Nov 2019 - $27.00
Park as nice as can be expected for price and location. Site was level with good gravel. Very quiet at night with zero freeway noise. Manager was very nice and quite helpful. Good for over night. I will stay here again when I want to break up trip or if I am waiting for weather to clear over Tehachapi or get a late start from night before. - John Zumwalt
Aug 2019 - $20.00
Great overnight stop on our way to Kennedy Meadows area. Not a destination. There were several mobile homes and some RVs that were apparently stored there - didn't see anyone around them and didn't see any lights at night. - JohninSanDiego
Aug 2019 - $20.00
A no frills park, perfect for what we needed in an overnight stay. Easy access to Hwy 58, plenty of room with drive thru sites. Gravel parking with a concrete pad for your chairs. No issues with any of the utilities. Strong cell signal. - Frogcomms

What we liked most about Silver Saddle Ranch was the peace and quiet. It is a large resort acreage so there was plenty of room to get away from the central complex. The park is also located about 12 miles from town which really gives a sense of being away from it all. Nice ponds, landscaping and lots of trees added to the country feel. On the down side...the central complex closes mid week so be prepared for that. And, on weekends they have a LOT of families come up to visit so it gets busy. Not much in the way of on-site RV services so come prepared. Otherwise, a very nice spot to spend a week. - MtnMutt
Feb 2014 - $25.00
Very quiet during February but beautiful. Resort has small lake surrounded by park setting. The pool was not open (too cold) but the hot tub was (loved it!). Restaurant open just on weekends but that was fine with us. Come stocked as California City is 20 minute drive by car. - MtnMutt
Apr 2006 - $60.00
This is a membership resort that allows use by non-members at higher prices. Beautifully landscaped throughout with many top-notch activities/amenities such as horseback riding, swimming, mini-golf, and a bartender who mixes great cocktails. I would have given a 10, but the sewer backed up on me. When I informed the front desk of this, I was told the same thing happened at the same site last week. They should have fixed it last week! - morganhillers

Mar 2018 - $50.00
We USED to LOVE Edwards - when it was run by experienced staff. Nowadays it's run by kids who don't camp. We pulled into a mostly empty park and found a spot. We got all step up and went to plug the RV in only to discover the electric box was locked so we hooked into the one next to us. We though about moving but my severely disabled husband was already exhausted and helping set up had taken the last bit of energy he had. I'm disabled too so was right there with him. The sign said to pay at the 'common area'. We walked around the bathrooms looking for a sign that said 'common area'. We asked base security, the commissary and anyone else we could find. No one knew where the common area was. We finally went to Outdoor Rec but were sent back to the park. We finally found a young woman sitting in the weight room watching tv and playing on her phone. We asked why the power was locked at our site and were told many of the sites had no power. She treated me like I was an idiot for not knowing that the weight room was the common area and that half the sites lacked power. We had to pay for both sites so it cost us $50 a night to stay there. While we were there, we warned several other campers who pulled in and started setting up about the power problems and helped them find working sites. We also had other campers knocking on our door asking where the 'common area' was so apparently we're not the only so-called clueless campers she had to deal with. Tips for Edwards to make this a decent place to stay again. 1). Call the 'common area' what it is or post a sign on the door saying 'common area'. 2). Accept RV site payments at Outdoor Rec again. 3) Post a sign at the partially closed sites that say 'No Electricity'. 4) Try to find people who actually camp to run the RV park because they would understand all of the above instead of rolling their eyes. - Travelfish
Dec 2017 - $20.00
My husband, retired AF Major, and I have been blessed to travel our beautiful country and stay, as often as we can, on military bases. I have to say Edwards FamCamp is an embarrassment to our military. About 1/2 of the have spots have locks on the electric boxes (a fellow camper said they are having electric problems) A helpful tip would be to post on the box OR just put the picnic table across the spot. We saw quite a few people, spending precious time driving spot to spot to find one that is operational. Second, the entire campground looks like it's in a third world country. Bathroom facilities filthy, trash full and no one has used a rake around here for months. And, it wouldn't surprise me that it's not making any money, since the phone is never answered and on-site there is NO paperwork available to self pay. Very disappointed. - 1965Streamline
Jul 2017 - $20.00
RVers beware, if you park in spots 11-20 you may not have enough power to run AC when hot. Circuit Breaker trips the whole line. Outdoor rec is aware of problem and they told me that they will block some of the sites which they did, however, an RVer moved the cone and parked there anyway. Was told by old camp host it was ok. Civil Engineering has also told outdoor rec not to use all spots on that line because circuit breaker over heats and could cause a fire. Reason for poor rating outdoor rec not doing their job. - Mark 100

Nov 2010 - $15.00
Dry camping perfect for running the bikes and buggies. Not very quiet, but worked well for us. Never used the restrooms. Only stayed one night and left for Dumont Dunes the next day. - wuwu2222
Nov 2009 - $15.00
Dry camping only. There are "sites" which have a fire pit, barbecue and a covered picnic table. Dirt bike, ATV and UHV riding heaven. Also a well known location for sailplanes, remote controlled planes and cars as well as time trials. Day use fees have gotten quite high at $15/day, $30/week. - MisoSoup
