My experience was great. The park itself is easy to get around with a great walking path for exercise or to walk your fur babies. The lake that the park sits on is great for fishing. It is the number 2 lake in the state of Arkansas for crappie fishing. There are public restrooms which are always clean and then there are guest restroom and showers that are spacious and always clean also. The manager lady is probably one of the sweetest and nicest ladies you will ever meet, and will always work with the owners to get any issues resolved very quickly and efficiently. I would recommend this place to any and all. - Gwen Jones

We stayed at Harris Brake Lake for 10 weeks while my hubby was working in the area. When we pulled in we knew we had found the right place, as everyone was so friendly and willing to help us set up. The monthly rate was $350.00, including electricity, very reasonable! The laundry room was clean and $2.00 a load is reasonable. The dryers dried your clothes in one load! Harris Brake is dog friendly and our 2 labs had a blast. Just be aware that this is a fishing lake that has lots of hooks and tackle in it. We did not let our dogs swim in it after one got hooked. There is a swimming hole close by if you have swimming dogs. The management went above and beyond to accommodate us. The maintenance staff was on top of it and if I had any issues they were addressed immediately. Every Friday night they have a BBQ or potluck on the deck overlooking the lake for the guests. A nice complimentary extra and a chance to meet your neighbors. Tuesday night is Bingo night, another great activity. The grounds have a huge open area with large shade trees if you want to partake in outdoor games and activities. The fishing is awesome and those Southern folk sure know how to fry up catfish and hush puppies! (The best I've ever had!) We made many friends here and it was bittersweet to leave. The staff and guests are some of the best we have had the pleasure to meet in our working travels. The cardinals are beautiful, the fireflies magical, and the huge snapping turtles magnificent. If you are looking for down home Southern hospitality this is the place for you. If you enjoy fishing and like to catch a lot, then you must stay here. - Bitterroot Bud

Not for us! After misunderstanding the directions on their web site and wandering endlessly for over an hour on Route 300 on a very narrow mountain type road we finally found our way there. I am sure if you like to fish, this is probably and alright place to stay but that is about all that is around. It is a very big lake and was pretty. This place just seemed to be a little hard to find, not counting the misunderstanding to start it off. When we finally see a sign on the road to turn and go 1 mile to resort, there really isn't any other signs. You nearly drive by before you see the place. Then there isn't any sign telling you where to stop, so we proceed to the office, just to be told in a somewhat condescending manner we shouldn't have come down there! PUT UP A SIGN so people know! The site we were given was alright but the only way to access it was driving in the way they did not want you to drive in. By our guess at least 95% of the campground was permanent campers and some were not very neat. I was a bit hesitant to hook up the water due to the fact I had to reach into an enclosed area stuffed with insulation to reach the valve. I could not tell if there was any vermin in there or not. If this campground truly wants to accommodate vacationing campers, it needs some upkeep and a few less permanent campers. If you just want to go to fish, enjoy. - tooters74

Great park. sites were asphalt and very level. Showed up late and go to pick a spot. The camp host found us in the morning and registered us there at the site, they were great and nice. I will absolutely go back to this park if traveling through Arkansas. - Mhallman9903

Our first camping experience in Arkansas' first state park! Definitely, we are spoiled! We stayed here 3 nights in Loop A campground (full hook up), right next to the lake by making reservations 287 days in advance. Camper check-in must be accomplished at the Visitor's' Center prior to entering the campground. There is extremely limited parking for RV rigs at the Visitors' Center. We were forced to pull slightly off the narrow 2-lane road partially blocking traffic while I went inside to accomplish check-in (bad situation). Then we had to drive to the picnic area in order to turn around and then drive to our campground. Desperately in need of RV rig parking area. Spaciously spaced campsites in Loop A under tall pines trees with most sites pull-thrus. Campground restroom/shower very clean, excellent condition and heated. Fairly quiet campground except for aircraft approach/take-off from small airport across the lake. No road noise, but there were some RVs with exterior televisions that had them blasting up until the quiet hour. Park personnel were very friendly and helpful. Firewood ($5 bundle) available for purchase at the Visitors' Center. Lots to explore and see here. Fall foliage was just reaching peak at the end of October. Achieved 3 bars with AT&T cell phone service. - napunani
Aug 2018 - $28.00
Park rangers were extremely friendly & helpful. The park offers a 25% Senior discount, not offered online, but gave it to use when we arrived. Site was clean. Sites are nicely spread out in Loop A but not in the other campgrounds. Never saw the hosts, except when they were sitting outside their trailer. They kept to themselves, would have been nice if they had stopped by as other hosts have at other parks. Power went out and they said they knew nothing. The campers found out who the electric company was and called for information. This should have been their job to keep the park informed, instead of a camper telling them. Great hiking trails. Didn't use the pool for it was closed for the summer. - Texan58
Jul 2018 - $38.00
Wonderful setting, nicely laid out sites, clean, quiet, peaceful. No wifi but good cell service. Great well marked hikes, but no swimming! Shame with a nice lake but, oh well. Sites are far from level but very acceptable. - Lookinforeden

OK. Nice office person. Just a place to pull off for the day. Right along 40 so it is convenient. Noise level high. - RBJ
Jun 2018 - $35.00
This is an old, old KOA that has basically gone by the wayside. The road leading in and out of the campground is a bit vague, you feel like you are entering a service station and trespassing through their parking lot to get to it, watch all the pot holes, because they are cavernous. The park is right next to the interstate, so very noisy. It's a bit rundown, their some campers there that appear to be full time renters, the camp spots are gravel and a bit rocky, semi level. It was okay for one night, wouldn't recommend it for an extended stay. - ksboynky
Jun 2017 - $33.00
The other comments are true! Don't stay here unless you are dog-tired and have to stop. That's what we did and we didn't sleep much given the noise of the highway. It is more intense than other grounds near the highway as there aren't any trees or walls, etc. to mitigate the noise. The roads in are unkept with many potholes. The grounds are also dirty with litter, broken glass and the site wasn't level. The trash was overflowing and smelled with flies. The inhabitants (which there are many) are a little scary. Staying in a WalMart parking lot would have been better. - RoamerswithHerbie

My GPS took me to the wrong location, a dead end at a gravel pit. As I look at the map now, that gravel pit must be 3 miles from the park. I always use GPS coordinates instead of physical address, but that didn't help this time. In fact, the actual physical address for this park is in Bigelow, AR; not Conway, AR I called the park and the attendant couldn't give me any directions, saying, "I just arrived here myself." I called "Rec.gov" and they said the park is 4 miles west of Conway on Hwy 60. That was what I needed and I found the park shortly thereafter. The GPS coordinates, at the park entrance, are: N 35.07755 W 092.54589. The park is typical Corps of Engineers.....electricity and water at sites, no sewer. But, a dump station at park entrance. Nicely maintained grounds. Bathrooms were relatively well-kept. Beautiful location on the Arkansas River, right at the Toad Suck Dam. With my America the Beautiful pass, overnight fee was $10. I would definitely return, especially now that I know how to find it! - Piperjim
Jun 2018 - $20.00
Great location on the west side of Conway about 5 miles to center of town, University of Central Arkansas, Hendrix College and Central Baptist College. It only has electric and water at sites, but a convenient dump is located at front of park near ranger's office. Beautiful views of the Arkansas River at the Toad Suck Lock & Dam. Concrete picnic table with cover (or tree cover), burn pit/grill, water and 20/30/50A electric at each site. Loop A is only loop that takes reservations. It is all quite shaded and probably will not support satellite TV. AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile service is good at this site. A hidden gem for $20 a night. - Unw1red
Jun 2018 - $20.00
Beautiful spacious park about 8 miles from Route 40 near Conway, AK. Cross over the bridge, turn right into the One Stop and shimmy over to the park entrance. Signage is poor but you can figure it out. Shady, spacious, pretty much level (minimal sloping on the sites). Water and electric worked great. Nice picnic shelters, fishing off the bank, well kept playground. We stayed in A loop, which seemed to have the most shade (site A05). Took our chairs over to the bank under the shade trees and watched the water flow by. - GordonsvilleGal

I am from Central Arkansas, I had been told that Lake Nimrod had been closed in 2017 due to drought, which would explain the low water level. The swimming area wasn't too good, probably because the water was low, when you get to the end it had squishy mud and possibly methane. Park was quite and peaceful , There were 7 campsites total occupied. Shower was good but hot water was on and there is no turning it off, it's July in Arkansas , People!! No cell service for ATT or Verizon. It's only an hour drive for me I might go back in the Fall. Placement of boulders and trees at my site made parking difficult. But it was fairly empty, I probably could've asked for a different site. - Wilnel71
Jul 2018 - $9.00
This is a nice little park on Lake Nimrod. They have two small camping loops. Big rigs need to pick their sites carefully as the roads are a little narrow so it can be hard to back into some sites with trees on both sides of drive. There is no Verizon cell service and getting a satellite signal can be tough. There is a small swimming area. Some sites require a bit of leveling as it can slope some. - TEXASBOY

Sep 2017 - $30.00
Really nice people live/work here. More of a community than an RV park, this is a small, very well managed campground with seasonal and permanent residents. They don't advertise, nor need to: they are usually full. (One Yelp page reported they were CLOSED - and they are not.) The park is near I-40 and they will extend themselves to fit you and your rig in when bad weather or poor health dictates you find a place to dock soon. Twice we have halted there; both times the manager met us at the entrance, walked us to the one pull thru site she had opened up and helped us get in and setup. Sites are close together but are level, have good water pressure and reliable 30/50 amp power. Permanent sites are tidy, well maintained and Quiet Hours are observed. The only drawback is that the entrance is at a sharp left angle and down into the campground (which is probably why we were met at the entrance and walked down into our site.) If you are seeking a swimming pool, entertainment, and a campfire every night....best go elsewhere. These are wonderful people who do not want to be a KOA, just a community of really nice people. - Mom_of_Two

Jul 2018 - $26.00
Nice COE Park just outside Little Rock. The B Loop has nice spots by the river and are very nice to have a relaxing evening outside by its banks, however the spots on the south end of the B Loop have lots of vegetation and your view of the river is blocked. If you want to be back in the trees I recommend staying in the western end of the C Loop. The sites in the A and F Loop are a lot closer together and the A Loop has several "long term" sites for campers visiting the hospitals in Little Rock. There could be a few more dumpsters in the park and the playground is older and a bit lacking. Many OTA stations as Little Rock is close by and cell service (AT&T) was fine. - Ian B
Jul 2018 - $11.00
The rate reflects a 50% senior pass discount. This campground worked very well for us while visiting Little Rock. It gave us a quiet place with shade for returning to every evening. The sites are well spaced so that you have some breathing room. We did not use the facilities but the park itself was clean and well-kept. It is heavily treed, but using our portable dish and 100 feet of cable, we were able to find a hole for satellite. Verizon was adequate for data and voice. We would return if in the area again. - TheJim
Jul 2018 - $24.00
A beautiful Army Corp of Engineers campground on the Arkansas River. Our site backed up to the river. The site was paved and just wide enough for our travel trailer and fairly level. Plenty of trees. We had a covered picnic area with gravel. Close to everything you may need. The bath house was the better part of really hot. It is Spartan with no ventilation, clean but in June I wouldn't even think about trying to use it. It would be great in the Spring or Fall. - skiles

Dec 2018 - $41.00
Stayed coming and going to the East Coast from Oklahoma. Very cold weather but they were prepared with winter proofed water connections. Easy off/on from I-40. Fuel and food close by. Level gravel pull threw site so I didn't have to unhook 40' fifth wheel. Friendly professional owner lives on site and quickly handled my needs. I highly recommend this RV park. - Lynn Wagoner
Nov 2018 - $36.00
The park was quiet, the common areas were clean, the WiFi was fast and stable. While close to I-40, this park is not overwhelmed with interstate traffic noise. If I could have rated it an 11 I would have done so. I would not hesitate to stay here again, or refer friends to stay here. - Bubba Warbucks
Oct 2018 - $40.00
Nice overnight stop for us at this small no-frills campground. WSE gravel pull through was long enough to stay hooked up and wide enough for some privacy. Heavy rains left lots of standing water. All services including cable tv worked well. Interior roads are a little on the narrow side although there were lots of big rigs there so navigating them doesn't seem to be a problem. No WiFi that we found. Verizon worked well. The place was full the day we called for a reservation and the night we were there so calling ahead is advised. We would stay here again if in the area. - Janau NC
