Apr 2018 - $25.00
It was poring down rain when we got there about 10 pm. The owner was out there helping us set up. Now let me tell you that it was an 80 year old gentleman. He was very helpful and told us how to set up. It was our first time to stay in the camper. We are going back there in July. Very nice gentleman. We only stayed one night and left early. Our site was across from the office. What we saw was very clean. - Sue Varvil
Feb 2017 - $25.00
Nice park to spend the night. The owner is very nice and helpful. Occasional trains but no problem. Slept good. Sites are back to back. Slide was very close to camper next door. - Chuck McC
Nov 2016 - $17.00
We stayed for a couple of days in a pull-thru mostly level site. Sites are side by side hookups, so you are close to your neighbor with space between the pairs on the other side. Laundry facilities with 4 washers/4 dryers at a very reasonable price. Owner came right over when we arrived and called, and was very nice. Quiet park and we slept well. We would stay here again. - User2260

Mar 2018 - $20.00
This is a good gravel park with electric water and sewer. Very accommodating to over-night stays. Some Traffic noise but not bad. Good value and easy access. - Volunteer Rambler
Oct 2017 - $25.00
This was my second stay at this park under the new management. The owner is a nice young man trying to attract business. I don't believe he has a website but is very responsive to a phone call or text. He keeps the park clean and it is very quiet despite the fact that it's just of the interstate. There are some long term residents but they are working people who are very quiet. Wifi was recently added to the park and it had laundry facilities. Each site has full hookups so there is no bathhouse. If you are passing through the area or attending a function at Harding Univ, I highly recommend this Campground. - TNknitter
Mar 2017 - $20.00
This park is recently under new ownership. The young man is eager to accommodate short term stays. Most of this campground is occupied by long term workers but, after having spent several days, I can say that it was quite during the day and they are all newer rigs. This campground is located immediately off the exit so you can hear interstate noise but leaving our fan on helped that. While there are full hookups, this place is nothing fancy. The sites are gravel but it took very little to level our trailer. It doesn't have a bath house but does have a laundry. It is a great overnight stop or if you need to be in Searcy, just one exit away. Much more convenient than the other campgrounds an hour away. - TNknitter

Apr 2017 - $20.00
My take: Fourteen sites. Nothing fancy; barely a campground. $20/night, $100/week, $375/month. No electric meters. Safety: no concerns - peaceful. Access: Take exit 48 off US-67 north of Searcy, AR. Go west to next intersection and turn right (north) on AR-385. Go 1.7 miles. When you see the street sign for "Mattie Lane", start slowing and signal a left turn. Big sign easily seen from the road. Short, narrow, unlighted, dirt/gravel road in "ok" condition which becomes a private driveway. Office: There is no office. Call (501) 593-9007 for a spot. Facilities: No facilities. Campground: Very close sites are all back-in; no tent area, yurts, or cabins. No overhead obstacles. Some sites are 30A, others at 50A but not both. Sites are gravel/dirt, almost level, no landscaping, with utilities at rear of your rig. Sewer pipe is about 3" above ground level. Water bib (sites 117 and 119) is in an enclosure below ground level which becomes a mini-pond when raining. No room for patios or picnic tables. Good satellite views. Ground fires not permitted. Adequate water pressure and taste. No propane sales. No cable TV. OTA TV found 24 channels. No Wi-Fi. Verizon coverage at "3-bars"; 4G at "1 bar". Distant railroad. Insignificant road noise, no aircraft. No recycle bins. Bug Report: Tiny black ants came up the water hose and electric cable. Runners: Roads not suited for running. Yoga: Ground surface not suitable for mats. Conclusion: If a spot is available, this is okay as a short stop-over. Most CGs in the area are filled with pipeline workers (April, 2017). - StephenK

Jun 2010 - $25.00
Mostly construction workers and long term residents. Train whistles all night long kept us awake. - lburas
Aug 2006 - $15.00
Nice Owners. Clean & Neat little park. Good for a stay over or long term but not ness. for a fun filled family time. In other words, not a vacation spot. Has an older trailer park next door and though some of the travel trailers in the park look ancient, everything is clean, neat, well maintained, and safe. Only 10 minutes from Searcy and minutes away from a great place to eat called "Who Dats". - kap7893

Great owners! Nice, friendly and helpful! My wife and I were very impressed with the cleanliness or the camp grounds especially the rest rooms and showers! We will be back for sure! If in the area, you should definitely consider it! - BC007
Sep 2016 - $20.00
This park is no longer Freppon. It is now Shady Oaks RV Park. See their website. The sites are in the process of being redone. - Ila
Jun 2007 - $20.00
This park is mostly long term residents in older units. There were 5 spaces for transients of which one had electrical problems. We came in late and paid the next morning. The manager was nice enough and told us there was a waiting list for "monthly" renters due to the natural gas drilling efforts to start in that area of the country soon. Sites were level, gravel and grass. They were close with no picnic tables. There was no playground or pool. On the positive side there is a large central mowed grass area and the park was quiet. I would only use this park as an emergency stopover. RV parks are rare in this part of Arkansas. - RVTravelerToo

Oct 2015 - $20.00
Nightly rate based on $137 weekly rate. The park now has wifi and it's good. Great lineup of cable stations. Park owners live onsite and are some of the nicest, friendliest people ever. Most sites are not very level, a consideration if you don't have self leveling jacks (luckily we do). Large park with several sites backing up to the Little Red River. Pull thru's back onto a large, open grassy field. Nice path down to the river and the dock. Note: if you're arriving after dark, ask for the lights to be turned on (sign is unlighted, large flag in front also unlighted). We arrived well after dark. made a wrong turn (gps a little tricky in this area), and had a very difficult time getting turned around. Also, no phone service (we have Verizon). Would stay again. - lovinretirement
Sep 2011 - $25.00
This a clean, quiet park with large, grassy sites. There are shade trees behind each site. Anywhere you park you will get sun most of the day. Many of the sites are not level and some have poor drainage when it rains. The owners are very nice and all the facilities (bathrooms, showers and laundry) are very clean and modern. There is a small fishing dock along the Red River. If you need to shop, the stores are several miles from the park but it is a scenic drive. We would visit again. - kandid61
Jun 2009 - $25.00
Very nice, clean and quiet park. Owners/management friendly and courteous. While the park lacks many amenities larger parks have (wireless internet, paved drives, etc.) we found our stay to be very enjoyable. - Ol' Joe

Mar 2008 - $25.00
Very nice place for fishing! The world record brown trout was caught near here. It can be a little tricky getting into some of the spots. The spots are close together back ins. Be careful pulling down to the trout docks with a big rig. you will end up backing out, no room to turn around. We will be back! - Martyman
Mar 2006 - $26.00
Some might not give this a 10 because you need to make your own fun (fishing). If you get a spot here it will be on a bank overlooking the Little Red River, a good trout stream. You can access this for wading right from your site or rent a boat and motor from the resort. Many cable channels available and you can get a wi-fi signal from the fly shop adjacent to the resort. They know and they don't mind. Be sure to be on your own side of the river if they start to generate power at the dam. You'll know by the incresed flow. Bring your own beer, it's a dry county! - raven

Apr 2017 - $13.00
We stayed here for one month while visiting family in Heber Springs. The park consists of two areas: an older part that is wooded, consisting mainly of full time or summer residents with RVs that don't move, and a newer area that is an unshaded gravel lot. The older part is pretty well maintained and everyone was friendly to those of us staying for a shorter term. There are also some metal buildings around that are used for storage and some light industrial activity. We had a pull through site in the gravel area that was level and very long. We had plenty of room for our 31' Class C and our Jeep. There was good room between sites as well. The water pressure was good, the electric box was modern, and sewer had a good location. A cable box was included in the rent and the cable worked very well. We had a great view to the Southern sky and had a strong satellite signal. The roads through the Park are gravel. They are wide and easy to navigate. The entrance is well-marked. The owners/staff were always friendly and helpful (we had to make changes to our reservation twice and they were very understanding). We had a few freezing nights and park staff placed a can with insulation over the water point. Bathrooms were kept clean, as was the laundry room. Although the gravel area is not very scenic and could be hot in the summer without shade, the park is located close to town, the Lake, and is a very short distance to 2-3 fishing access points on the Little Red River. You also do have a nice view of Sugar Loaf Mountain from the gravel area. Overall, the park is quiet and well maintained. We felt welcome and would not hesitate to stay here again, especially given the reasonable monthly rates. - Buckeyefan4
Nov 2016 - $40.00
Little bit different, the sites (mostly pull throughs) are behind several buildings that appear to be storage or repair companies. No trees among the sites, but they are wide & long. None of them are paved but very good rock for the driveways & sites. Since we came in after the office closed & was busy with family the entire time we were there...I never stepped foot into the office. But really didn't have a need. The overall area is quite, but we were there during the off season. While not right on the lake, you can be to it in less than 20 minutes with heavy traffic. - zhilton
Nov 2015 - $13.00
We stayed at this park for a month while in town on business for several events. We also used the park's facilities to hold an RV inspector training class. The owners were most gracious in allowing us to use a room in the office building to hold the 5-day class. They made sure our week of class went off without a hitch!
The newer area where RV's are parked is in the back of this 31-acre facility. This park was previously a KOA and it is now under new ownership. There are more than RV camping activities run out of this facility. There are a lot of older RV's parked and built onto in the old part of the park.
The newer part of the park is an all gravel area than can easily accommodate motorhomes with a towed. The electrical service was good, the water pressure was adequate, the sewer service was acceptable and the cable TV offered over 100 channels. Getting in and out was easy. The owners have worked hard to help identify the park from Wilburn road.
The staff are very accommodating and will do their best to meet your needs. We had several challenges during our stay and all was worked out to our satisfaction. - Howard Jaros
