Not friendly to Class B campers; bathrooms in pool building and were locked at night from 10 to 7! Very much caters to full time residents. We camped at Western Way RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

I agree with a lot of what another reviewer says in his/her review from January, 2019. Resort is very clean, roads are paved, sites are large enough for your RV with your tow vehicle parked beside it and a cement pad in between. Laundry, bathrooms, library, pool, sauna all looked clean & in good order. I would rate this park higher but for two things: the entire time we were at Western Way, the WiFi was weak & spotty at best and cable TV was available for an additional monthly fee. When I asked the office how much it would cost, they could offer no details at all other than to hand me a card with a contact number. Word from the "snowbirds" in the park was that so many people now days have their own satellite TV & WiFi booster in their RV that management was not interested in upgrading either. All in all, we enjoyed our stay here, especially the desert owls in the distance singing us to sleep each night, but park would have garnered a higher rating from me if it had had reliable WiFi & Cable TV. We camped at Western Way RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Park is close to everything in Tucson. For a short desert walk, try the trails that are next to the south end of the park.

Note this review is coming from a baby boomer who is bringing up the tail end of the boomers. Western Way RV “Park” has nice facilities that are kept clean. The bathrooms/showers could use some updating. Laundry is $1/wash and dry. Clothes lines are available as you cannot hang you laundry at your RV. Everyone who lives here is so friendly & welcoming, and very helpful. There many volunteer-run activities. For this place to be a “resort” they should have an Activity Director and weekly meetings. In order for this RV part to stay competitive they need to evolve into the millennium and use modern technology to communicate; emails, texting, etc. Their announcements are a piece of paper posted at the mailbox which is ineffective. When I see these residents in their 70s and 80s pulling out their smart phones they can handle electronic communication. One major concern I have is that there is no AED on site.

Restaurants we visited nearby. Coyote Paws and Tiny’s. Both highly recommended. Buy “The Book of Fun” for Tucson area. Well worth it. Go visit “Old Tucson”. Plan on spending a few hours there, especially if you like western movies. There are restaurants there too.

All short term RV sites were gravel with concrete patios without furniture. Although it felt a little cramped, it was very quiet. There was both free and paid (high speed) wifi; we used only the free (that was off and on the first two days then fast and dependable the third day). This is the perfect place from which to visit the Desert Museum, Old Tucson, Gate's Pass, and Saguaro National Park. We camped at Western Way RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The only restaurants reasonably close are in the small strip mall across Kinney Rd that cater to the retirement communities. Los Nopales was OK Mexican food with friendly service. House of Cheng was the worst Chinese food I've every had. You can do much butter buying frozen at Walmart.

We really loved this place. It did not have that big park feel . The long term people were very friendly and informative. The staff was also pleasant. There was not fenced dog run but there was plenty of walking area just outside the gated park. Looked like there was a lot of activities if we were staying longer. We found plenty to do outside the park as well. A visit to the Sonora Desert Museum and Old Tucson Studios is a must. We also found our way to Mission San Xavier del Bac "The White Dove of the Desert". Definitely on our list for a long term stay in the future. Although this park is very large, it felt very comfortable and quiet. This was about 7 miles off of the freeway. It was in a very beautiful desert setting. There were quite a few seasonal residents. It seems very well run. We were only there for one night, so did not use any of the facilities. There are separate areas for campers with pets. There were beautiful desert trails where we walked our dog. The only drawback was that there was no cable TV. We would definitely go back if we are in the area again. We camped at Western Way RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a very well kept park just outside of downtown Tucson and very close to Saguaro National Park and the Museum of the Sonoran Desert. The wifi was exceptional, the best I've had in five months of traveling. We were actually able to stream Netflix! We camped at Western Way RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Saguaro National Park is extraordinary. Also, don't miss the Museum of the Desert. We saw a raptor show where the raptors flew a few inches over our heads. There are great walking paths and lots to see.

Just a one nighter at this park on our way home due to a late start from the campground we had just spent a week at and had to leave due our maximum stay time being up. This is a senior type park with many permanent residents but a very friendly environment and good service all around. Our back in space was located in the rear of the property and situated in between many permanents but it was clean and with a good amount of space between us and the neighbors on each side. The facilities are first rate with a very nice pool area and bathhouse, etc. Great staff who got us checked in quickly and had an escort take us to our site and offer to help us back in and then showed us where everything was, etc. Located at a crossroads area southwest of Tucson just south of the old Tucson Movie Studios and within walking distance to shops, eateries, a hardware store and a Dollar General to name a few. We would have no problem staying here again................. We camped at Western Way RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Several very good cafe's and shops within walking distance and there is a decent sized laundromat located in a small shopping center across the highway. Also a donuts shop that makes some of the best donuts we have ever eaten..........

We camped here in a 42' Motorhome with a tow. The staff here is over the top wonderful and friendly. We were greeted the moment we arrived and they already knew we were coming and instantly took us to our site! It was easy to back in and we were amazed that the entire spot next to us was for our car...very spacious compared to other parks we have stayed in Tucson. There was a strong sense of community with a lot of activities every day. We used the fitness center and made friends there as well. We highly recommend this park as a great place to stay :-) We camped at Western Way RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

You can walk right across the street for places to eat, dentist, hardware store. Also right next to the Dollar Store across the street was a walking/ biking trail. I took the dog for a walk that went for miles and it was beautiful early in the morning!

Western Way is a little southwest of Tucson in an area called Tucson Estates adjacent to Tucson Mountain Park and a short distance from the Saguaro National Park (Western portion). Like so many 55+ parks in Arizona it has a mix of park models and RV sites. We had a back-in site which was mostly level, gravel with a concrete patio and a grapefruit tree. They have good facilities with heated pool and clubhouse. The park is clean and the staff were very accommodating. The Wi-Fi worked well and restrooms were generally clean and well maintained. Rate based upon a weekly rate. We camped at Western Way RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

This Park is beautifully maintained, friendly staff and seasonal visitors. Gorgeous views of the Tucson Mtn. Rate indicated is based on weekly rate. Registration parking is in gravel parking lot across street south of office. Extremely friendly, efficient and knowledgeable office staff. You are escorted and assisted to your back-in site. Quiet, well located and strong utilities, graveled, level site which has a concrete patio and no picnic table. Centrally located recreation bldg with outdoor pool, pool tables, hall and many activities. Mostly park models and few short term sites with many snowbirds. Walk in desert right from park through gated fence on west end of park. Would stay again in this quiet, clean, well located park on west side of Tucson. This large park has not too many sites for temporarily visitors. It is the only park in the vicinity where we got "no vacancy" as an answer, the first time we dropped by. Very large (and over 30 ft wide) fairly level back-in sites. Nice swimming pool and a small spa next to the recreation building where many activities are offered. In the building you'll also find the laundry room and clean restrooms and showers. No restrooms anywhere else in the park. The park is very quiet during the night, no annoying traffic, train or airplane noise. Park offers free open Wi-Fi, but that is not worth the name. Wi-Fi signal strength is bad and connection holds for about a minute or two. That's why the owner displays a sign: 'Wi-Fi connection not guaranteed'. Paid Wi-Fi available.

Your full hookup has no cable and your antenna will pick up about six TV channels. We stayed a week in this very nice park, however the discounted price of $46 per night is (IMHO) rather expensive for the offered services. We camped at Western Way RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is OK. It is clean and quiet. However, for the nightly rate of $46.27 (after Good Sam discount), we feel it was overpriced because we still had to buy cable TV and Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi was not very strong. We camped at Western Way RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.
