Amazing Park. All of the Arkansas Parks show their upkeep and money invested and this one is even nicer. The park sites were impeccable manicured. We stayed in Site #3, thinking it was close to the lake. It was not. But the upside, it was close to the private shower room building, close to the Store. Sites 1, 2, 3, 4 have their Pros and Cons. The Pros: WiFi from the Store. Close to Shower (not shared, private shower room. #3 is the better of the 4, Even numbers on the inside loop, Odd on the outside. The Cons: Close to front, so everyone drives by you. The park has tall pine trees, a fishing pier, and the terrain is nice, not flat at all, rolling and gentle hills. Most sites are flat (1-2" leveling), but a few would be hard to park on and place wheel chocks. All spots have paved parking for a secondary vehicle, some next to site, some across from. The area next to the paved pad is crushed rock, it drains well, all sites have a fire ring, grill, water, electric. Dump is available in the camp. The website correctly lists the power available. Some pull through, some back-in. Fishing is good, we had some luck. The store has drinks, shirts, hats, bait(s), and other gear. Rents paddle boats, fishing paddle boat, john boats with or without motors. Bikes as well. Park has a playground, volleyball court (grass) half-court b-ball, and other balls for the kiddos. The hiking trail is nice, we did the Beech Ridge Trail, 1.5m and it was a very nice walk. We didn't catch the Bald Eagle, but another camper swore they saw one dive and get a fish...I told them that they are rumored to roost here in the winter, so it is totally possible. - TexanTraveler

Hampton is a small town near El Dorado, Fordyce, and Camden, Arkansas. It is not off a major highway, but if you are traveling in that area, it's a nice little campground. While there, we drove to Camden and visited some Civil War sites and went deer hunting. We used it as a base, and were not expecting to "camp" there. (although you could if you wanted BUT,--no picnic tables or fire rings though. We camped there three nights over Thanksgiving, and there were several 5th wheels and Travel Trailers that were there for deer hunting. Deer hunting is a huge sport in this area, this time of year. We felt very comfortable there in our 40' motor home. The owners were very accommodating. We wish there were more of these campgrounds along the roads in America. There are no cabins, pools, rental bicycles etc, but it's a nice place to park, and the price is fair for what you get. They had a very nice laundry room. This is a "no frills" park, but if you get down that way, it's a good place for any type RV. - reddie

Ok for a couple of nights, somewhat gravel site. The full hookup sites: 64,65,66. No on site manager. Lot spacing is spacious and mostly shady. Site surface is gravel. - Normxray
Apr 2014 - $20.00
This is a park for workers that are in the area for a few months at a time. Their are 3 distinct sections. The lots along the side of the lake offer good drainage and some grass. The pads are gravel that is somewhat covered in grass. The main road is black top and gravel but seems adequate. There are no campground amenities like tables, grills, bathhouse, dump station, or office. All of the El Dorado area is easily accessed from the park. Wal-Mart super center is only 1 mile away. The monthly rate was $350. - minidilbert

This is an overnight place to stay park. Mostly working class long term, I was one for five weeks. Felt safe with wife and son. Lake fishing. Arkansas Museum of Natural Resources close by and good museum. - wilmsd
