Small park but very nice. Good spacing between sites. Facility is clean and well-cared for. Not much in the way of T-Mobile signal or OTA TV. Would use again for a short-term stay. Dump station was really dirty with no water hose for cleaning. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Travel Trailer.

This is a smaller park not too far from Russellville. The sights are roomy and not too close together. Lots of shade. There is recent damage from the historic flood of June 2019 which closed part of the sites. However the rest of is usable and was not adversely affected. The sights are level and easy to access for larger rigs. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

It’s a few miles off the interstate but still convenient to I-40. Right on the river, shade trees, spacious lots, friendly staff. couldn’t get any local tv stations but had Verizon signal for WiFi. Great value and would stay here again We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

If the pads had been a bit wider I would have given it a 10. This is not a large park, about 41 sites I think. It is a very nice COE though. It was so quiet, roar of the lock and dam is quite soothing. The public park nearby is not noisy enough to affect the campground. It is shady. Kids have lots of bike riding space. Trees overhead could be a problem for some larger units but we did fine with a 34 footer. Visitor center was never open while we were there. Nothing much to do but relax, walk, ride bikes. The fishing around a lock and dam has not much interest for me. Plus everything is very muddy right now. The park is 3.7 miles from a Freds if you need anything. I really liked this park. The roads are not marked as one way so you may go down your road at the wrong angle for backing in. I was warned by a park worker to walk in the campground when alone, he said there were undesirables and they try to manage that, next week there will be a ranger... kinda spooked me a bit. Got that message the day we were leaving. Had walked dog alone to the dumpsters often... nothing even remotely scared me being there. The park was almost full, so lots of folks around. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Fifth Wheel.

COE parks are a hidden treasure. And this parks is no excepting. We loved it and wanted to stay longer. In your mind and thinking about a non-commercial park, this is it. It has paved sites, 50 amp service, water and room to park you tow vehicle. Plenty of space between sites. All site are pretty much level. Good mountain biking trails, good lake visitor center, good walking trail along soccer complex (>mile), some river boat traffic and good Verizon cell service. The only thing for negitive comment was the OTA TV reception, we only got 3 channels and it was in&out. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Fifth Wheel.

Another gorgeous COE RV Park. Roads are paved and easy to navigate with a big rig. Huge grassy sites with paved pads and parking space for towed vehicle. Crushed stone patio with picnic table, fire ring, and lantern stand. No problems getting level. Electric and water hookups. No individual sewer connections but dump station is available. Boat launch in the park. Clean rest rooms and showers. Park is well maintained. Quiet, friendly campers. There is an adjacent day use area with picnic tables, playgrounds, tennis, volleyball, walking paths, mountain bike and hiking trails, disk golf, picnic pavilions, soccer field. Park is on the Arkansas river at the dam and lock. Awesome. I have to say we did notice the factory "hum" a prior reviewer mentioned, but it wasn't enough to bother us. Also another reviewer mentioned ants. We had to watch out for ant hills while walking the dogs, but that seems to be the norm in this part of the country. No problems with ants at our site. Really enjoyed our stay here. We'll be back. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

I took the comments about ants seriously and carefully looked around the rig after we parked. I saw a stream of black sugar ants but didn't see any that were approaching the rig, so I didn't spray around the tires. Wrong. Next stop - I found ants in the wet bay which I think I evicted. Would recommend an aggressive approach to protecting your rig if you stay here. Also - watch for fire ants when walking the dog. A double ant alert. The park itself is nice with mature large trees providing much welcome shade. The water in the river was down quite a bit so the scenic view was not quite as nice. However, there is a factory in the distance and there is a CONSTANT hum in the air. We were still using AC's so that masked the noise. It's not the park's fault, just saying it really detracts from the camping experience. The park gets good traffic and many sites were occupied, but I think I will pass on a return trip, especially if it was in the shoulder season where we like to sleep with open windows - the factory noise is annoying. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.

Easy back in site. Sites spaced well apart.Grass needed mowing and park could use dead branches (large to small) disposed of for a tidier appearance. Men's restroom lacked soap and was not as clean as would have liked. There is a loud hum from a plant at the boat launch end of the park. We needed to turn our fan on and keep windows closed all night to sleep well. We would try another park next visit to The area. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful, clean, and quiet park with a lovely view of the river. We found this park to be extremely well maintained. Our site was number 20 - at the end - and our view of the river was gorgeous out our back window. We had a huge area to walk the dog. We also had 11 OTA TV channels. Great Verizon. Tips for other Campers:

We needed to call Happy Days RV Sales & Service. They came right to our camper the next morning, did two quick repairs, and only charged us $40. The technician was extremely knowledgeable and fast.

We did day trips to Petit Jean State Park, Nebo state park, Mount Magazine State Park and Dardanelle state park. Spectacular scenery.

The only thing keeping it from a 10 is the abscence of sewer but most COEs don't have them. The sites are level, easy to back into and the hosts were great. We pulled in without a reservation and they found a spot. They even went through their open spots to get the best fit for our rig. This place is drop dead gorgeous We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Fifth Wheel.

We have camped here a few times. Very quiet relaxing park on the bank of the Arkansas River. The sites are spacious and clean. The view of the river is somewhat obstructed by vegetation. The bank is rather steep and overgrown, so you can't walk down to the river from your site. There is a boat ramp at the end of the park. On the other end of the campground is the dam and public park (the road is blocked to prevent people from the park driving through the campground). There are barges that go by from time to time. We saw an eagle fly by. Peaceful, relaxing place. We camped at Old Post Road COE in a Motorhome.
