Overall Rating:

Rate shown is for Seniors Off Season. Good signage on highway to park. Self registration when park operator not around, but someone will attend later in the evening. Park road fairly narrow asphalt surface, but one way direction. Some trees close to road, but they are trimmed. All the sites are back-in, except for one pull-thru (#27). Most sites are for small RV units less than 25 ft long. Sites 12, 16, 17, and 19 can handle rigs up to 40 ft (you would still have to unhook your toad at the entrance). Our site (#14) was just big enough for our 28 ft motorhome. Scattered pines throughout the campground between the sites gave some privacy. No power, water, or sewer hookups. Vault toilets and a hand water pump. Sites on two levels, upper close to highway with the inevitable traffic noise and lower above the river (that noise I can handle). Access to the river via fairly steep and short pathways. Well maintained campground. No local TV or radio, only satellite radio. Too many trees on most sites for satellite TV. Good place just to relax and take in the scenery. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Stemwinder Provincial Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Across the highway is a forest service road one can hike up to get a better view of the surrounding area. Spring flowers were just coming out and spotted a few marmots on the rocky ridges.

Overall Rating:

Great place to stay for a one or two night stop over. There is a water pump in the park, but it could have a boil water advisory. Wonderful views of Stemwinder Mountain and the Similkameen River. A little close to the highway, but not too much noise from it. We camped at Stemwinder Provincial Park in a Travel Trailer.
