I can't add much to the other reviews, except to say the prices have gone up. The unserviced spots are $32 per night and the ones with power are $39. It's still a very nice park with good sized spots and not too far from Nelson which is becoming a busy little town! We camped at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed in the Friends Camprground which is right next to the lake and the sandy beaches. The sites are open and don't provide much privacy but have electric hookup. Sandspit Campground is more shaded and private but have no hookups. The lake is one of the most beautiful lakes that one will ever camp near. Great for kayaking and swimming and does have a boat launch. There is also a spawning channel for the Kokanee salmon that is within the campground. We were there during spawning season which is a neat thing to see. There are lots of trails within the campground but many were closed due to bears in the area because of the spawning. They also have a dog beach very close to the campground. We will return. We camped at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at the Friends Campground, within this park, and it was wonderful. The site was large and level, and it was quiet. There was a grey water dump (not for RV dumping) next to the drinking water tap that largely solved the no sewer problem. We camped at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

We were at the Sandspit campground. The sites are large, incredibly level, and well protected from the winds. The walking within the campground is great and the connected trails are great. The dump is $5.00 even if you camp there. We will be back; hopefully during harvest! We camped at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is one of the better Provincial Parks in the Province, with so many choices for sites. You can get almost beach front, private wooded areas, close to playgrounds, or somewhere in between. Electricity is available in some areas too. Great beach areas and views too. We camped at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is a great provincial park with large sites, many with lots of shade. A few sites have 50 amp power hookups, but no other services are available. the park is on the west arm of Kootenay Lake and has good beaches. Portions of the park has been upgraded with new washrooms and showers. The park is well maintained and is expectioanl clean. There is lots to do in the area including Aisworth Hot Springs. During the summer season you will need to book well in advance of your stay. We visited in September and had our pick of sites. We camped at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Kokanee Provincial Park is about 18K east of Nelson and within 15-20 mins of the Balfour Ferry. We were lucky to get one of the few non-reservable spots arriving early on a Tuesday & were even near the sandy beach area. This is a spectacular mountain lake with long stretches of sandy beach. This is a heavily used park, most of which is reserved well in advance. One loop is FCFS and that's where we stayed for 4 nights. There is also overflow parking and it was busy every night we were there. The is s sani-dump for an extra charge. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Absolutely phenomenal. We stayed with our two children in our 27 foot motor home in a huge site with plenty of room to spare. Fire pits were in great condition, picnic tables were in great condition, showers were hot and clean, bathrooms were clean with electrical outlets as well. Lake was terrific, beach was sandy and excellent for the kids to play on, two adventure playgrounds kept kids well-occupied (both younger and older kids had lots to choose from). Wonderful spot to stay for a week! We camped at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Nice Provincial Park on Kootenay Lake. Kokanee Creek runs through park where you can see the Kokanee Salmon spawning. As typical of BC's Provincial Parks, large secluded sites with no hookups. Walking distance to huge beach and park, but dogs not allowed. Lots of shade. We camped at Kokanee Creek Provincial Park in a Motorhome.
