Overall Rating:

On arrival, I wanted to fill up our freshwater tank, but noticed signs everywhere advising the water was not potable. Found out we had to make a trip back into town in order to get some proper drinking water. The campground has two loops - upper and lower. We had a site in the lower loop near the playground. The Lions Club operates the campground for the town. There was a sign that said the host was in stall 27, but was out at the time. So we went ahead and found our site, which was given when I made a reservation earlier (host came around later for registration and payment). It was a level back-in with a good gravel crush and nicely landscaped with a few trees for shade. A picnic table and fire ring on site as well. Site size varies. Some were big enough for tow vehicle and trailer and others for a tent. The lower loop sites seemed to be in better shape than the upper loop sites. The comfort station was located in the lower section and had men, women, and unisex sections. The Men's had one shower which took loonies. Playground, picnic shelter with BBQ, volley ball and sports field are also located in the lower section. A trail goes through the campground which leads east to various spots on Flatbed Creek or north towards the golf course. Now that I know about the water situation, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. We camped at Lions Flatbed Creek Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you have a 4X4 vehicle, there are many waterfalls in the Tumbler Ridge area to visit including Kinuseo Falls. Take the guided dinosaur footprints tour down to the Cabin Pool.
