Stayed for one night on our way to Alaska. Sites were somewhat tight but we had a spot with a view of Dawson Creek so was not too bad. Good location out of town away from traffic noise. When we checked in we were told to stay away from one trailer who happened to have the only large grass spot with our dog as he doesn't like dogs and will yell at you. Seems odd that the park would keep a negative person on the premises who is affecting patrons. The shower building was excellent. Self contained sink, toilet, shower rooms that looked freshly renovated or staff are great at cleaning. Our site was behind the main building across from the communal fire pit. Power, water, cable, sewer at sites. Would stay again We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in the park for a few nights. Good location to meet up with family before we all started our trek up the Alaskan highway.
Site is wide open & all gravel. Services easy to access & in good working condition. Our site was level.
Very nice washrooms and laundry. Close to town, plenty of grocery stores etc. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Typical Alaska Highway RV park. We were in site 46, which is an all gravel FHU pull-through. Registration was easy, and staff was friendly and helpful. We were actually escorted to the site. And after I forgot my pressure regulator, they emailed to let me know that another traveler headed to Alaska had it and they gave me his contact information. Interior roads were easy to navigate with our 38' DP with toad. Site was just long enough so we did not have to detach toad. Spacing was average. Utilities were fine, water pressure was decent. WiFi was average, plus a few TV channels through cable. No enclosed dog park but not a far walk to the grass. Only stayed one night at the end of June on the way to Alaska. Very popular with caravans so best to reserve in advance in the summer. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Flying J cardlock about a mile away is not staffed, and can be confusing. Don't remove the fuel nozzle before you begin the payment process on the common terminal.

Stayed one night on our way to Alaska, 30 amp FHU OK park, sites are close to others, some trees, good clean bathrooms, good laundry, $45 Canadian. Noisy and close to busy roads. Good access off highway, tight but doable in park. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

About a mile and a half off Highway 97. It's a gravel parking. Sites are fairly well spaced and long enough to have toad stay hooked up. In the back, the first couple rows have a little grass, back couple rows have nothing. Only thing distinguishing sites are the picnic table and power pedestal. Those arriving early have first crack at 50 amp, otherwise 30 amp. The front of the park looks like extended stay, and the back area has most of the over nighters. The registration area is fairly large and staff is efficient and friendly. 20 cable channels. No trees, so no problem getting satellite reception. Utilities worked fine. WiFi was good when the park was empty, lousy as the park filled up. Sites are level. Beautiful, modern restrooms. 4 private restrooms with sink, toilet and big shower. Make sure to take your shoes off in entry mud room before entering restrooms. Shower will cost you $1 for 3 minutes. Nice meeting room. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Motorhome.

After driving from Jasper up thru the Bighorn highway, we found this RV park and its location to be good for our start to the Alcan. It is on a hill so it could get windy. Clean with good cell phone and good cable. Easy in and out, brand new laundry and showers. as with most, wifi was really bad and limited to .5 gig per day per device. Any issues with your rig, the owners were very helpful with advice on quick/good RV services. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The visitor center is fab. The loops to see the wood carvings was only good if you really want to see wood carvings. The Tumbler Ridge hikes were great but the drive to the water falls is truly over 2 hours on a mostly gravel road. Worth it but know what your day will be. Go see the curved bridge outside of town - get all your info on how to do the Alaska trip from visitor info.

Average campground. Near the highway. Felt like we paid a good amount and yet there were pay showers and a rate of $1 for only 3 minutes. Showers were new and very nice. WiFi worked well. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Tent Trailer.

Cleanest restrooms/showers I've encountered. I believe they clean after each use. Shoes are not allowed in the shower/restroom building. They were a bit heavy-handed on that rule, but it makes for a very clean floor. The park was very nice and the office staff were friendly and helpful. Large gravel park on top of hill overlooking town next to highway with good water and 50 amp. Not much ambiance - no trees or foliage between sites. We stayed 4 nights to explore the area and were comfortable here in our 40 foot coach. Some noise from trucks on the highway. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to see in the area. Local museum had interesting film on the Alaska Highway. Visited Tumbler Ridge - could have spent several days here! Visited Chetwynd to see the chainsaw carvings around town. Would have spent time in Hudson Hope and at dam if we had had more time.

We unfortunately had the displeasure of being next to two individuals who were very loud, yelling, playing music, and well past 11pm. The campground owners took care of the problem to more than our satisfaction. We will happily stay here again. Wifi speed was good and capped at 500mb/day. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Check-in was friendly and we were given Wi-Fi access pass code and directed to our site. The sites are rock and gravel, not level, and the power stanchion in our site was 30AMP with no breaker box. Most sites are drive through with picnic tables. After leveling and settling we tried the Wi-Fi access code and couldn't connect. CTV is grainy at best, almost not watchable. When we talked to the office staff person we were informed they didn't know Wi-Fi isn't available in our section, until we reported it. The section is full. CG choices are limited here, at the beginning of the Alaska Highway. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Mile Post 0, The Alaska Highway monument, lots of local history and interesting museums. Fuel is available at a reasonable price and shopping is convenient, just everything you might need in town. Just out of Grand Cache there is bridge construction and lane restriction. The closer to Dawson Creek, the better it gets and there are a lot of big rigs moving both directions because of petroleum and log transports.

Tips for other Campers:

Dawson Creek - Milepost 0 - start of the Alaska Highway. We watched the 1 hr movie in the Train station museum (focused more on the building of the road) and the 1 hr movie in the Alaska House (focused more on the peopled). Both added tremendously to our knowledge before starting the route. Also, we drove north 15 miles to see the Kiskatinaw Bridge without our RV - well marked sign to turn off the highway. Easy to park and walk on the bridge.

Staying here since 4 years usually 2 times a year. Fast internet and all services working well. The hosts are super friendly. If traveling thru Dawson, make sure to stop a night or two here. Big pull thru sites, very easy accessible even for big rigs. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Motorhome.

Stayed only one night on the way to Alaska. Typical Alcan RV park - big gravel parking lot. Spacing wasn't too bad. Staff was friendly. Was fine for a one night stopover. A few miles from the Mile Zero monument but an easy drive there. We camped at Northern Lights RV Park in a Motorhome.
