Very nice state park on the junction of the white & black rivers. Nice level sites which are pretty open. Would not make a destination park for us but a pretty nice for a night over. Not very far off the main highway, but the disadvantage if you have to trek through the town of Newport to get to the park, which could be awkward for larger rigs. Shower house is on stilts, which says something for the flooding in the area, an really nice, well kept and clean. Jacksonport SP has a very nice new museum with very well done displays and historical info of the area. - garmp

This park is a well-kept secret gem on the banks of the White River. We stayed on a Saturday evening and there were only two other campers in the park. There are about 10 sites facing the river and all have very good views. There is a swimming beach, boat ramp and picnic pavilion as well. Verizon service was great, and there were 3 OTA television channels. - DD Jones

This state park is awesome. When we arrived, there were two other campers in the park. The office advised us to drive around and find a spot that we liked and come back to register. We found a nice spot in Loop C right on Lake Charles. The park offers trails, kayak rentals and organized tours. There is also a boat ramp. The campsites are wooded, mostly shady, and quiet. - KevinGY

Great little Arkansas State park. A bit of a pain to get to; narrow, twisty roads and a good distance from US 67, but a real find once you get there. Inside, the access roads are also narrow and with significant ups and downs but we navigated with no problems pulling our 35' 5th wheel. We camped in loop C (full hook ups) in site 77 and backed in with no problems. Right across the road, site 76 would be another thing. It's on the inside of a tight turn and would be difficult to get a large camper in place. Ours was lovely with a great view of the lake thru some trees. The site was fairly level with only minimal adjustments needed. - Motorcyclekelly

This was our second Arkansas state park and so far, really like how AR does their parks. We stayed in a Class AAA (FHUs) site, 79, right on the water in the C loop for 7 days. Sites 79 and 80 are across a lake cove from a water facility that has a pump that runs off and on all day and well into the evening. Pump is loud but bearable. Suggest sites 78 and below that are lake side as well. Site 77 has brick overhang so if you have one of the newer 5th wheels with the back storage area, this site would not be your best choice. Good fishing lake and we were able to place our kayak down by the water from our site. If you do not need FHUs. Loop B had some excellent sites that are water and electric. Loop A is water and electric but those sites looked smaller. Each loop had a bath house, which were clean and well maintained. There was a Walmart in Walnut Ridge about 20 miles away, but it was small with limited groceries; no produce or meat. There was a Super Walmart in Pocahontas about 30 miles away. - MK_Willi

The park looks new with level concrete pads and blacktop drive. Wifi was good, they offered cable. The proprietors were very friendly. We'd stay there again. - Billy Strayhorn

Very friendly owners. Very clean park. Nice place for a one night stop or if in Batesville for medical treatment or activities related to Lyon College. Very quite and secure. 40Mbps free wifi and over 100 channels on cable tv. Sites are satellite friendly. Standard pull through was all we needed for a 40' MH towing a Honda. (about 58 feet). I agree with the comments in the prior review. - johnwadams

We stayed for 2 months visiting family. This is a new park and it is still growing. Sites were concrete and ashpalt and level. The patio area was more a door area but since we had the end spot, we put our chairs on the grassy area and it was fine. Sites were plenty long enough for our 40 foot home, tow and even our visitor vehicle. Owners are very friendly as is all their staff. Store has good breakfast and homemade sandwiches. A growing store of RV supplies too. We'll stay again. - Lillian OConnell
