We were passing through town and decided to stay overnight. They were able to give us a site for one night and it was fabulous. We were right on the lake in a pull through site. We have a dog and, on the part of the beach we were, dogs were allowed in the water as long as they were leashed. So even our dog loved it. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This is in Lake Havasu City. It has the London Bridge. Also some great shops and restaurants. You can rent patio boats, paddle boards, jet ski's, and ski boats. It is a beach community, and has a really relaxed atmosphere.

Old, dirty, run down. Bathroom doors rotting away, the entire site (except for the park model area) is filthy. We reserved full hookups with water view, so they put us down by the water, where there were no sewer hookups. We went back and explained we wanted full hookups and they said ok, but no water view available, so they put us near the bathrooms and pool, no discount or refund for not getting water view. Next to us on both sides were full timers, one was an ancient class C with plastic boxes and tubs surrounding it, junk everywhere. A man and his teen age son lived in this tiny space, with three cats, and they were constantly arguing, loudly, late into the night. What a mess! By far the worst campground I have ever experienced. Keep on moving to the next place, there are so many other choices nearby. Picnic table was a piece of junk, and slab broken up. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

This is a large park and probably old and has had areas and spaces added over the years. We were in Row D toward the end in a very small space. We did not like the way the pullthrus alternated with our door facing the neighbor's door. A very big rig was on our other side and his popout hindered our disconnecting. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The office and all employees have no uniforms. Only one young man in office has any hospitality service for guest. The rest act like your bothering them unless you are one of their long term campers. Grounds crew drive around in a beat up truck with no windows, picking through trash while grounds go under groomed. No daily garbage pick like last person stated. Large trash dumpsters are always over flowing by mid week. Mostly dirt gravel sights. No sewer hook up except a few on top. No activities for long term guests by staff. Everything is self ran. It would be nice if just once in the seven weeks we the staff might greet you and not just look down. The security at gate let anyone in. We didn't feel safe and sound at night. They let a few homeless people in to use showers and bathroom. The good reports are most likely the good Ole boys club who basically run this camp ground. Meaning year long people or people who have come for years and like the no rules and out of control staff. Praying we find a staff correctlyou trained in customer service no matter if they arrive for one night or eight months. Also many other very nice campgrounds to choice from. Better keep looking is my advice. Happy camping. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Don't expect sight signs to guide you. People drive round and round because there are truly no visible signs to sights at any if the roads. We seen at least ten RV leave because there was no room to turn. Others mad because they didn't care if others park in front of your right or parking area.

Overall Rating:

We had family staying here for the winter and used their spot after they left, I believe based on a weekly rental the daily rate is $50 which would be expensive for what you get here. Full hooks ups only on top of the hill, the beach sites are elec/water. The main draw here is their great location, on the island and right on the beach. Not much curb appeal, mostly gravel, very few trees, very crowded and some longer term sites are a bit junky. The sites facing the beach are the nicest but scarce. Perhaps 3/4 of total sites are on interior road or up on hill. A lot of friendly snowbirds stay here due to the price break for multi-month rentals and the "anything goes" atmosphere. Some noisy nights between coyotes yipping nearby, loud boats coming through the channel and the spring break bars rocking til 4 am. The only restrooms are up on the hill. Didn't use them so can't comment on current status. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Nice 3.5 mile bike trail around the island, London bridge with shopping and dining nearby, boating down the river to Copper Canyon (try some cliff diving if you are brave enough!) Lots of ATV/Jeep trails in desert. Flea market in town on Sunday. The trek out to the Desert Bar is quite the experience - 4 mile jostling drive on primitive rocky "road" out into desert. A cruise or walk in the channel during spring break is NOT a G rated activity- leave the kids at home for that one.

Overall Rating:

This was our first stay at Crazy Horse Campground in Lake Havasu City, Arizona. I have read other reviews and had a good idea what to expect. The campground is an older campground. It could use some serious upgrading and renovation. Most of the pic-nic tables are old and weather beaten and need replacement. We stayed at the beach ("I" section) and found that the sites are littered with trash and cigarette butts, which is inexcusable since there are plenty of trash cans available for use. The sites are in dire need of cleaning. The beach sites have water and electric service only, no sewer. This is understandable considering how close the sites are to the lake. A holding tank pumping service is available (for $10). The pool area looked nice and clean and the store was well stocked. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our site location and would stay at Crazy Horse Campground again. It is, we found, the only campground with a jet ski and boat rental service on premises (I believe it is a separate business). We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

The park is located across London Bridge and the best thing about the park is the location. The sites are very narrow. The staff are uninformed and barely functional. There are several park models, some of which are showing their age. Very friendly campers and snow birds. We would stay here again just because of the location. Even the pay internet did not work. Overall Rating:

I've stayed at this campground before and truly love it; first time lake view (includes electric and water) and this time up the hill (includes cable, sewage hook up, water and electric). Very dog friendly, and management was courteous. Plenty of space at this RV park. It's an extra $4.00 for Wi-Fi and $3.00 per dog. But, you can't beat the view. It's a vacation coming here. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: February, 2013 - $35.00
Overall Rating:

Very large old park w/paved roads, sand/gravel mostly level open sites, most w/concrete patios. Easy access. Large rigs OK. Sites 50/30/20 elec & water & some sewer. Dump stations & pump out trucks. Several restrooms, average cleanliness, one is obnoxious. Maybe half mobile homes. Sites on top and tiered down sides of hills down to river, makes it interesting, not usual cookie-cutter rectangular park. Satellite good but terrain against hill might get in way at a few sites. Verizon Wireless cell is 4-bar Extended Network. Some have problems with dropped cell calls. Data is overloaded, poor connectivity during day, worked sporadically or not at all, except middle of night. We hear extra cost WiFi doesn’t work well. Believe it is not a park problem but rather the town is overloaded. Easy in/out, location very close to center of town, just over London Bridge & on edge of Colorado River make this a nice park. Gate staff friendly & helpful. Also has a few boat docks & canoe/kayak rentals. We stayed 2 weeks in North Beach section on edge of river. Looked at other RV parks, many extremely tight, very close to neighbor, few river views, comparable pricing. Havasu is a vacation & seasonal destination, Jan & Feb very busy & parks mostly full so reservations recommended. $35-40-48/night, weekly, monthly, yearly rates. Will come back. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

The park is easy to get in and out of. There is lots of space at the entrance to park and get registered. Park staff did apply a sticker to both the motorhome and the towed as had been pointed out in an earlier review. When we left I asked the attendant to remove the stickers, which he did with no problems. The lake front sites are sandy gravel with a small concrete pad with a picnic table and space for a couple of chairs. The asphalt road ways are in good condition. The location feels safe, within easy walking distance of restaurants. We stayed one night and would stay here again. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Crazy Horse Campgrounds has the potential to be a great campground, but the management lacks any professionalism and it seems they do not care at all about rules, regulations or cleanliness. I would stay at Crazy Horse Campground again, but would certainly make sure it was not in their peak season. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Great views, very quiet, staff is accommodating. No Verizon service at all. Well water (really bad). Campgrounds was pretty clean considering that spring breaker just ended. Plenty of shopping & food in walking distance. I would return to this park. I planned on staying one week, but stated two. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Myself along with three other families camped here for three nights. When we arrived we found that the electrical hook ups were at 103 volts which would not run our AC units. This is not a good thing during July at Lake Havasu. When we notified the staff, they indicated it was a known problem and they probably should have notified us when we pulled in. Also, we were welcome to go to another campground(on July 4th, right). We ended up running our generators for 3 days. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Most of the Sunbirds that stay here in the winter say "This could be a wonderful park because of the very friendly people that stay here if the management would just clean and fix up around the park. The management does not seem to enforce many park rules. If they would clean it up a bit it would be a great plus. Many sites have absolutely beautiful views of the lake and the great Arizona sunsets. Lakeside sites have no sewer connections but the park will come around and pump you out. Wi-Fi is iffy. There are many activities and I agree most of the people are very friendly. We camped at Crazy Horse Campgrounds in a Motorhome.
