Overall Rating:

Nice enough place. Just off Highway 5, about 15 miles south of Highway 16 to Mt. Robson and Jasper. A little highway noise. Open and sunny, small trees that don't really offer shade. Huge registration area, friendly staff. Roads are dirt/hard pack gravel as are the somewhat level and long sites. Mostly dead grass patio area with picnic table. Utilities worked fine. Good voltage and water pressure. Satellite reception. No cable. WiFi worked good early but slowed down as the park filled up. A few OTA channels. Great dog walk area. Group covered picnic pavilion. Restrooms are clean and well kept, have four stalls and three showers, with the showers on a 3 minute timer and auto heat that you can't regulate. Convenience/gift items in the office area. Walk thru paths to restrooms/laundry so you don't need to cut thru a site or go all the way around. Very scenic, surrounded by mountains. We camped at iRVin's RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Appears to be a new park. Very well maintained with full hookups(50 amp, water, sewer). All pull-thru. Easy in/easy out. Laundry has 2 regular machines and 2 big machines plus 4 dryers. Some noise from highway but seems to be calming down as the evening progresses. Nice, level site. We camped at iRVin's RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great bakery in town. While it seems to be just a stop off on the way to somewhere else, it is actually a pleasant place to relax and spend a few days enjoying the beautiful mountain views by sitting, biking or walking.

Overall Rating:

This is a park located within minutes of Highway 5 in the small town of Valemount. The sites are extra-long pull throughs in most cases on a flat gravel and dirt surface with grass inserts between sites. There is little privacy but few trees allowed views of mountains. Services were well located and worked well. We had three good OTA television stations as well as Verizon on data and cell roaming. Park Wi-Fi worked very well. Despite constant drizzle the park remained well-drained. The designated dog area is a very large walking trail at the far end of the park. The town is small but does have multiple options for fuel, restaurants, groceries and liquor stores. The large Provincial Park is about 30 minutes North. Laundry room was clean and neat and had 4 washers and dryers. The cost was Canadian $4 for small washer and $6 for large washer per load. Large coaches were able to park easily without disconnecting from road. We would stay here again. We camped at iRVin's RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A first class campground. Sites were wide open, utilities worked well. Well maintained grounds. Owners obviously have worked hard to give travelers an easy in/out. Facilities were very clean. Would highly recommend. We camped at iRVin's RV Park and Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We checked in for 1 night to start with and paid $35 CAD. The lady on check in was helpful and friendly. Park is pretty much a car park with some grass between sites, but was fine for us. Site wasn't level but we used a plank which was fine - we're used to it. Wifi was terrible, took 5 mins to send a 2 line, plain text email! Websites wouldn't load. We decided to stay a second night to explore the area, so went to re register at 10.50am, (check out was 11am). Different lady on check in and she was incredibly rude! Complained we were late re registering, even though it was before 11am. She said they might have booked our site, she hadn't. When we phoned to book originally we were told there was no need to book anyway as they weren't busy. She then proceeded to charge us $37.50, not the $35 we paid the previous day. When I queried this later, as we were on our way out, she said we were charged extra as we had 3 adults - nope we are 2 adults and 1 child. She said our 13 year old counts as an adult! I asked why should we pay extra, when we were expecting to pay the same as the previous day. The lady who checked us in the previous day was there and admitted she charged us $35, which was what we were told when we phoned too! The rude woman wouldn't budge even though it was their mistake. In 4 years on the road we have never experienced such incredible rudeness from a campground owner, (we figure she was the owner). I would never stay here again - customer service is clearly an alien concept! We camped at iRVin's RV Park and Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We started out with a reservation at another park across the highway. On arrival we discovered the sites were power/water only and not suited for a 40' motorhome. So we called Irvin's and booked in here for two nights. What a pleasant surprise. Check in was efficient and friendly, pull thru sites were easy to access and level. Power and utilities were well placed with excellent 50A power. Wifi was adequate but slow in peak periods. Overall this is an excellent park at a very fair rate. Tips for other Campers:

Valemount is an interesting little town. If you you have time visit the Main Street and check out the beer and food at the 3 Ranges Craft Brewery.

Forest fires routed us up Highway 5 and we landed in Valemount about the time to call it a night. Irvin's is a nice big clean park, tried to get into Jasper only to find all the Park sites full. Spent a second day at Irvin's before heading into Jasper. BTW, in the future, we will take HWY 5 out of Prince George instead of HWY97, although longer, a much better road that follows the picturesque Thompson River. We camped at iRVin's RV Park and Campground in a Motorhome.
