Surprisingly level pull-thru with distant view of small lake. Good wifi. 56 channel cable with a channel guide. Clean restrooms. Good electric, sewer, water. Easy access but fairly steep loop into site. That was the good. GPS said we had a mile to go when we drove by the entrance so listen closely when the owner says that it is 6 miles south of the last light in Mena. We turned around in one of the competing rv parks slightly to the south. Acorns fall from the large tree making a sudden and startling "POW" on the roof. The owner's dogs run free and can result in quite a commotion if you have dogs. Two 20' cables are necessary to reach the tv cable strapped down a tree. One exterior switch controls the lights in both the men and women's restroom and the owner demands that the lights be turned off when not in use so it is possible that the restroom will suddenly go dark. We camped at Shadow Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Location is right off MO Hwy 71 south of Mena. They now take credit cards. Rating reflects the rate which is a little pricey. They have gravel driveways and pads. Park is pretty hilly, but pads are fairly level. No on-site store, but there is a Walmart Supercenter about 7 miles away in Mena. We had full hookups and WiFi was excellent. This park has some large shade treees and grassy areas that are mowed between the sites. They have picnic tables. Country atmosphere was helped by dogs, cat, Guinea hens and chickens. There is also a fishing pond you can hike around at the back of the park. They have screw in sewer connections. Water pressure was good. Electrical is 30 and 50 amps. Verizon was one bar and AT&T had no service available. There is cable TV. Road noise from Hwy 71 was not noticeable inside the RV. There were a few flies but no mosquitos. We camped at Shadow Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Impressed that hilly park had level sites reinforced with railroad ties and lots of shade trees that you could get big rigs through. Spacious with picnic tables and able to put out 5 dog fences attached together for our2 dogs not to be leashed outside with us. Lots of places to walk and explore around lake/pond. Laundry room clean and only cost 1 dollar to wash and 50 cents to dry. Swimming pool clean and cable worked well. Personal Verizon internet was spotty. We were in the mountains though. Would stay here again. We camped at Shadow Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The roads and sites are all gravel and the sites were level. The park is in a country setting, with lots of trees and a fishing lake down the hill. It also has a nice well-kept pool. It is quiet and a very nice place for a peaceful stay. The manager was very nice and helpful. The office / manager's site is the only eyesore in the park and needs some serious work. We enjoyed our overnight stay and would return. We camped at Shadow Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed for 2 nights for my husband's work in the area. The lots were unlevel and gravel, there was a pool but closed at 7pm, shower house and restroom but the power was shut off during the day and in the evening when we went to take a shower the owner told us to make sure we shut the lights off when we were done. There is wifi when we checked in the owner said if we use wifi don't stream videos it makes her bill really high the wifi isn't strong enough to stream anything anyways. We was told we could fish in the pond but it is catch and release but there is a lot of snakes around the pond area. There was random handwritten signs hung around the laundry area and shower house. Closest dumpster is close to the entrance of the rv park. Not a lot of people and the ones that are here stay for a long period of time. The site had electrical, water and sewer. We thought that it was a bit over priced compared to the other rv parks we stay at. I took pictures around the park and of the handwritten sign but can't get them posted. We camped at Shadow Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Owners were working hard outside on property. They have WiFi, but not strong enough to stream video (Netflix) This was a quiet place to camp. Site was gravel with concrete pad and included a picnic table. We camped at Shadow Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We camped here for three weeks while working the Mena, Arkansas area. The staff led us right to our spot and filled out the paperwork as soon as we exited the RV. Our view placed the fishing pond in the foreground with the mountains as backdrop (#10). Cable and Wi-Fi worked flawlessly during our entire stay. Certainly, the aesthetics have seen better days, but the 'dated' nature didn't detract from our stay at all. Plenty of room to spread out between the neighbors, and each site has a picnic table. We frequently fished in the pond catching plenty of Bluegill (Brim here) and Largemouth Bass. On numerous occasions, deer playfully ran through our campsite on their way toward the pond.

We enjoyed our stay here, and would definitely return again. We camped at Shadow Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

Relatively level, tree-shaded FHU sites built across a fairly steep hillside that slopes away from the highway. The owner led us to our site on her golf cart and filled out the registration forms right at the site. But, be prepared, as they don't take credit cards, so we had to write a check for our two-night stay. Seems a little overpriced for the off-season in a town as small as Mena. But better here than nearly being blown off the top of the mountain at Queen Wilhelmina State Park like the last spring we camped in the Mena area! We camped at Shadow Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Very nice, beautiful pine trees, level gravel type site. WiFi and cable available and both operated well. There was plenty of space for slides and awning plus a picnic table. It is a wooded campsite not a resort so keep that in mind. I did not use the restrooms or showers so I cannot comment on them. Some noise from Hwy 71 but not bad. Especially nice was that even though it was raining when we pulled in the owner came out to greet us and escort us to our site. She then returned with the registration papers and a very nice (handmade by her) gift. All in all we were very happy. The only reason I gave it a 9 was because of the highway noise. We camped at Shadow Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is a little on the rustic side, but has very friendly owners. Full hook ups, with 50amps. Big rig access is marginal, pull throughs, the road is paved but the pad is gravel. Space around the RV with shade trees and picnic table. Small pool. The Wi-Fi is great but we could not get any cell service at our site. Its only seven miles to Mena with food shops, restaurants and sightseeing. The bathrooms and laundry are old but clean. There is a little road noise, but it did not bother us. This is fine for a one night stop over and we would stay here again if passing through the area. However, we did feel that it was overpriced for what it was. We camped at Shadow Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

For a one night stop over it is okay. Sort of old and run down, with nice folks running the place. Good TV and Internet service, good water and electric. Highway noise is mostly semi's jake brakes. Level sites but the ground around the site is very rocky and hilly and rather dirty. Price is too high for what they offer. We camped at Shadow Mountain RV Park & Campground in a Motorhome.

We really liked this park. It's a few miles out of Mena and just off Highway 71, but we noticed no road noise. We were able to choose our site, rather than have one arbitrarily assigned. The site was level, roomy and shady. Cable TV and Wi-Fi worked perfectly. The pool was nice and clean. The owner was very quick to respond when we thought we might have a low voltage issue affecting our air conditioners, it wasn't a voltage issue. Later her spouse came to our RV to see if we were still having problems. This is a very friendly place and we will stay here again when in the area.
