Cattail Cove State Park is quite literally an oasis in the Arizona desert. Its Lake Havasu beachfront location is a big draw for campers and boaters. There is a 14-day CG limit. Many RVers return year-after-year for a full 2 week visit. Park employees "ALL" make a point of explaining and reminding guests that they take great pride in managing a safe, generally quite, and exceptionally neat and squeaky-clean facility: i.e., where every guest knows and actually follows the posted rules. Campsites located in the lower CG loop seem more closely spaced and shaded than sites in the CG's upper loop. All sites offer electric and water service. All sites seemed level and adequately deep and well-spaced. There is an onsite dump-station. Verizon cell service was generally 2-bars. As for activities - the big 3 options seem to be - fishing and boating on Lake Havasu, hiking the parks numerous trails, and relaxing on the CG's white-sand beach or in your campsite. Two Cautionary Notes: This is absolutely NOT a weekend or holiday "party" park. And, for those RVers requiring satellite access, the park's shade trees may offer respite from the afternoon sun, but they may also make acquiring satellite TV service a bit of a challenge. We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Travel Trailer.

I am sure we could have gotten a longer site if we had reserved sooner. When we set up our levelers our front wheels were way off the ground so had to dig out the blocks that I carry just for such places. Most of the sites did not look any more level than ours. The park was clean and had lots of room to the side but not so much in back. Won't be going back. We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park. Plenty of room between spaces. Water and electricity were excellent. If you are there on extended stay you need to dump tanks in the dump station. Very pet friendly but pets must be on a leash inside the park. There is a pet area with a beach and water where pets can be off leashes. We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots of things to do in Lake Havasu. Several golf courses. The park is close to the water. The campground is roughly 10 to 15 miles to Lake Havasu to the north and about the same to Parker. Good 2 lane road so it was not inconvenient.

Very nice park well off the highway and down along the river. Arrived late and left early, so didn't explore much. Park is laid out well with good space between sites. My space--the only one available--backed up to the fish cleaning station, about 25-30 yards away. There was nothing bothersome (odors, noise, etc.). We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Appeared that sites closest to the beach/river might be affected by foot traffic and noise from folks enjoying water sports. Since my stay was evening thru early next morning I didn't check to see. Park is attractive and set at mouth of a small canyon.

Be really careful because if you RV drips at the hookup connection, even a drop or two, they will have the park ranger cite you with a fine of $500. Don't use the dump station because they will cite you there too. Same fine, total ripoff. We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Motorhome.

Fourth time we have stayed here. It only gets better each time. Volunteers are wonderful, enjoy what they are doing. Park provides some hikes and programs, all of which have been very well done. They keep tidying up the park with lots of labor and love. If new section ever comes on line it will be fabulous. We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. No store, yet. 30 amp service. No sewer at site. I would come back. Great launch ramp. Friendly staff. One minor issue. The road to launch ramp is busy before dawn and has multiple speed bumps. Trailers crossing early will wake the dead, dont camp by the road. Also dogs bark during quit hours. We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Motorhome.

We love supporting our state parks, so reserved a site here for a stop on our way home from a 3-week road trip to California. We spent 2 nights here, but unfortunately those nights fell on a Friday & Saturday.

The park wasn't totally full, but most of the campers were also boaters, so there was quite a bit of noise. Some campers came in late Friday night, well after quiet hours, and had to get set up.

The park's appearance was neat and clean, with lots of lovely leafy trees. Unfortunately we chose site #33 and it had no shade. We also chose #33 because it was listed as a 60 pull-thru.

We drive a small 29 ft class A RV and tow a small SUV. We chose the pull-thru so we wouldn't have to unhook it for our stay. But the ranger told us when we entered the gate that we would have to unhook our car before pulling into our site so our toad would not stick out onto the very busy road to the boat ramp. Not sure where the 60 feet were, but the site sure didn't seem anywhere near that length.

The site was not level. Our auto-levelers had our front wheels at least 4-5 inches off the ground in order to level the coach. Bring extra chocks or leveling blocks!

The park itself is lovely. We would return again, but NOT on a weekend and we would choose a site at the opposite end, away from the boat ramp. We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

I highly recommend NOT choosing #33 unless you are a huge boating fan. This space is located right at the entrance to the ramp, with a speed bump right at the rear of the campsite (and right outside our bedroom). All day and all night we heard vehicles with boats bounce over this bump...some slowly and some not. The noise was not pleasant.

It's a very clean campground. And a great beach for the dogs to swim. Very dog friend place. Right on Lake Havasu. We have a view of the lake and a sewer hookup. Many sites do not have sewer. So check the details when you begin your reservations many campsites. Also has a great hiking trail along the lake . We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay and had decent cell service. The hike to Whyte's Beach along the lakeshore is nice. The sites are not level and require some creative leveling techniques (that can be a source of entertainment). We might stay here again if in the area. Very few 50 amp sites, we had a 30 amp and had to watch power use. We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed at Cattail Cove for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. It is well maintained and the staff we very pleasant. Wish there were a few more trees around, though. The restrooms are very clean and the showers are hot with good water pressure. It is on the lake so we were able to place our inflatable kayak right in at the boat dock. There are hiking trails there, as well, that whoever planned and maintains has done an outstanding job! You access them right from the campground. We really enjoyed every hike we did, and we covered them all...some more than once. Thank you for your time and efforts on these!! Much appreciated! We will be back! Loved the area. Would have given a 10 rating if it had full hookups. There are no sewer hookup at the site but there is a nice dump station within the campground. We had a 50 amp site which are not quite as scenic as those closer to the lake but still nice. Park and facilities extremely clean. Showers were very nice. The water never got hot but sufficiently warm. The campsite we had was not level so come prepared to raise a set of tires. We camped at Cattail Cove State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
