Our site was spacious, shady and beautiful on the bluff overlooking the lake. Some sites are right in the sun and close together. Water connection was a ways from the site. - Wisesong
Jun 2015 - $10.00
Rate reflects Golden Age Pass. Pretty park, best spaces are away from the water, spaces 1-7 being the best for peace and quiet. Most of lower loop are much closer together. A lot of day use traffic to the beach here, speed limit is 10 MPH, however the cars are moving about 4 times that thru the park. Water pressure is about 65PSI and electric was steady enough. Most sites are fairly level and several of the picnic tables are covered. There is a dump station but it is a long way from the camp ground (1/2 to ¾ miles to haul a tote). Also, trash dumpsters are over ½ mile from the beginning of the camping area. Bathrooms were clean, didn't use showers. There are 2 showers in each restroom. There is ranger presence here but it doesn't deter the speeding. The lower area and beach had high water when we were here, but we stayed on the upper area so it didn't affect us.The surrounding lake is very pretty. Although very busy during the daytime, the park was quiet after hours. The terrain is hilly which makes both walking and biking a bit challenging. Lots of birds and other small animals to enjoy watching. We would stay here again if in this area. - Fixn2gocamp

Nice quiet park. Great prices for nightly, weekly and monthly. Wonderful people running it. Bar and Restaurant on site. Swimming pool was smallish but private as well. Lots are good sized, which to us is important. And the Wi-Fi worked really well. They did not have a bath house or laundry facilities and for us that was not a workable situation for return visits, so though we loved it we probably will not return. Another perk, especially if you are a full timer, is that the post office is right across the street. - Gypsyroad

We walked in on a Wednesday. The office was closed so we picked out a spot right above the marina and stayed for 11 days. There are two camping areas to the park. Where we stayed by the water is more open, but still plenty of shade. Most of the spots had covered picnic tables, all had fire rings. The spots vary in pad length and patio size. It looked like a few could only accommodate smaller Class Bs or TTs. Our space was plenty big for our 27RKS and our sunset views of the dam were amazing. The larger area of the park was in the woods and also had various sized sites. Note that in both areas there are quite a few buddy-sites that if you aren't traveling with a friend in their own RV/tent, etc., they would NOT be good sites. Look closely at the map when making reservations or call the really nice gentleman at the office, There are a few sites in the wooded area that have sewer, but as someone else said earlier, this is not listed on the website. Although on the water, there really is no good place to fish from the park. There is a small beach area and there is a public boat launch. Make sure you pay attention to your GPS since there is only one very small sign on the main road for the park, and you can only see it when traveling from the east. - NovarroNomads
Oct 2017 - $19.00
A very nice park with what looks like a relatively new shower house. Sites are spacious and have lots of trees. I guess there's lots of seasonal sites as many were blocked off and not occupied. If you need to hook up to water, bring a very long hose. - MSSW
Sep 2016 - $10.00
Beautiful COE park. We had 50 amp service and water. Nicely shaded site with pretty lake view. Most of the campground is heavily wooded, and different sites have different amenities.
Loved the site we had, B16. - BWolfAR

What a nice campground. Next to a beautiful river and extremely well kept. Guides for finding that trophy fish are available for hire. We have friends in the area, so didn't get a chance to fish but next time..... - Mack2383
Sep 2017 - $32.00
Second time at this park and we chose to stay here because of the location. Both times the park was very dusty with no tv reception. WiFi was great so we down loaded movies. Only a couple of spots where you had a good view of the river. If some of the under brush was cleaned out the view of the river would be great. We will probably check out another campground on our next visit. - kcarter

Beautiful scenery. Friendly people. Has a super fishing guide. Space was very small and cramped. Difficult to back into, but lots of shade. Only 3 sites for RV's. No Wi-Fi and no cable TV in the RV sites. This resort is in a neighborhood. They asked guests to pick up after their pets, and we did, but the locals didn't. Despite the downsides, we would probably stay here again. - RubysMom
Jul 2010 - $22.00
Friendly staff, very helpful. Great fishing, Great bike riding. Fishing behind RV and tent sites. Narrow road in but big turn around area. Sites are shady, pads gravel but lots of grass and dirt. Tables and fire rings each site. - littlegeneral

Great for an overnight stay. No bells and whistles, just a nice place to park. Very large pull- thru with plenty of space between sites. Next door to Wal-Mart and many restaurants. Only 6 sites, full hook-up, cash only. Very easy in and out with our 34' 5th wheel. Only campground in town or close to town. Would definitely stay here again. - chas & sandy

Jun 2018 - $36.00
Arrived at Blue Heron Campground the week after Memorial Day Weekend and was not sure what to expect after seeing the last review from May. The photo gallery and site map was what made my decision to stay at this campground. The site I really wanted was by the river, secluded, and was shady with lots of tree coverage...however, we were unable to get satellite reception. I can live without TV...but hubby cannot. So we moved to another site that had great reception but fewer trees. Site was long enough for 45 ft. RV and tow vehicle with room to spare. It was also level and still a great view of the river! We did not have any problems with the bridge noise or any other noises. The only place that prohibits pets was in the tenting spaces by the river and I totally understand that. The rest of the campground offered many acres of "pet friendly" areas that were shady, mowed often, and enjoyable for us as well! The owners were fantastic and very friendly!! We were there for a week and left feeling like family! Blue Heron Campground & Resort was a relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful place. We will be back to fly fish and relax on the White River at Blue Heron in the future! - flyfishgirl
May 2018 - $33.00
Heads up.... I'm one honest reviewer. I believe in them & try to write them honestly. We had a river side site, would be nice if it were actually river side & not have tent camping in between. Read reviews that said "very pet friendly". I don't think that. Dog can't go near river, there is a pet area, not mowed, whole park was not mowed for Memorial Day weekend. We did have a full hook up site, not all are. Really loud area to camp, right by White River bridge heavily traveled day & night. Some sites are rather close to each other. No boat launch, have to travel to Cotter. He's working on it I believe. No fire pit at our site, but it was HOT anyway. Drive was long enough for 5th wheel, boat, truck. Aluminum picnic table at campsite, nice wooden ones at tent sites. Dump site was right in front of our campsite. I thought a strange place for dump site, in front of full hookup site. Didn't get any awful aroma, but campers do line up there to dump. Pretty little campground, not peaceful place though. Not real pet friendly. Heard vehicles hitting the metal plate on the bridge all night long. - AR Traveller

I called about 2 days before we arrived and manager told me that there were several sites available for the day we were checking in. He suggested that he could help us pick a great site since we were arriving early on Friday. We called when we arrived and he promptly met us at the laundry and took us to the site he thought we would like. It was beautiful and on the river. He was very helpful. The grounds were well manicured and facilities were clean. The sites had space between them. As soon as we arrived and hooked up, we found that our air conditioner wasn't working. We stayed until the following morning and decided to pack up and go home. We had paid for our 2 nights and we told him we were going back home. He said To remind him when we come back and he would give us a night free. He couldn't have been nicer. We will be returning as soon as possible. Can't wait! - sharonrn

We stayed three nights. Staff extremely friendly and helpful when needing trees trimmed. We parked a 43 ft fifth wheel in site 114. Maneuvering through the park was tight. Would stay here again. - ro90u14
Jun 2013 - $25.00
This is a nice peaceful campground, a few steps from the river. It has a combination of short and long term residents. The staff is friendly and go out of their way to make you comfortable. Internet is fast, and available from several towers. Rest rooms and showers are very clean. The office is open till at least 6pm and includes a well stocked tackle shop. Sites have shade, and many are pull through. - Traveling man
Jul 2012 - $25.00
In town visiting family in Flippin and Yellville. Great location near the river, friendly staff. Most sites are shaded at some point during the day. Some great nearby restaurants if you need a break from cooking at the campground. Wal-Mart is maybe 20 minutes away. I'd come here again. - michigan40camper

Not what they advertise on website. It should be called "Promise Land Fish Camp" minus direct access to the lake. It is definitely NOT a Resort: not even close! Pool needs to be replaced. All the docks are private. We had to walk a little more than a half a mile to find some rocks to fish from. Operator told us their dock was further away than the 1/2mile walk, we would be better off going the other way. When it says fire pits for every cabin, that does not mean the same for RV's. You get a community pit. They have only 4 RV sites. One looks like a guy lives there so really only 3. Only 4 sites should have been a big clue. Sites are hard to get to and it looks like they put them together real quick just so they could say RV park. The operator told us about a guy who stayed there the night before we did and he forgot to put blocks behind his wheels. He rolled off the gravel hill (backwards) and luckily that the tree behind him kept him from rolling down the hill into the cabins! This place was very hard to get to: not worth the drive. One of the biggest disappointments was NO SHOWERS (!!!) or bathrooms. They don't list that they do. That was my fault for not paying attention. Operators were very nice too bad their park isn't. - Beaner40
Jun 2010 - $17.00
It's a long way to park off the main road, but good directions are given. The 4 sites are all back in and not easy to get into. They are on a hill in the trees, on a dead end road. The power was good. the water was low pressure and off a pump. There was a nice pool, a game room and a small store. Town is about 35 miles away so bring all your food supplies. People were very helpful and friendly. We might stay here again. - Awesome Navigator

While primarily a cabin-type resort, there are 3 very nice RV sites available. Owners are very friendly and helpful. Nice swimming pool, great views of Bull Shoals Lake, boat access, nice simple store. Wonderful rural setting with lots of trees. - SeeTheUSA
