We enjoyed camping here. The trash was not picked up on Saturday and not until 11 on Sunday. This made it impossible to put trash out. We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in site 83 that backs up to water. This is a large patio site with the patio being down steps to picnic table, fire ring and area for tent or gazebo. Site has clean Electric service, good water pressure, and sewer drain mounted in cement (makes it easier to stay clean). Site is level-paved and spacious. Also very shaded. No cell service but camp wifi is better than most campsites we've stayed in. Great area for bike riding and hiking trails are all marked and fun to explore. We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Motorhome.

I absolutely love this place. It's like something out of a Go RVing commercial. At least the natural beauty. I've camped here several times. It's almost 250 miles each way from my house and it's one of my most favorite places. The sites are large, shaded, and quiet. This time, we camped in site E54 right next to the creek. The bathrooms were not in great shape. We elected to just use our RV shower and bathroom for our stay. Not a problem since we had a full hookup site. There's lots to do in the area. Hiking and mountain biking trails. The pool is nice. I saw people catching some fish in the creek. I think one of the best things is the lack of cell and wi-fi! You don't get a thing down here and it's awesome! If you need to communicate with the outside world, make the hike up to Yellow Rock. It's beautiful and you'll get cell service up there too. Bring everything you need. It's a long haul to get to a store. The visitor's center sells some very basic items. Also, if you have a big RV, approach from the west on highway 170. The other way is very twisty and windy. We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful park in a great setting. Nice sites and areas for activities. Great shaded sites, large yards, easy roads. No cell service and inconsistent WiFi are the biggest cons. Strange thing about certain Arkansas parks... No swimming! Big bummer but still enjoyed it. We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The facility was very clean and very ample for the vehicle and tow vehicle. There was a large concrete pad, water, sewer, and electric. The park however was in a black hole and about 15 miles from the interstate on a double lane road that was quite tight. No wifi and cell provided for some issues but the stay was cozy. We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We stayed 3 nights and I was looking forward to Devil's Den based on a neighbor's previous stay. The visitors center parking lot is small so I would suggest dropping off a large camper before checking in. When we arrived at our site, it was fairly short and I could not park my truck with the camper. We enjoyed and hiked on a few of the trails but I was a bit set back by some general lack of up keep of the place. The laundry room A/C was broken, no sidewalk at the entire complex looked like it had ever been cleaned, screws were sticking up on walking bridges, the water upstream of the dam was shallow and stagnant, siding was rotting off some of the buildings, etc... The state is adding some new cabins and remodeling the store/cafe (closed since a 2015 fire) but the rest of the facility could really use some attention to make this a place I would visit again. We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Bring lots of ice - the closest place to purchase ice is 6 miles from the park. Bring movies or music - no TV stations in the area an only a few radio stations are available.

The site was level side to side. It was a bit tight backing in with a tree on one side and the identification post on the other. If you go here, contact them ahead of time and park first if possible. The area around the visitors center is extremely tight. I could not have gotten my truck and trailer in and out of the parking lot. We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The trails were well marked but we found no information packets on what we would see while walking. The Yellow Rock Trail was very nice as was the Fossil Flats trail. The Devils Den Trail had some sketchy spots that concerned me about those who have balance problems.

What a beautiful park! The site was spacious the only difficult thing was when we made reservations they didnt tell we needed to go to our site first then check in. When we got there the signs told us to check in before going to your site. We did what it said we run into a problem had to back down a mountain because there was no where to turn around. The best way to come into the park is highway 170 do not take highway 74 especially if you have a big rig! We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Very scenic place with some nice hiking trails. Swimming, canoeing also. Our shower house wasn't the cleanest, but the water controls worked fine. The B loops are very small, but adequate...just be patient backing in. We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Loved this park. An older park, but sites were well kept and clean. We camped right by Lee Creek, section E, and we had lots of shade. A bit of a challenge getting our 40+ foot fifth wheel backed into the site between big cedars in order to leave room for slide-outs. Nonetheless...Loved this camp and park. Walked the Yellow Rock trail one morning early. Beautiful 2-1/2 hr hike.

To park I had to park just off road sideways. However, there are longer sites on the inside of the loop that would have been fine.

Big cedars beside pad. I had to squeeze in, lay out a marker, to get room on both sides for my slides. I had 4 inches on one side, 3 inches on the other once my slides were out. We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The online reservation system was horrible and led to a poor experience for us. I reserved for a 25-30' site for our 28ft trailer, and was assigned #33. A friend had camped here before and reported it was a decent site. We finally made it through the switchbacks and arrived at the visitor's center at 4:50, paid and proceeded to our assigned site. It was a pop up camper site, with no room to park our truck, a huge boulder directly in front of the door, and a couple of yards away from electric hookups. The park visitor center was closed by the time we reversed tracks, so we left. Lesson learned - when booking Arkansas state parks, always call instead of using the website. We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful Area!!!! Only big complaint I have is their signs are few and far between and they are not good signs for directions and such! And its a big deal if you are in a motorhome and travel trailers! Really needs emprovement on that part! Otherwise beautiful place! Staff at visitor center not overly helpful or friendly. Nice level site. Paved pad, patio and path to area for a tent. Nicest pad I've ever seen.
Full hook-ups - all worked great. No cell phone service at all. Park does have good wifi signal.
We had just stayed 2 night while passing thru area.
Park is beautiful for hiking and mountain biking. Nice nature trails.

This sate park is very nice. All interior roads are paved. Very large sites, with picnic table, grill and fire pits. Large sites for trailers and then they also have a little parking space for your vehicle. Restrooms are clean. We camped during the week, so the park was not busy. They have nice trails and a pool is available. You have to pay extra each day to use the pool. I did not like this, I feel if you camp there, it should be included or pay up front so you don't have to take money each day. There is a store at the park, but it has next to nothing. There is nothing at all in Winslow, so make sure you have all you need prior to getting to the park, and fill up with gas. Take 170 into the park, because it will be less winding. Overall value and clean, we camped in a travel trailer and would stay again if in the area. We camped at Devil's Den State Park in a Travel Trailer.
