Stayed here over Christmas, very nice park. We were in site 51 and it was great. Would give it a ten, but didn't have sewer hookups. Nice spaces, fire ring, picnic table, shade, plus a nice view of the river. The staffers were very friendly and helpful. Huge sites lots of room between units. Has a very nice dog park also! We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

We drove around and over the dam and back to Parker on the California side and visited all the campground on that side of the river. Very interesting, but the sites at Buckskin are much larger. Also drove up to Lake Havasu for Christmas Eve dinner and then back up the next day to take in the London Bridge and Lake Havasu State Park and other sites. Nice place in the winter, but summer gets very busy with boats and stuff.

We stayed for an overnighter as we have done before. This time was disappointing as our site was close to several large groups of tent campers on a Saturday night. It was fairly loud until thankfully it started raining! The park itself is very nice and scenic. However, we could occasionally we could smell the sewer pond where we were staying in the park. Lastly, the water at the dump station for cleanup was on the wrong side, being placed opposite the dump by where the RV door opens. Perhaps this is so people can put a hose down there toilet!? We might stay here again but not in this section of the park. We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a very nice state park. We had one of the sites with sewer and our view of the river was amazing. It was unusually warm for late October, low to mid 90's so we needed our air conditioner for most of the day, but the nights were nice enough to sleep with the windows open. At this time of year, the market is only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and both the restaurant and arcade are closed. We will definitely stay here again. We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was a great State park on the Colorado River. We stayed here in a 45' MH. The road and sites are paved. We only had Electric (50amp) and water but some of the pull through sites have sewer. We had a 54' back in site which was easy to negotiate but not enough room for us to keep our truck. They need to do some serious tree trimming as we could not drive down the street where we had our site. We had to go to the other end and back up the one way street. If you have a tall rig be careful on your site. Even the tree at the entry gate needs to be trimmed. Luckily it is like a weeping willow and did not scratch our coach. Luckily we stayed in spot 44 which had no trees. Wifi was non existent. We used AT&T hotspot to get on the internet. I would stay here again. We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

This park is everything that a State Park should be. Only problem is that the water taste funny. Buy bottle water and use that for your coffee, will taste much better. Other than that this is one great park. We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

I was staying at their "sister" park (River Island - also very good) and decided to try Buckskin Mt. because they have great hiking (River Island has a short trail but will eventually hook up with the BM trail). The staff is extremely friendly, gift shop well stocked and with both parks a huge plus is free Wifi. In Buckskin you have to have a site closer to the front to get it in your rig. I wish all state parks would have wifi! I was in Site 11 which was nice but only for smaller rigs. Park not far from supplies and gas. Will definitely stay here again. Expensive for a state park, but you can't beat the spectacular location in the canyon on the banks of the Colorado. Probably crowded during the season, but lots of trees and grass with widely spaced sites. I will definitely stay here again. We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

Great state park right on the Colorado River. Decent size sites with water and electric. Some sites have nice shade trees and others in the open with small trees. Because down in the canyon, poor cell and zero OTA signal. The store and restaurant were not yet open for the season. Definitely need to have reservations. Local stores easily accessible for most needs. Staff friendly. We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed here 13 nights. The sites are a bit close, but very clean. The volunteer group that keeps the campground clean and running was friendly and worked hard at keeping everything clean. Showers were set for nice warm/medium hot temperatures and always clean, as were restrooms. We booked 6 months in advance heard people saying they could only get in one or two nights, but they booked very late. No T-Mobile signal for cell, but our verizon data card worked great for WIFI calling on these phones. WIFI in the park was there but very poor. Nice DVD Selection as were used books in the visitor center. Right on river, occasionally you could hear a boat travel by, but only about 3 during our entire stay. Some sites have sewer, ours did not, so we dump about every 5 or 6 days. Close to Parker Walmart up the road about 10 mins.
Very large tall campers & buses were struggling with the tree branches hitting the top and sides of their campers, but the staff would come and trim, but looked like a major pain for some. We did not have any issue as our camper wasn't as tall. We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Park is located on the Colorado River and has an excellent beach and even a dog beach. Utilities function good and there is a cactus garden near the front entrance. A trail up a small mountain provides a scenic view of the area and river. The staff is very helpful and friendly. Stay here again: Yes! We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Motorhome.

We have stayed here before, but this time the restrooms were closed due to a clog somewhere in the system. You had to go to the cabana area to shower and use the restrooms, which was quite a distance away. Be careful, too, if you make reservations online, that you get away from the sewer pond because it is very smelly. Most sites are water and electricity only. If you want a sewer hookup, they are not easy to get. Apparently, people know that they have to make reservations a year in advance to get these sites during the snowbird time and those sites are usually booked, it seems, by the same people every year (we recognized several of the rigs from last year). The store and many facilities are closed in January. There is very little cell service, ours did work sometimes. Television reception on an antenna is non-existent. The nice thing is that the sites are roomy and the staff is very helpful. We would stay here again since there is very little else available in the area. We camped at Buckskin Mountain State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
