Nice park and friendly/helpful staff. The nightly travelers are in a different section than most of the people who are staying an extended period of time. The pool was nice and a welcome place to cool off. We had to extend our stay and the staff accommodated us easily. We will stay here again f passing through. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We toured the pyramid in Memphis. Spend the money and ride the elevator to the top and walk outside. Not only is the interior view great but the outside river and city view is great also. Our granddaughter enjoyed all the shopping in Memphis as well.

Overall Rating:

This park is reasonably well located for a Memphis visit, however, be aware it is right next to I-55 freeway and the traffic noise can be considerable for outdoor activities. The park is mature, with big mature trees - containing lots of beautiful singing birds ....... pooping on everything - Just be aware. Sites are mostly gravel pull-thrus, with a few concrete sites which are in poor condition. This park would be quite muddy after a day of rain - saw evidence of ruts, etc. from prior campers. The best feature of this park is the staff. They are all friendly, helpful and genuinely care about the guest experience. However, this does not outweigh the other negatives and we would not stay at this park again. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

My wife and I stayed there for a week. It is a small park but, everything that one needs was there and accessible. The pool was great and the food for breakfast was fresh and delicious. All of the grounds were very well maintained. All of the sites were level and plenty of room to park our rig (36'). 24 miles away from Graceland and Beale St. Overall an excellent park. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Motorhome.

Amenity wise, it is about what you would expect from a typical KOA: decent sized pool, playground for kids, dog park, camp store / gift shop, propane fill station. The sites and roads are all gravel but they are in fairly decent shape and mostly level. Our site was dead level. It was just barely long enough for our 38 ft MH and towed car. If your MH is over 40 ft, you would need to disconnect your towed vehicle to fit. It was hot (94) when we arrived and, as the loop filled up, we started to experience electrical issues. The voltage would drop below 104V and the EMS system in my coach would disconnect the power unless we did not run the bedroom A/C. Luckily, by bedtime the voltage had recovered to 106V and we were able to use the bedroom A/C. There are lots of trees, so our satellite dish would not work. The park provides cable with about 40 channels. If you want to use satellite, tell that to the front desk when you make your reservation. There are areas that have a clear view of the southern sky. Access to and from I-55 is easy. Fuel is available at the exit from I-55. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for a few days rest before heading north. Sites are a bit small and had to work hard to squeeze the truck in sideways in front of the 5W and ended up partially in the neighbors yard. The sites were not spacious, but ours was level. Others were visibly not. All hookups were fine. WIFI was quite good considering the park was nearly full. The people were friendly, and credited us our last day when we left early due to bad forecast weather on our route. Highway noise was tolerable. About 1/3 of the laundry units were "out of order". We camped at Memphis KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

A tight spaced KOA with short tight turns, rock roads and mostly rock sites although some sites are concrete. A very tight entrance turn off the west frontage road if traveling south. The enter and exit sides of the drive are short and narrow. Three of us arrived at the same time and we were backed up to the frontage road. We were in site # B which was just long enough for our 43 ft MH + Toad and it provided adequate clearance for satellite reception. All the spaces in our row were narrow but several big rigs made it in by the end of the afternoon. Wifi adequate speed and incoming water pressure 48 psi. We did not use their CATV or other facilities. Work campers checked us in and escorted us to our site. They were busy with the arrivals but courteous and friendly. My impression of this park is it was built many years ago for smaller units and never expanded to meet the newer bigger RVs and fifth wheels. Located along I-55 the interstate traffic was noticeable when outside but nonexistent when indoors with windows closed and furnaces operating. The office area was well stocked with supplies/gifts and DiGiorno pizza, their own smoked pulled pork, and other meals were available for delivery to your site. The more permanent looking residents were in the back of the park mostly obscured by a house and security fence. Except for the size and tight spaces this appears to be a nice park that we plan on re-visiting to/from Texas in winter. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We were disappointed at the Memphis KOA park. This park needs maintenance. Many potholes in roads. Unsightly debris needs to be hauled away. Piles of chopped down trees need to be cut and split. The park was only 10% occupied and we couldn't understand why we didn't see workers doing maintenance like we do in other parks.

Many concrete pads in sites are broken, uneven, and chipped. After a heavy rain, we had to move from a gravel 70 foot site to a concrete 60 foot site because the gravel site had depressed areas full of water, there was basically a lake around our rig.

The washers and dryers in laundry room were old and outdated. Freeway noise was obvious but tolerable. The main positive feature this park has is it's close location to downtown Memphis (a 25 minute drive). This is why I gave a 3-star rating instead of a 2-star rating. We stayed for five days in our fully self contained 5th wheel but spent the days sight-seeing, so we were not so much interested in park amenities (pool, mini golf, rec room). Our KOA value card discount made the rate a bit more acceptable, otherwise I'd say the normal rate is overpriced for what you get. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This KOA is just off I-55, and traffic noise is noticeable around the clock (and we were in the back row). It is easy off-and-on the highway, so it made for a good overnight stop for us. Check in was easy, however, we waited outside for at least 5 minutes for the escort to our site before proceeding on our own. The campground has a small clubhouse, laundry facility, and a pool. Not sure I would want to stay for more than one night, however, as it is pricey for the amenities provided. Sites are all pull-through and gravel. Hookups were convenient. There were cement pull-throughs, but many were broken cement and were uneven. Navigation through the park was easy with big rig. They did have cable TV so we did not activate our DISH. Good Verizon signal, and their wifi was decent. Bathrooms/showers were older, but clean. Disappointed by this KOA. This should be a destination park, being so close to Memphis, but it felt like just another place to stop for a night. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a typical KOA that hasn't made site improvements in years and is well past when they should have been made. The concrete pads were all broken up and uneven. Although I asked for a pull-through with satellite reception, the first site I was put in had a tree blocking all signal. Add a large ant hill next to the picnic table and I asked for another site. After two days, I was given another "premium site" which was a good site. While I can't blame the KOA necessarily, we were INUNDATED with mosquitoes! We could not enjoy sitting outside at all and in fact, opening and closing the rig door would result in chasing at least a half-dozen mosquitoes in the rig. My big complaint is KOA doesn't seem to have a standardized definition of the use of "premium site". In OKC, it meant a beautiful patio with fire ring, patio table and chairs and it felt genuinely "premium". Here it was simply a designation based on what the park thought it should be called compared to their other less than desirable sites. If you are a large rig & towing, I would insist on being in sites A thru H. We camped at Memphis KOA in a Motorhome.

We did an overnight stay at this KOA on our way to the Nashville area. It is typical of most KOAs, with easy access to the interstate, friendly staff and generally well maintained facilities. Large trees and lots of shade. Our particular site was a pull-through with a concrete slab. However, the slab was cracked and sunken and moderate leveling was required. One of my Anderson levelers broke in the leveling process. Our particular site was on the end of a row, and did not have a grill like the other sites. Good place to stay for a night.... A few tight turns to get in and out for a 45 ft motorhome ... but doable if you take it slow. Great group in the front office, very friendly and helpful. The BBQ sandwich you can purchase and have delivered to your motorhome is really good! What Memphis BBQ should be. Didn't use any facilities as this was just an overnight stop.
