This used to be a decent park and was sold couple years ago. New owners don't seem too interested in renting nightly or transient travelers. Lot's of full time/permanent guests. New this year, the horse track now has 'Off Track' betting parlor so constant traffic & noise. Kind of like staying in a casino parking lot. Spots are small, unshaded and plain. No trees. Parking lot with hookups. 30 amp only. Only 2 pets. So if you have couple dogs & a cat/bird/mouse or butterfly, you can't stay here. Out buildings old, run down and dirty. Minimal services but close to town. Nobody obeys the 5 mph park speed limit. Homeless people roaming the camp & trash cans. No security or fencing/gate. OK to stay for 'drive thru' but honestly, I would rather stay in a Wal Mart parking lot and save the $40. Close to town. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

This campground appears to be mostly permanent trailers. Very large. Appears to be nice sites but we got the last one available and it was a back in with no table. No shade. Lots of areas to walk dogs. But beware some permanents have very large loose dogs. Lots to do in Prescott Valley. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This park doesn't have any amenities and it is 10 miles from Prescott. I thought $500 per month plus utilities was a little high for the location and lack of services. The charge for utilities is very high compared to other parks. The site needed weeding. They have 3 washers and 4 dryers, which isn't much for a park their size. There is a 10% surcharge for paying monthly by credit card. We won't stay there again. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

First of all, this is NOT a fairgrounds. It is a private RV park on what used to be county property. Hence the price and the good accommodations. Full hookups & extensive CATV. Well maintained and pleasantly landscaped. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

Sites were very wide; the park was clean and quiet. All the hookups were in the back of the site. We had to buy $100 worth of sewer equipment to connect; we needed 30 ft total and they require all of it to be off the ground. They have cable, no wifi, 2 of the 3 washers were out of order. Only option for walking/jogging with my dog is to loop around the park which is about 1 mile.

We found Prescott a cute town (~30 mins away) with great hiking. Others must feel the same which is why we had a hard time finding availability anywhere in the area. Felt ripped off when I saw that I was paying more for two weeks than the monthly rate of which there was no availability. Didn't appreciate neighbor flying confederate flag. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate is an Escapee rate. This was a great park to spend a week while exploring the Prescott area. The sites were gravel and super wide. All sites had a paver patio with a half fence for privacy. There were several long term residents but all were nice and tidy without a lot of extra stuff around. Easy access to the highway and far enough away so to be nice and quiet. Would stay again. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for a month. The gravel sites are roomy; the roads are paved. We had no trouble leveling the RV. There's a very nice patio, but no table or fire ring, and no shade. The laundry room and activity room are large and very clean. Washers are $1.75 and dryers are $1.50. There's a book exchange and jigsaw puzzles. The people in the office and throughout the park are very friendly. We would stay here again. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This park is privately owned even though it is near the Yavapai County Fairgrounds race track (which is run down and has been sold). The park is pretty much in between Jerome and Prescott so it makes a good base for exploring the area. The vast majority of the sites are occupied by long term residents but the park is very well kept up. The people that run the park are very nice and are very helpful. The roads are asphalt and very wide. You could easily drive a long tractor trailer through this park. The sites are very wide but they are pretty spartan. The utilities work well but if you are in one of the back-in sites they are all at the back end of the site which makes a long run for the sewer. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take a drive over Mingus Mtn on 89alt and visit Jerome (old mining town). If you have time and a high clearance vehicle take the drive from Jerome to Williams, Az on Perkinsville Rd. About 2/3rds dirt, 1/3rd paved. Very scenic country but it is about 55 miles one way. The day we drove it in a 4wd Geo Tracker the road was in very good condition and we made the trip in about 1.5 hours and then came back via the highway.

Price reflects an monthly rate, we always stay here when in Prescott Valley, the park has no amenities other than a few washers and dryers ( they should have twice that many) however the roads are wide and paved, the lots are wide all gravel. The park is well maintained and the staff are outstanding. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed at the Fairgrounds RV Park last year for 3 weeks. This year we are in the process of moving to the area, so are staying for 6 weeks. The campground is well maintained and the staff are very helpful, professional and great to work with. The sites are full service and large enough to park our 5th wheel and 2 vehicles and still have space. We highly recommend staying at the Fairgrounds RV Park. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The office manager and the park manager were very nice to work with. They accommodated my request to extend my stay, even when it meant shuffling some upcoming reservations. Note the office is only open 9-3 weekdays. We had plenty of space to back in our 36-ft fiver pulled by a Volvo 770 tractor. We were able to park the Volvo in the area against the back fence, which was directly across the lane from our site. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This park has turned into a long term resident campground. The priority of management is to fill all of the sites with long termer; any sites left are for transient campers. We stayed at this campground for almost 2 weeks and most of those days the campground was filled.

There is a combination of pull-thru and back-in sites. The utilities for the back-in sites were located at the back of the site. The utilities for the pull-thru sites were located at the middle side. All sites are FHU with 15/30/50 amp electrical service. The electrical voltage was good but the water pressure was low. All sites had a small patio and all of the sites were very spacious. There are no fire rings, picnic tables, bathrooms or showers.

The interior roads are asphalt and the sites are on gravel. Most of the sites are fairly level.

There are (4) washers @ $1.75 and (4) dryers @ $1.50 for 40 minutes, a book exchange and WiFi located in the club house. Verizon air card reception was slow but the phone reception was good.

We would definitely call ahead before arriving at this park. We have a 32 foot 5th wheel. We camped at Fairgrounds RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Great park. Very clean with wide spaces for RV and toad. Plenty of surrounding area to hike or walk the pooch. Close to Walmart, movie theaters and restaurants. Full hook ups 30-50 amps. No pool, restrooms or showers but clean laundry room and library. Sites have individual patios. Need to call ahead for reservations. Good rates. Stayed in a 31' RV for two months.
