This is a nice park for a couple nights. We had good satellite reception. You have to be aware of sugar ants. They were in our motorhome with in 24 hours. They were going up our satellite connection to the motorhome. I had to spray everything inside and out. We would camp here again. We just have to be mindful of the ants. The sites are paved and are pretty level. - Joceil

If you're down here you know you are in swamp country. The park has 2 loops B and C. I have no idea what happened to A. They have a lot of semi permanent residents who have these above ground waste storage tanks that they pump out once a month. The thing I didn't like about this set up is that you are allowed to run your gray water out on the ground. In the summer I imagine this gets a bit fragrant. The initial impression I had of the showers was that someone or something was going to come out of the swamp and eat me or cut me up with a chain saw. However once I got use to the reduced lighting I found the showers were clean, had plenty of hot water and good pressure. They could just use some better lighting and repainting. The park roads are paved as are the sites. The verizon MiFi worked well. I saw a lot of remote satellite dishes with cables that ran across the roads so I'd guess that reception is spotty. This is a city owned park that was built by the COE. We paid $14/night at the senior rate. I imagine that they have some better long term rates available. You can hear the highway noise from Hwy 82 but it's not too bad. If you have a boat the boat ramp is right near the entrance to the park. - pumper9x9

We stayed in the park for six nights visiting friends in the area. The park is run by the city of Crossett AR. We liked the park and as a previous reviewer said, if you like to be in the woods and quiet areas this is it. It is not heavily used, probably because it is not advertised. Even the people we know in the area did not know about it. We learned about it on this site. The park was clean and the city sprays for bugs. The Ouachita river is two miles from the camp ground and there is a boat ramp. I think most of the use was "permanent" residences. Many used an above ground septic tank arrangement. I have never seen that before. I recommend if you stay at this park that you camp far away from those sites. We would stay there again. - DaveCh
Jul 2018 - $20.00
Nice state park with lots of shade. Swimming pool looked nice, but was closed for cleaning when we were there. Nice park area for kids. Dump station. - Bjb1775
Mar 2017 - $20.00
Brand new restroom, shower and laundry (free) facilities! Excellent water pressure, although only 5 sites were occupied while we were here. The host came over to introduce himself. We needed his help with our site, as our electricity monitor showed us a red light when we went to plug in. Thankfully we were able to move to another site. Beware that sites 6 and 4 had faulty electrical boxes when we were there. The site we ended up on, site 23, was very hard to level due to the many holes at various locations on the pad. Other than that, this is a beautiful state park, very quiet and dark at night. We liked it! - chantalcnrobw
Apr 2015 - $23.00
$23 per night was for a level asphalt pad with 50-amp electric and water site. Sites are generous dirt/sand/dead leaves areas with a picnic table on a concrete pad, fire ring, and pedestal BBQ unit. The whole park is loaded with different types of tall trees and low vegetation. There were abundant types of birds flitting about. The night sky is very dark so the stars are brilliant through the tree branches. All the facilities were in great condition and the park staff was very friendly and helpful. There are miles of multi-use and hiking trails. This campground is located about five miles from small town Bastrop where most amenities could be found. The park advertises that it has public Wi-Fi access but it was not working during our stay (they were working on a solution). AT&T and Verizon service was two bars of 4G LTE. We received five over-the-air TV stations and many radio stations. - DD Rolling Ranch
Apr 2018 - $15.00
Very nice campground. Easy access to good fishing. We had to pick up a little trash around our site. Bath houses are okay. Lower section was closed off due to high water. Very laid back and out of the way. Sites are large, a few have sewer connections. - TeresaN
Feb 2013 - $15.00
This park is run by Union County not the COE. The COE leases to the county. You can do long term camping at a rate of $290.00 a month. The park is very close to the Felsenthal dam. The park actually is located in the Town of Felsenthal. They park was very clean. The back part of the park was close due to lack of campers. The park does rent out RV park models (4 of them). - Joceil
Dec 2011 - $10.00
This campground is next to the Flsenthal lock and dam about 12 miles from the town of "Strong", AR. We were down here and checked it out but did not stay here. It has paved roads and sites with 30 amp power water and sewer available. Most sites just have water and electric. There's lots of shade available and the place has a few long term residents but not nearly as many as the Crossett Harbor campground. I think Verizon Wi-Fi will work here but it will be slow we only had 2 bars on our phone. The rate is the posted senior rate for water and electric hook up. I think the full rate was $10-11 for water and electric and water sewer and electric was $13. Looks like a nice place with out much hustle and bustle. - pumper9x9
