We stayed one night while passing through. The site was perfectly level despite being gravel and in a hilly area. Backing in was easy. The park was well maintained and clean. The lake was drained for maintenance and we were told it would remain so until after 2020. We were pleasantly surprised by the small, remote park's quality. - Tidy Boy
Aug 2016 - $10.00
We adore this park! It's right in my husband home town, so is very convenient when we go home to visit family. But it's just so lovely at the park in general we look forward to going there every time we have to go home. - KimberlyCole
May 2013 - $13.00
We love this park. Rate reflects state resident & ADA Discount. Our one and only complaint is that it's difficult to back into the disabled site because of the posts in the ground outside the bathroom/shower building. The rangers were all very friendly and helpful, yet not over intrusive. We took a nice class with one ranger on "What Trees Tell Us" and found it very informative. We can't wait to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone! - ColesCruising
Dec 2018 - $40.00
We were disappointed at the Memphis KOA park. This park needs maintenance. Many potholes in roads. Unsightly debris needs to be hauled away. Piles of chopped down trees need to be cut and split. The park was only 10% occupied and we couldn't understand why we didn't see workers doing maintenance like we do in other parks.
Many concrete pads in sites are broken, uneven, and chipped. After a heavy rain, we had to move from a gravel 70 foot site to a concrete 60 foot site because the gravel site had depressed areas full of water, there was basically a lake around our rig.
The washers and dryers in laundry room were old and outdated. Freeway noise was obvious but tolerable. The main positive feature this park has is it's close location to downtown Memphis (a 25 minute drive). This is why I gave a 3-star rating instead of a 2-star rating. We stayed for five days in our fully self contained 5th wheel but spent the days sight-seeing, so we were not so much interested in park amenities (pool, mini golf, rec room). Our KOA value card discount made the rate a bit more acceptable, otherwise I'd say the normal rate is overpriced for what you get. - Mnolasco
Dec 2018 - $49.00
This KOA is just off I-55, and traffic noise is noticeable around the clock (and we were in the back row). It is easy off-and-on the highway, so it made for a good overnight stop for us. Check in was easy, however, we waited outside for at least 5 minutes for the escort to our site before proceeding on our own. The campground has a small clubhouse, laundry facility, and a pool. Not sure I would want to stay for more than one night, however, as it is pricey for the amenities provided. Sites are all pull-through and gravel. Hookups were convenient. There were cement pull-throughs, but many were broken cement and were uneven. Navigation through the park was easy with big rig. They did have cable TV so we did not activate our DISH. Good Verizon signal, and their wifi was decent. Bathrooms/showers were older, but clean. Disappointed by this KOA. This should be a destination park, being so close to Memphis, but it felt like just another place to stop for a night. - RagTopDay
Oct 2018 - $50.00
This is a typical KOA that hasn't made site improvements in years and is well past when they should have been made. The concrete pads were all broken up and uneven. Although I asked for a pull-through with satellite reception, the first site I was put in had a tree blocking all signal. Add a large ant hill next to the picnic table and I asked for another site. After two days, I was given another "premium site" which was a good site. While I can't blame the KOA necessarily, we were INUNDATED with mosquitoes! We could not enjoy sitting outside at all and in fact, opening and closing the rig door would result in chasing at least a half-dozen mosquitoes in the rig. My big complaint is KOA doesn't seem to have a standardized definition of the use of "premium site". In OKC, it meant a beautiful patio with fire ring, patio table and chairs and it felt genuinely "premium". Here it was simply a designation based on what the park thought it should be called compared to their other less than desirable sites. If you are a large rig & towing, I would insist on being in sites A thru H. - bschilz
Jul 2018 - $15.00
Great stay, again, in this park. They have added five sites since we last stayed, concrete pads, various sizes. (The step down from pad to ground is a bit steep on the new sites, so watch your step.) We stayed in site 13, which was lakeview. The host ladies are very nice. No reservations, first come first serve, but if you call on the day of arrival and pay for that day on phone, they will reserve (place a with cone on site) for you. - Damon-Becky
Sep 2017 - $10.00
Campground is very nice and the hosts were extremely helpful and courteous. The park appears to very busy, but yet there is enough room to spread out. There was plenty of ATT cell service and there was plenty of shopping areas within a reasonable distance. - DuranDDuran1
Oct 2016 - $10.00
Love this park, as it is only 15 minutes from the only grandchild! We stayed here March 2016 for the first time, site 14, on lakeside. Stayed again in September 2016 for 7 days as last stop on a 4 site trip (site 26, top of hill). Stayed here again as 2nd stop on a 2 site trip (site 13 lakeside). We like the people, we like the ability to drop gray water. No sewer hookups but a easy dump station at camp exit. - Damon-Becky
Jul 2018 - $22.00
This is a simple park with full hook up, clean and neat, yes their are some cluttered permanents but it is convenient to town and the owner is on sight to make sure every thing is as it should be. A perfect place to be convenient to Jonesboro - Bruce and Janette
Oct 2017 - $25.00
Very easy to reserve, and they helped us to find our pull-through spot and get set up when we arrived. They gave us local area recommendations, and we enjoyed a nearby dinner. We were only there one night, passing through, and it was a great value. Quiet, clean, and easy to get in and out of. We were not there to camp long term, so we weren't concerned with facilities or amenities. We would stay there again for sure. - Ashley-RoadBloggers
Sep 2016 - $30.00
My family and I have stayed here a few times with our pets while visiting relatives. There is a few pull through spots in the front that we use. They're near the road but it's not to bad.
We call to let them know when we will be arriving and everything is always taken care of. We don't use amenities because we are running around with family.
It's convenient to shopping, churches, hospitals, gas, and many more things. If you are wanting ritzy then this might not be your place. If you are wanting convenience and nice people, it's exactly where you want to come.
If we are able, we will stay here when in this area.
Thank you Perkins RV for the kindness we have always received. - Cissis1
