This is quite a different sort of campground, but we liked it PROS A huge variety of sites Lots of trees Incredibly quiet Stargazing = excellent Several things to do besides camp (caverns are worth it - we've been in a lot. These are 'dry' which is unusual Along Rte 66 CONS - ok it is a bit pricey but worth it to see the Rte 66 Fun Run, tour caverns, and have a really quiet place to camp. This is basically it for camping in the area. There is no campground map, and sites are all over the place. Drive around and find one you like and where you will fit. There are both camping sites (no hookups) and RV (elec/water). There are some really good sites near trees and with some privacy.

The roads are a little confusing, but there is a 'main' road that somewhat circles the campground. If you have a big rig (we were double-towing so 60' long), find a good spot to temporarily park then walk around to find a site Everyone seemed very easy-going - not tons of rules The restrooms/showers were nice and spacious - i think there are 6 to 8 of them - private with shower, sink, toilet in each. very clean We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

$40 for a 30amp EW site This was our first time camping in the desert and what a wonderful experience it was. The motel, dinosaur mini putt, Route 66 dedication, etc., are total kitsch, but it works. The motel and pool are located on historic Rte 66; with the RV park, caverns entrance, and the restaurant being 1 mile off the highway along a paved road. Sites are FCFS and are spacious with most having some trees, a picnic table, and a BBQ grill or fire pit. During the two nights that we were there over the July 4th holiday, there were only 4 other RV's so it was very quiet and private. While the daytime highs reached 37C (98F), overnight it dropped to a comfortable 18C (64F), making sitting outside having our morning coffee a wonderful desert experience. From 5 to 10am free continental breakfasts are offered to all motel and RV guests. Laundry is also free, though there is only one washing machine. The spacious individual restrooms with free hot showers were old but very clean. There is a dump station. As this park pre-bills your credit card, you must mention your Good Sam membership when making phone reservations, as they refuse to give the discount upon arrival. We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We wanted to drive to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and this is the closest campground. We were the only ones there for two nights. It is very expensive for a water/electric site without any OTA reception and extremely slow Verizon internet. The sites are not marked very good so we picked one that we made a pull through. The site was level. There is a mini golf course with dinosaurs which we did not use and a restaurant that we did not eat at. There are caverns at the campground and they were very busy. We did not take that tour either. We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Reminded me of "tourist traps" on the 50's in Florida when I was a child (before Disney arrived and wiped them all out). Worth a stop just for the experience. They do have some spots in the lower section right off route 66. If you want to patronize the little bar, that is the better place, the upper sites are more convenient to the restaurant at the upper facility. We stayed at this park on our way to the Grand Canyon. It's a lot of fun; dinosaurs, caverns, mini-golf and bits of odd Americana : ) It's a ways off the road and the dirt sites can be a little difficult to navigate; but the night time sky is awesome and this place is quiet! The bathrooms and showers are "rustic". Two of the showers had families of ants living in them. The laundry facility was free. Our kids thought this place was cool and reminded them of the Mystery Shack from Gravity Falls. We'd come back just for the fun oddities... We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This campground was great! There were probably 3-4 people in RVs while we were staying there, and maybe a handful of tent campers as well. So, we really enjoyed the openness and sparsely populated campground, with no one near us for at least 300 yards. The bathrooms are individual little rooms with large, clean showers, a toilet, and a sink. That's a really cool feature, instead of the usual "dorm-style," crowded, share-everything (sounds, smells, etc.) typical campground bathrooms! No sewer dump at individual sites, but there's an RV dump station near the front of the compound.

While this campground lacks certain amenities, that's what we liked the most about it: No Wi-Fi or cell phone service in this area, no TV stations came in on our antenna. It's truly an "Off the Beaten Path" kind of place. Yet, you still had free use of swimming pool, continental breakfast included, the marvelous Cave Tours, and more. We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived late April for a stay of one night in our RV. It was cold and windy. Staff was very friendly and we could choose our own spot. Is was not busy at all, and we found a nice level spot with pull-through. I used the shower/restroom, which was very spacious and clean, nice hot shower.
The restaurant at the Caverns entry serves a limited menu, mostly burgers, but it was the best burger I had in months!
Next morning we were pleasantly surprised by the complimentary breakfast. Lots of items to choose from and very tasty. We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Motorhome.

A visit to the caverns is worth the detour if you are planning a visit to the Grand Canyon. Beautifully situated on route 66. If your kids love the movie 'Cars' check out the collection in front of the gas station.

A one night stay while passing through the area. The park is past it's prime and a bit expensive for what's offered. Gravel roads and site with some washed out. Water and electric only, no sewer. They do have a restaurant and gift shop as part of the Caverns complex. We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Motorhome.

Was here for a special Mother's day weekend special. Stayed Fri to Monday. This RV park is on Route 66 between Seligman and Kingman AZ. If you want to go somewhere and just unwind, this is the place. It's very quiet at night and not much to do but sit back and relax. All the restrooms worked and the showers were clean and big, with plenty of hot water. No problem with the 50 Amp or the water at our site. I will agree with the previous writer that some of the sites were not level and it took some maneuvering to get the MH is a position for being level. There are new owners and they are trying to get things in order, so as to get more MH's off the 40 freeway. This area is in the high desert and is as good as it gets for the area. We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Motorhome.

Just say no and move on. The roads and sites are all gravel and dirt/mud. The lanes are super narrow and sites either have no trees at all, or trees jutting out so it scrapes your RV and stops you from putting out slides or canopies. The site numbers are hard to follow. They built random wood fencing in spots throughout the park - perhaps meant as decorations? - which also makes it difficult for turning. The "facilities" are in what appears to have once been an old single-wide trailer and supposedly contains restrooms, showers and a laundry. There is little to no phone service in the area, no Wi-Fi (little to no signal even with personal hotspots and booster), and no sewer hookups (drive a mile back down to the inn for the dump station). There are no lights around the campground so it is scary, but may be perfect for star gazers

If you are in to primitive camping (that just happens to have electric and water) that costs the same as paved sites with full hookups in other campgrounds, then this is the place for you.

We did try to call ahead the day before and the day of and left messages. Almost decided they were closed when no one returned our calls, but on the fifth attempt, someone answered. After one drive-through looking at potential campsites, we decided not to stay. We went back less than 15 minutes after paying to get our money back and were told they would keep $10 in fees. When I asked where this policy was posted for customers, she said on their website (which you can't access because there is no Wi-Fi Internet service).

We were so disgusted with the poor conditions of the RV park that we didn't even try to do the cavern tour there which had good reviews. Rude people with little to offer. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campsite is looking very tired and in need of a tidy up . Only one of the doors on the shower rooms/bathrooms closed and locked.

All of the cowboy /dinosaur theme stuff has flaky paint .

Food in the restaurant was good and cooked fresh but the staff were not particularly welcoming or informative. We would not visit again and would not recommend. We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were told to definitely see the caverns there. It was a bust! We paid for a night's stay, and when drove down to the camping area, it was worse. The water and showers were not working do to broken water mains. There were two port-a-pottys there for anyone needing to go. I'm sure they were used, because some boy scouts camped there that night. We could not find a site that was anywhere near level. A lot of them had water runoff low spots. I would not recommend this place at all. We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Motorhome.

Very quiet and some shade. Trash not picked up, portable toilet was tipped over close to the space we took. When we told them, they did come to upright it, but did not clean it up inside where it had spilled out. The laundry was filthy. Over priced park that has not been maintained for many years. Overall Rating:

It was difficult to choose an "overall rating" because the natural beauty was great; however, the campground had litter (bottles, bags, plastic utensils, paper, expelled shotgun shells, etc.) strewn about the bushes and trees. We even found a hypodermic syringe in our fire pit. Additionally, all of the campground trashcans were full and overflowing. There did not appear to be a camp host, or anyone who oversees or maintains the campground at the time we were here. We checked in and learned that they do not have maps of the campground, you just find your space and park. The layout is haphazard and it's difficult to figure out what's a site, and what's not (think BLM land with electrical boxes). Also, it should be noted that we were charged the tent rate, due to their water being out, which we were not informed of until we arrived. We loved the rustic area, and the people we did encounter here were incredibly nice, it's just lacking in the upkeep. We camp often, and love the rural feel, but this is easily the dirtiest campground we've encountered, it just ruined the overall feel of this beautiful area. Campfires are allowed, there is no sewer at sites. The electricity worked well, but we had no water except for what was in our tank. We did not use the campground bathrooms, which looked poorly maintained, and dirty; nor did we use the many port-a-potties set up throughout the campground. The cavern is beautiful, and is the only attraction in the area. Our biggest complaint was the excessive litter and lack of maintenance. We camped at Grand Canyon Caverns RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
