This place fills up fast. We arrived around 10AM and there were at least 6 sites open, including 3 of the coveted creekside sites. The park host showed up and we discussed our options. The sites are close together so you will smell campfires, hear children, and the occasional dog. Quiet hours are enforced so it gets quiet after 10PM. There is no WIFI and I could only pull in one local channel with my OTA antenna. I did have good AT&T signal so we used our hotspot to allow my wife to get her nightly news fix. The sites are full hookup with clean 50amp service. Water pressure was good, and I recommend a regulator. We did not use the facilities so cannot comment on them other than there are no showers. You must pay for your site upon arrival at a self-serve kiosk, but you cannot do so until after noon. Once you get your spot paid for clip the receipt to the pole in front of the site and you're good to go. One small nit with the kiosk registration that is worth mentioning: If the spot you want is paid for on the day you move in but the previous occupants left a day early it will show as Not Available on the kiosk. When this happened to us, we spoke with the park host who said he thought they'd left so it should be OK to move in. However, should the previous occupants come back we would have had to move. The park host assured us that if that happened we'd be able to stay in the parking lot and find a spot the next morning but we still slept lightly that night. The park hosts keep the park very clean but use leaf blowers to clean out vacant sites which can throw up a lot of dust. Make sure you don't leave your windows open when your rig is unattended, or you may need to do some dusting. This was our favorite place in Arkansas and the only reason I didn't give it a full 10 is the sites are very close to each other. However, the park is nice, clean, has full hookups, and is close to the city. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We used this as a base to explore the city, including the horse races, casino, and bath house row. Make sure you check out the hand carved mahogany back bar at the Ohio Club and imagine Al Capone or Babe Ruth having a cold one in the next booth over.

We arrived on a Sunday at 4pm and there was a creekside site still available. We must have been lucky because other days we saw the "no vacancy" sign get put out as early at noon. The campground is beautiful and quiet. There are quite a few sites that back up to the creek. The interior sites are all wooded and beautiful, too. We loved hiking across the rock bridge over the creek and up the mountain. We were told the trail leads into town behind the bath houses but we didn't go quite that far. The bathrooms are simple and don't have showers or hand soap. It is about 10 minutes to town where the shops and bath houses are located. It was nice being just far enough away from town in the quiet valley. Hot Springs is a little rough around the edges but we are still glad we visited. The promenade walk behind the bath houses was our favorite part of town. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

This is a lovely campground in Hot Springs National Park. Although it's first come, first served, we were able to easily secure a site (late Sept). Our site was a concrete pad, very level (not always a given with concrete for some reason). Our site backed up to the stream. Sites are private with foliage separating. Full hookups, good T-Mobile and AT&T cell coverage. We didn't watch TV so unsure of over-the-air channel availability. We highly recommend this campground. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Highly recommend getting an America the Beautiful pass ($80 annual if you are under 62). This cuts the rate 50% in this park. Check in and site selection is self-service.

Beautiful park, spacious sites, nicely wooded but we were still able to get satellite reception on our site. Campground host was extremely nice and helpful. Our site was not level and it looked like most sites were not level. If not for this I would have rated this campground a 10! Also, there were a lot of ant mounds. I got a few fire ant bites so be careful. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

Bath House Row and downtown Hot Springs was fun to walk around. Be sure to take the free Ranger tour at the Fordyce Bath House. Botanical Garden was awesome. Gangster Museum was fun. We hiked the Sunset Trail which needed better trail marker signs.

Pretty campground with FULL hookups, sites of various sizes, pretty stream. We arrived around noon and were able to find a large site in the middle. Our site was not level front to back, but most were. No road noise inside our camper. Sites were filled almost as soon as someone pulls out, so have a plan B in place. Pick a site, then use the kiosk at the registration building to pay. Concrete picnic table, grill and fire ring. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

We enjoyed this park very much, especially the full hook-ups for such a low price. (Our rate reflects the 50% senior discount.) Our site was a back-in next to the creek and was paved with a picnic table. No fire pit, but there was a grill. Good location for exploring the town and nice hiking up the hill right from the campground. There probably would be some road noise, but with our windows closed, we heard nothing. One bar of ATT LTE, but it was pretty unusable with out boosting. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

This is a wonderful national park campgrounds. The sites are first come, first serve. The campsites are very close together and very clean. ATT phone service was very good. There were 3 or 4 OTA tv channels available. The problem: everyone goes to national parks for the beauty of the park and desire a peaceful scenic setting. That did not happen during the five days we were at the park. The leaves were just turning and some were falling off the trees, not many. The park management had the employees out with leaf blowers everyday all day long. The employee would blow the leaves out to the road and then a street sweeper would drive by to vacuum up the leaves. Again, all day, five full days. Not only did we have to endure the hours of the noise everyday but the dust and air particles forced us inside our camper with the a/c turned off. All this noise and dust was just a waste of time because the leaves would be falling off the trees for the next month. Very sad that management has forgotten national parks are for the peaceful enjoyment for all. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

Diligent camp hosts, made their rounds frequently. Met us as we came in and escorted us to show us available sites. No reservations accepted and park filled up most nights (Saturday night had vacancies, go figure) by mid afternoon. Sites a bit close. Marginally big rig friendly. Back of rig sits pretty close to space behind. Length of pad was not quite long enough for truck, parked at restroom, was fine. But we would come back, pleasant park. Very nice hiking trails accessed from campground. Bathhouse row was impressive. Must have a "real" swim suit and flip flops. Observation tower had great views and historical displays, $5. Woodbine Race Track /casino interesting. Public water fountains in area where locals and tourists fill water bottles, many water bottles.

We arrived on a Thursday and there were about 15 sites to choose from. I think we got one of the best, right on the creek and by a little water fall too. The camp hosts call into the rangers at 10 and 4 and give them the number of open sites left. We called on our way in and got the good news, though I would recommend having a plan B just in case they are filled in. All the sites are full hook up and paved. The kiosk where you pay is simple to use and takes credit cards. The camp hosts saw us walking around looking at the available sites and gave us a lift and tour in the golf cart. We played in the creek. We hiked the 4 mile round trip trail into town several times. We had only planned to be in the area for 3 nights, but loved the campground and the hot springs area so much we kept extending our stay, which is a great advantage to a no reservation campground. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.

Start at the National Park visitors center and take ond of their free tours. Also the city's visitors center is worth stopping in for more local information too. Parking is free in town at sites with meters after 5:00 and on weekends. There is also a free parking garage in town too.

Since you can't make reservations at this campground we decided to come a little early to check it out. Upon arrival which was a Thursday we founds several empty sites and we styles in for a 3 night stay which ended up being a 4 night stay. We chose a site on a running creek with shoe trees. It is perfect. The site is spacious with a concrete pad with all the amenities - electric, water and sewer. The site is level and comes with a cool breeze. From this campground you can easily access the downtown bathhouses which we soaked it for $20. We took a ride up to Mount Ida which is the quartz crystal capital of the world. You can go into the mine or field and keep whatever you find for the senior rate of $6 each. Everyday we were here there were camp sights open even over the weekend, so don't worry about it being filled. This might change on the summer, we camped in the second week of May. I highly recommend this campground, it is beautiful, clean and very peaceful. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived at the end of the day and got the last campsite available at this lovely NPS campground. Unlike other NPS campgrounds we've visited, these sites are full service. The campground is lovely and wooded and right next to a delightful, rippling stream. The other campers were all friendly and courteous. Our site may have still been available because it was not very level, nothing that boards under the tires couldn't fix. The water was so delicious that we emptied our holding tank and filled it up. There is an odd system of paying for the campsite in an ATM type device located in a central building. A camp host was there to help us through the process. We were on a tight schedule to get someplace and regret that we couldn't have spent more than 1 night here. Definitely a place that we will return to. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Motorhome.

This campground is located in Hot Springs National Park and is all FHU sites. It is a really nice campground although some of the sites are a little close together. We had a perfect site (#27) that had shrubs on both sides for privacy an backed up to Gulpha Gorge Springs. It is first come first serve, so we felt fortunate to get the spot we did. Our site was level, we saw several of the interior sites that needed many blocks to level. I've read some reviews about the homeless using this park. We met one person that said he was homeless but he had a tent on a campsite so I'm assuming he paid. It was in the 30's several nights so he said he was going to go to Walmart for the night. A single lady told us one of the tenters came knocking at her door asking for coffee, so she ended up moving sites to be closer to the camp hosts. Probably our biggest complaint would be that the park is not secure and it does have a lot of people coming through it. We did see a ranger drive through a couple of times a day, but evidently the camp hosts are only there to keep the facilities clean. It was a self-serve check in. All utilities worked well. AT&T coverage was good as was Verizon. We were able to get a satellite signal at our site. We camped at Gulpha Gorge Campground (NPS Campground) in a Fifth Wheel.
