Noticed right away how clean it was, gravel instead of grass with paved road, level parking gravel site with concrete patio. Full hook-up, sufficient space, some long time sites. Friendly neighbors, clean sites. We choose no picnic table or fire pit as we were using as base for side trip. Pool/spa ramada 2 showers with restroom, mailbox, next to laundry $1.00/30 min dryer $.75/45 min (4 ea) $1.00 ea pkg detergent by machine dispenser quarters available in office right across entrance driveway. Over 70 sites. Free WiFi, cable TV, light rail/city bus, close to shopping and other activities. Lot 47 in back, back in spot no tow, some plane noise otherwise no problem for us. Yes I would definitely stay here again!!! Worth checking this one out, very friendly helpful staff. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to shopping, didn't do any other activities here this trip. They have a zoo, 100+ events and festivals in downtown Tempe and Tempe Town Lake, 175 mi bike paths/trails (free bike share), 4 connecting freeways, 5 miles from airport, sun shines 330 days a year.

We, a Dutch family on our first visit to the US, stayed one night at Apache Palm RV Park in order to return our motorhome in Mesa. The only garbagecan we could find was closed so we put our little bag beside it. The next morning the manager wanted to charge us an extra 5 dollars for cleaning up the garbage that had unfortunately been spread out in front of the office, presumably caused by a dog or cat. Even though we apologized, she still charged us for the little clean-up. An hour later we returned to the office with a second garbage bag and our question was again where the garbage cans are? We were not allowed to drop it in their garbage can. Instead she insisted that we should take our garbage with us in the RV and leave the park (!) which we eventually did to avoid further escalation and to return our motorhome in time. We have been visiting several hundreds of campsites in Europe in the past 30 years, but we never experienced a situation as unfriendly and unwelcoming as this! During our stay in the US, the staff of all other RV parks were very friendly and helpful. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

A welcome packet is given to each guest at check-in. Among other things it includes a site map with the location of the trash dumpster and recycle bin, both located centrally in the RV Park for our guests convenience. Since our trash service is provided by the City of Tempe the trash receptacles are never locked.

Be aware of the 14-day cancellation fee. We had a reservation for five nights; asked to change it to four when we arrived but too late, had to pay for five. Park is small with sites crammed in everywhere; some are wider than others. Access to sites is not a problem as long as you pay attention to where you were going. Restrooms, pool and the grounds in general are well-maintained. Location is convenient to any place in Tempe, and even downtown Phoenix since the light rail station is across the street from the park. Some airplane noise when the planes take off to the east, but generally quiet at night. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed at this park because of the convenience. We were meeting friends. Spaces very, very small. Attitude very different. Offered a reward if you caught someone throwing a cigarette down or let your dogs "poop". Free nights stay. Did not want pets urinating on their trees, etc. Encourages you to take pets to an empty lot down the street which was riddled with broken glass. Employees spent many breaks sitting outside the office smoking.

You could catch the trolley right across the street. Very close to shopping and college.

Told you when you stayed no regular spots open. Had to pay the extra for a spot which gave you a picnic table and Bar-b-q. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2015 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

Apache Palms is a dated but well maintained park. The park roads are just a tiny bit narrow on the curves, but Large 45' motorhomes come and go without any significant problems. I had to back up to make one of the tight curves in my 40' MH, but fortunately I had disconnected while my wife went in to register, and we were able to make the turn into the park towing a 17' dingy by taking both lanes of the busy frontage road. ALL the roads are one-way, but some of big rigs HAVE to exit using the entrance, and it can make things "interesting" because motorhomes cannot backup when towing. They have all the normal things like a pool, laundry room, & showers, but all are small to tiny. There is no dog run, grass, or club house. The trees are too small to qualify as shade trees. The spaces are gravel with narrow cement pads. The WiFi was the most frustrating I've used at any park, which is one of the reasons for an "average" rating. Repeated frustration from waiting for pages to load, having the signal disappear, and restarting the computer was the daily cycle for three weeks. Have you ever read one of those reviews that starts out, "The staff was really great ...." ? Well, this isn't one of them. The problem seemed to come from one person who set the tone for some of the others, but one of the men was very nice and helpful. I want to emphasis that the one staff member NEVER said one thing that was wrong; she was just an expert at unintentionally raising your blood pressure by tone, body language, and abruptness. Examples. After making our reservation, an extreme heat wave set in (110-115). I phoned for an early check-in to beat the extreme heat. (Safety issue, people died from being caught in the heat while we were there.) She was unconcerned. Check-in was 11 AM. Period. Rules are rules. We pulled in a few minutes after 11, wanted a different space than the assigned one. No luck. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

I am sorry tired of this park. Have stayed here for convenience only because of ASU student and proximity. The manager can't stop smoking around everyone. The "free" WiFi sucks. Only 7 spots away from the office and can't get hooked in. The owner throws a fit when poor WiFi is brought up and it is our fault it isn't working. The place suits our needs, but the service stinks. This is a parking lot park. Place to sleep. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

This park is nothing special. It's a typical paved parking lot with rock in between some of the sites. It's a good location for all that Tempe, Scottsdale, etc., has to provide. Or, if you're like us, a good location for business purposes. There is a small pool and it is very well maintained. We would stay here again if in the area. Please be informed that past two people, they charge for everyone in your party, including infants. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our 1 night stay here. Easy for 40ft plus tow. It was in town, so it was a little packed in. But there seemed to be space between the sites. The sites had level concrete pads, with an adjoining spot for tows. The pool was nice and relaxing at the end of the day. The park owner is very nice. The park is clean and well groomed. The Metro rail is right outside of the park entrance, although we didn't try it. We would stay here again, if we were back in Phoenix/Tempe. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

Ease access for a 40 foot class A. Concert pads, good power, excellent water pressure. Location seems to be in a lower class part of town. I like to try new places, but would come back to this park if I needed to be in this part of the city again. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

I was satisfied with my 1 night stay here. It was easy enough to find and access, the park was very clean, the full-timers/long-term blended in, and reception was friendly. My site was level and functional. Internet was good. Despite the close proximity to major roadways, I slept well. It's not the sort of place where I'd want to sit out on the recliner and absorb the day but it is a good base for visiting Tempe/Scotsdale/PHX. I did not try the rail but it is conveniently near. We loved this park. Our site was near the pool and the kids loved it. The entire RV park is clean and well maintained. The staff is OK, not overly friendly. The best part is the location near light rail and near down town Tempe. We would definitely stay at this park again. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice little RV park right in the middle of Tempe. The spots are pretty tight. The roads in and out are pretty narrow. We were in a pull through site and had to exit down the one way entrance because I couldn't make the turn towing my car. Cable worked good, bathrooms were in good shape. We didn't use the pool but it looked decent. Had coin operated laundry facility available too. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.

RV Park Staff very helpful and friendly. Restrooms and laundry clean and in good working order. Park itself is quiet, clean and RV sites concrete slabs. We are first time RV Park users and were pleased with our choice of park. Located close to public transport system which for us without a small vehicle was ideal. Supermarket and fast food outlets within walking distance from park. We camped at Apache Palms RV Park in a Motorhome.
