Easy access location, a bit of a steep drive, but go slow and you’ll be fine. Office was efficient and very helpful. Escorted us to our site, offered to help direct into the site to allow room for the slide. Quiet camp, well maintained and close to everything in Payson. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We loved this park. Entire park is gravel, but neatly maintained. Trees between sites, beautiful area. Site was not quite level, left to right, and was low in front. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Accompanied to site and told how best to exit. Site was VERY narrow. No space for lawn chairs. No picnic table. We camped in a 30' MoHo without slides in site #11. Although it was close to office, etc. we could not get wifi. The park was clean and had lots of bushes and trees. We paid $46.99 taxes included, which I considered definitely too high, especially for meager offerings. We just needed electric and had to supplement with our generator due to a park-wide power outage. I would not camp here again, given the price. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Site 19A. Escorted to site and advised best route to use when leaving Steep entrance drive; could see scrape marks on road. Very dusty. Site was level but no room for table and truck. Quiet, they allow wood fires so smoke was in air. Only dumpster was located away from the sites and was totally full when we arrived midweek and was overflowing when we left Saturday morning. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Desk clerk was unfamiliar with cc machine, and they would not accept check. Had to pay cash since we wanted to leave before Mgr arrived at 9 or so. Entrance is steep, and sites are not level. Culver's is across street, a plus. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

The staff are always helpful, courteous, and customer friendly. They drive through the park at least every hour for security and in case you need anything. The pool was being remodeled. The streets are dirt but are fine for driving. Right next door is the college trail for hiking. The grounds are kept up daily. We pulled into our spot in a 43-footer with no issues. We also had room next to the RV for two full size trucks. Each spot has trees and shade. The WiFi is spotty which is normal for Payson. Playground is fun for the kids. Very quiet from our standards. I am not positive about the nightly rates. We are full timers so we paid by the month. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Positives: There is foliage around each spot, so if you want shade, you've got it. Also, when we pulled in, a worker (without our asking) made another camper move his truck, which was parked in the drive, so we could pass. Finally, the spot was long enough so that we didn't have to unhitch, as we requested.

Negatives: The spots are not level. You will need a few blocks, no matter which site you are in. They are tight, so you will be able to see in your neighbor's window if your blinds are open. The "dog areas" are little chain-link fenced spots about the size of our dining table - one next to the dumpster, the other next to the playground. Bring your own "doggie" bags. There was a dead javelina in one of the walking areas that had obviously been there a while. We were there on a Friday night, and there were at least three groups at three different sites partying it up until 12:30 am. Music blaring, bottles clinking, etc. The sewer hook-up was higher than the RV which really isn't the best placement, gravitational-speaking.

To sum it up: This time of year, none of the forest campgrounds were available; however, next time we stay in Payson, if this is all that's left, we'll be staying in the Walmart parking lot. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Have a 40' MH plus tow. This campground was a former KOA, sites are very close and hard to navigate on the narrow campground roads. Very clean and neat and the staff is very nice. Driveway up is steep . We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The park is on a sandy hill, large ruts throughout, difficult to maneuver around. They said I would need reservations and charged my card immediately then said that there cancellation policy was no refunds but I would be able to use the days for up to a year. The sites are all sand most very narrow and not long enough. No table but the WiFi worked ok. I would never stay here again, find another park!! Stayed a month and it was fun; staff was very friendly......think they added some recently which might offset some of the bad reviews. Very pretty, rustic location with lots of trees and very convenient "in town" location; the sites are "paved" with chipped granite so does look like dirt but is very hard (sometimes "dusty") but very quaint. Great place for us for the month we were there. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Went to Tonto Natural Bridge....very nice! Got my knife sharpened by a guy named Chuck and it is awesome! Visited Scissor Shippers for a tour of the facility. Tinys restaurant has a breakfast just down the street for $2 (2 eggs, 2 bacon & 2 cakes= "2+2" special)

Also Macky's at SawMill crossing is wonderful; Dimi Espresso on beeline is the best cup o joe, too

We stayed in this park mostly because of the lack of other parks in the area. I'm not sure how GS gave this park such a high rating unless they consider rutted dirt roads a value because all that they provided was dust and dirt in your RV by vehicles passing by, and beware if you're down wind when the vehicles pass by. I would not stay here again. Dog areas where small and hardly used. The employees where friendly and willing to assist when needed. The owners however could do more to improve the condition of the roads. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed 2 months. Lots of Dog poop all around the park. Lots were not cleaned up after people left and the next people had to put up with the garbage. When checking in was taken to the lot and told by the lady you are on your own I don't help. Around in the back side it could be hard to back in on your own with out help. The lot we had washed away after every rain storm and trying to get it fixed was useless. Will not go back until things get fixed. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This park is one of those parks that advertises gravel sites and roads, but forgets that the gravel was put in 15 years ago. The grounds are 80% dirt and little pea gravel. This park is a dust bowl! The park offers no propane or supplies of any kind. The WiFi is poor and there is one trash bin for 80 sites. When I contacted the office in regards to receiving a package, I was told to contact the Post Office for a P.O. Box. Receiving customer's mail was too much trouble for them. There are three parks down the road. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Narrow sites leave no room for awnings, picnic table or fire ring unless you have a small rig under 32'. Water pressure very low. 50amp sites for long term stays, most sites 30amp only. Park seems friendly until they have your money, then they think they can say whatever they like to you and if you don't like it you can leave, and no refunds. WiFi ok for web surfing and email, but will not support streaming movies or Skype. We will not stay here again. We camped at Payson Campground & RV Resort in a Motorhome.
