Date of Stay: March, 2018 - $1.00
Overall Rating:

This is our 2nd stay during March of 2018. Liked this quiet park very much. Very friendly staff and nicely maintained. No pickle ball but enjoyable though smallish pool. Big pet walking area on the backside of the park which is where we stayed. Really liked that the park is on the North side of I-8 which made it quieter and much less traffic. Getting in and out of the park was very easy. Very reasonable annual site fee if one wanted to stay for the entire season. Will be back next year. We stayed free with our Trails Collection membership. We camped at Cactus Gardens RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

The rate shown is without any discount and does include a "resort fee" of $3/night. Very nice campground with level, back-in sites. Wide interior roads make backing in to your site easy. Campground hosts are extremely friendly and helpful. While there is little traffic noise, you will hear trains...unavoidable in southern Arizona. Cactus Gardens is convenient to shopping and sightseeing. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Cactus Gardens RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Nice, comfortable park. We were here after most snow-birds hit the road, so it wasn't crowded. Very friendly staff, great pool and hot tub. Shade trees at each site, but need to grow a little more. The Wi-Fi is in the library and is available till 8:30 p.m. The laundry room is clean but you must fill a card up to use. Makes it a bit inconvenient if the office is closed. We were close to everything in Yuma as well as Algodones in Mexico. We would stay here again. We were here a week. We camped at Cactus Gardens RV Resort (55+ park) in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This park is clean and neat, with medium sized trees. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Everything about the park is great, but the trains. They go by all night long, with many blasts from their horns. Some nights they are every 20 minutes. Consider this before committing. We camped at Cactus Gardens RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

A snowbird park, really empty now. Many permanent places, lots of what appears to be RV storage on the sites. Very narrow back-ins, trees at the front of some sites interfere with awnings and slides. Staff was very friendly and went out of their way to make sure we faced the way we desired (refrigerator on north side). Distant train noise, not a problem, though. Rate is Passport America. We were there in February, too - very full and crowded. Better be friendly with your neighbor then! We camped at Cactus Gardens RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very old depressing park with a lot of ancient RV's. Small sites consisting of stone with a small slab of concrete for a patio. We only stayed a few days which was a big plus. I always read the old reviews & had to laugh at the "dog run". It's not enclosed at the ends and is actually an unused dirt and sand road. We spent alot of time researching the RV parks in Yuma. Between the military air base, the active railroad through town, and I-8 running east/west, it's challenging to find any quiet place to stop for a few days. We used our Coast to Coast membership to get the noted rate. The park has alot of snowbirds and folks who live in the park year round. They are, in our view, the most friendly group of folks we've met in a long time! The office staff is very friendly. The park has a nice dog run in the back area. Were it not for our discounted rate, we'd probably travel through Yuma and not even stop. If you can travel through the area and stay elsewhere, it's probably a better bet. We camped at Cactus Gardens RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a typical Arizona geezer park, although the sites are larger than most, including those of the sister park (Desert Paradise) next door. The $19.20 rate we paid was Passport America, which is not offered Jan-Mar. The regular rate is $33 plus tax per night. The WiFi was fee-based, so we didn't use it. They have a nice book exchange. The laundry is weird. You have to buy a $2 smart card, then load it in increments of at least $5 (more if using a credit card). Any leftover credit on the card is your tough luck. They have a nice pool, spa, billiard room, etc. Nice folks both at the desk and staying in the park. We camped at Cactus Gardens RV Resort (55+ park) in a Motorhome.

We were scheduled to stay at this park for 2 nights with a Passport America discount and had paid a one night's deposit. However, due to mechanical problems with our truck which had to be towed, I called to cancel the same day we were due to arrive. After the friendly staff member checked with a supervisor, she returned our call to advise that our deposit fee would be refunded when verified with a copy of the tow slip. When arriving at the park to provide the requested information we found that it was clean and well maintained. This is a 55+ park and had several park models but also many motorhomes and trailers. We would definitely consider this park when in the area again. We camped at Cactus Gardens RV Resort (55+ park) in a Fifth Wheel.
