Overall Rating:

A very large 55+ gated park in a great location to explore Yuma. There are 453 lots, which are a mix of small, very attractive casita style homes and back-in rv spaces (no pull throughs). Sites are FHU with cable, gravel and spacious with a large concrete sitting area but no picnic table. Check-in was a breeze, with information packet provided (complete with key cards for gate/common areas and mailbox key) and escort to your site. We stayed in site 313, a corner site which had open space on one side and behind us, making it feel more private. Our site was positioned so that the rig gave us shade all afternoon (sites across from us had full sun), so keep that in mind and refer to the park map when booking. Some sites have obstacles such as power posts and/or light posts at the front making backing in a challenge. Nice desert landscaping with a few trees, but the park is mostly open with no shade. Wonderful amenities including two pools, two hot tubs, putting green, shuffleboard area, pickleball courts, library, fitness room, large billiard room, several dog parks, outdoor bar and even a small restaurant that delivers to your site! Tons of planned activities, including live bands/concerts, pool parties, chef prepared dinners, etc. Eight private unisex toilet/shower suites which were large and cleaned daily, with additional bathrooms/showers next to the main building (but all might require a bike ride to get to depending on where your site is located). Trash pickup at site twice per week. Internet provided but we didn't use. Utilities worked well, and Verizon signal was very strong. Intermittent noise from the nearby military base, a train (but no horns), and construction noise. Friendly staff and regular patrols by security. Price reflects buy one month get one free deal for new guests, plus electricity. This was the nicest resort we have stayed at and can't wait to return! We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

There's no shortage of things to do in Yuma. Walmart is about a mile away. Several small stocked lakes in the area for those who like to fish. Three casinos are 10 miles from the park. Lots of restaurants and shopping within a few miles.

Called and asked about pull through - young lady said no problem plenty of room. When we got here no pull throughs period. Wish they would have been honest. Nice place. Another issue is they advertise affiliated with Good Sam but no discount and are not actually a Good Sam Park per the same young lady. When I ask why it showed Good Sam on RV Park Reviews using Rvtripwizard, she said it got you here didn't it. Didn't like that. We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 6 months starting 11/1/17 and took advantage of their first timers discount of 6 months for the 3 month rate. This is the nicest RV resort we have ever stayed in. The sites are spacious with a paved patio, the grounds are immaculate, tons of things to do, a restaurant and bar poolside, designated lap pool plus large pebbletec play pool, barbecues every other weekend with bands, concerts...just a spectacular place. We will definitely stay again for the winter months! We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Yuma is a great city. We had stayed in Surprise the previous 2 winters and Yuma has it beat hundredfold. Close to Los Algodones for dental and vision work, great places to eat including a little fish taco stand in the Yuma Foothills on Fortuna Blvd right off I-8. Walmart is close by, other chain grocery stores including Sprouts which we love.

We stayed there for the months of Feb and March. Got in on the 2 for 1 deal, so that made the price very good. The site was very big (40ft. wide by 60ft. long). Staff was excellent. The park was kept very clean. Excellent gated security. Excellent fitness room with very good equipment. Billiards room was very good. Lots of entertainment. Overall, a very good park/resort. Interior roads are paved. We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Price reflects one week at peak season and part of one off season. No discounts offered. We arrived late in March and were a little disappointed to see less attention to landscape along walking trails as in the past ... reduction in rocks, weeds, strewn with dead leaves, etc. Dog areas not well groomed as in the past. Lots of weeds in the gravel of some of the sites were something of an eyesore. Overflowing trash bins on Sunday afternoon. Beautiful homes and lots for sale appeared to be very overpriced. Our site had electrical pedestals at the front of the site which made parking our toad extremely tight. Still a lovely resort, but something of a disappointment for past visitors. We will return. We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We absolutely love this place. Number 1 in yuma hands down. The people both owners and guests are very social and love to meet new people. The resort complex is first class as are the employees. They have real grass dog parks for small and large dogs and are very dog friendly with a dog washing room. Tons of activities and a very active community. If you are looking for a great place to relax and enjoy yourself then look no further. We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Upon arrival this looked like a great park. The place is kept well, the dog parks are very nice. staff is a bit businesslike, but not offensive. Our first day we actually looked at extending our stay and looking for a permanent site or house in the park, but then tried the wifi. Great stay all ruined by the worst internet you could imagine. Tried for 6 days.. got on once...for about 45 seconds... If you don't need internet this might be a place for you, but everyone uses internet to stay in touch today.. told us we could go to the clubhouse and get on but... what a hassle. Selling lots for a lot of money...should use some of it to get at least some internet..and providing picnic tables wouldn't be a bad idea either. We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This campground was easy to find from the interstate. Check in was quick and easy. Senior staff at the front desk was consistently abrupt and unfriendly. Other staff members were friendly and helpful. Sites are wide and long with plenty room in between. All full hookups worked as expected. Cell service was good. Cable TV worked well. WIFI worked well at the clubhouse, but not at the sites. Restrooms, showers and laundry were clean. Great gym, good looking pools and spas. Pristine shuffleboard and bocce ball courts. Lots of concerts and activities. This campground has several dog runs and plenty of places to walk your dog. This is definitely a pet friendly place. This was our second and last stay here. This is a nice place, but there's lots of really nice campgrounds in this area for less money where you don't have to tolerate the attitude of senior staff. We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful resort with some very friendly guests. The lady at the office was so nice and accomodating. They had put us in a site that we couldn't possibly get into with our 43' Truck Conversion, so she easily moved us to a site that was easy for us. We stay here as the sites themselves are large and there is a fairly large gym on site. We found this time that some of the gym machines needed a bit of work. There were quite a few barking dogs that got to be annoying and some pet owners were not very responsible and were not cleaning up after their pets, both dogs and cats (cat poop in the horseshoe pit!). The resort is very pretty, with some very nice looking casitas spread around. Everything is kept up nicely, trees trimmed and roads swept. The washrooms are separate units with toilets and showers and are very spacious. The wifi is free through Tengo and worked well. We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The park is beautiful landscaping through out the park. The sites are spacious and long. All sites are back in but the interior roads ae wide. They are angled not straight back-ins. The park staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a gated area with guards on duty around the park. The park is designed for long term stays. There are some small homes built on some sites, not the typical park models, these are nicely done. It is a great park. We would return if in the area. Overall Rating:

As with other reviewers, this is one very good park. We have a 43 foot motorhome, which we backed in. Wide spaces between sites, even though we parked our toad on the side of the coach. Two beautiful pools, hot tub, and rec center. The burger bash (held twice a month) draws a good crowd, with local music being played - very nice event. They also have other similar events (check schedule).

Two concerts a month. Make sure you book the concert early. The best seating, which use a high back chair and soft seat are used. If the concert is booking up, they use "fold up chairs" which are not comfortable and painful.

Friendly people visiting. The only thing I can gripe about is the electric. For twenty days, we got hit with a $120 bill. The electric portion of the bill was only $60, the rest was taxes, EPA, meter reading, etc. This is not the parks fault (although they do collect $10 to read your meter and bill you) - but is the fault of Arizona power.

All in all - good location, great park, good sites, good service, nice friendly visitors (i.e. neighbors), and events. A bit more cost than other parks, but worth it! We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Let me state this resort is impeccable, the lots are gravel but spotless and level, power is clean, lots of water pressure and your permitted to wash vehicles, etc. on Tuesday! A central location for on/off I-8 and close to Los Algodones for shopping/dental work, highly recommended! But it's noisy, vehicle traffic, air traffic, train traffic all night and every night. Other than that this place is a real gem! We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for 3 months in a 42" 5th wheel. Nice sites on white crushed stone and large concrete patio. The facilities are 1st rate with the exception of the WiFi system. First park we have ever had to purchase WiFi from an outside vendor because park quality at site was so poor. The park charges for electricity at rate of $0.16/kwh (higher than normal). These extras add to the base cost of the site fee so be aware. However, the people are great, the activities are many and the facilities are 1st rate. The gated community and the casitas spread throughout facility give the park a nice feel. They have a wonderful library and game room along with a nice fitness facility. Service at front desk could be somewhat improved by having more knowledgeable people. I basically had to beg them for my electric bill because it was so late in coming. They also could not tell me electric rate cost at check-in. We camped at The Palms RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Yuma is a dusty, agrarian area with fewer activities than many places. All the necessary stores/services are available within short drives. There are some community theater productions and a few hikes worthwhile near the mountains. It's a nice place to spend winter, but would not want to live here.

Third stay and each time we stay longer and still wish that we had stayed even longer yet. We love it and our dogs love it. Most pet friendly RV Resort that we have ever visited and our littlest dog is depressed that we are no longer there and she can no longer go to the large fenced dog park and visit all the other small dogs. We love all the activities at the park and all the amenities especially the gym and the lap pool. Sites are gravel and large with a concrete patio. Water, sewer, electric and cable is good. WiFi is the only weak point, gets overloaded during peak hours to the point of being unable to connect, slow and/or drop offs. Except for one area of the park, the paved roads are well lit making evening walks around the park looking at the high end casitas and coaches enjoyable. The entire park is fenced with a gated entry with security. Your GPS may send you way north into the farm fields. With stays over 30 days electricity is separate. Rate shown is the sum of the base rate plus electric divided by the number of days. Electricity is expensive at over $.15 per kwh so electricity cost can really jump depending upon consumption. There are separate dog parks for small dogs and large dogs so pick your site to be close to the appropriate fenced park or if you are more interested in the pool/spa/clubhouse activities also pick your site.
