800 number to cross reference ALL booking numbers, or you will be changing sites ea night.I did this abt 4 times, but at check in-was still a problem with the ranger-she did eventually make it right. You need to ask for tokens to use showers at Mather campground. Get them each day-allowed one per person each day

Our 7th stay in our Class A motorhome over the years. Assigned a site under a pine tree. By dusk we realized the tree had dripped sap over everything. Had to discard the patio mat. Asked for another site. Was directed to another site but would have to move at that time. It was dark and I was not about to break camp and move in the dark. Decided to cancel our 11 nite stay and leave in the AM. Glad we did as the night air was thick with smoke from wood burning in the cooking grills. No rules being enforced. Park was loaded with Rental RV's who have no skin in the RV experience. Many foreigners who probably can not read the "Do Not" signs in the office. That is not to say the US patrons could care. Will visit the Grand Canyon via day trips from outside the park in the future. We camped at Trailer Village RV Park (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

We stayed 5 nights recently, and enjoyed this park. Pros: close to rim, spacious sites, clean, convenient to shopping and transit. Cons: concrete pad wasn't level, trash truck loudly banged the dumpster every morning around 6:30, very inconvenient to put sewer hoses up after use. We finally left them out our last 2 days and didn't have any ravens bother it. We camped at Trailer Village RV Park (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Travel Trailer.

This is a very nice park in a great location in the National Park. Streets are laid out strange but are usable. Lots of wildlife wandering thru, especially elk. However, this is the worst managed RV park we have ever been in. The management company is apparently based in New York and when they finally return phone calls, they are rude and do not know much of what is going on in AZ. Their contract should be terminated immediately. If the Park Service would get a decent management company, this could be an excellent RV park. I love this park and so do a lot of other campers which is why it is almost always FULL. The showers, and laundry are about a quarter mile from the campground and bring your quarters. The Forest Service, and concessionaire for trailer village have made a lot of improvements and are still working on some. The shuttle is very convenient for visiting all the tourist sites along the Rim. Grocery store nearby as well as a restaurant.

Don't leave your trash out or you will find it all over the park courtesy of the ravens. Same with sewer hose...only connect when you plan to dump and then store it back. We camped at Trailer Village RV Park (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.

Close and easy access to park's shuttle service. Asphalt site with convenient utilities. Cable was a surprise. Staff were friendly and helpful. No dog run or designated area. Nearby paths are nice for dog walks, but keep an eye out for deer and elk. Only hook-up hose when you can keep an eye on it. Ravens will poke holes in it if left unattended. Walking distance to general store. Very slow internet service (3G) with Verizon. Enjoyed our stay even though it snowed 3" on May 22nd. Great location inside Grand Canyon NP. Convenient park bus service from campground to all park bus routes. Restrooms were heated. Our electrical power surge protector indicated an open ground (hazard) where voltage between neutral and ground is greater than zero. Park attendant came and said several people with surge protectors had this problem. He said request a site move (none available) or use the electrical power connection at your own risk, which we did since we had no other choice. So, while lightning storms occurred each evening, we could not use our surge protector. RV site was sloped in two directions; had to use leveling blocks. Showers and laundry facilities were about 2 miles away by park bus. Very inconvenient. We camped at Trailer Village RV Park (Concessionnaire Operated) in a Motorhome.
