17 RV Parks near Camp Connell, California
May 2017 - $44.00
This review is written as a member of a group of 14 rigs staying 3 nights at this RV park. The kitchen and club room facilities are excellent. The "group loop" is exclusive to the group. 50 amp was not available at our site as well as lack of sewer. Satellite coverage is obtainable in some spots. The dump station is near the park entrance and easily accessible. A lot of previous negative comments on this site are either non-existent or corrected. I would recommend this park to any group of 16 or less. - WindsorDave

Condition of the Park ranges from good to bad. Some of the trailers look like they are falling apart and need to be towed away while others are brand new. The bathroom and showers work but the water is luke warm at best and the pressure is terrible. Extremely slippery floors. Roads are in good condition, but with aggressive speed bumps all over the place. They weed whack fairly often so the weeds stay down.
Manager and Owner not pleasant or understanding. Made me feel inferior. Park has Loud Bass Booming Music, Loud Cars with Exhaust, Highway right next to it, and kids you don't know who get into your stuff and ask for stuff. Don't go here. - CornDog1982
Oct 2011 - $30.00
This is a pleasant park. The manager is very friendly and accommodating. Lots of long term residents but lots are kept clean and tidy. Surprised at the trees and shade. Pool is beautiful. Restrooms and showers are extremely clean. Keys are given out to the over nighters. The only complaint is some lots are parked next to three big propane dispensers. Kind of unnerving. - Snooker2
Dec 2018 - $40.00
Absolutely EXCELLENT in every way EXCEPT NO HEAT IN THE BATHROOMS Beautiful park, very well laid out. Very friendly staff. I had to mention the heat in the bathroom because it SNOWED while we were there. Asphalt roads froze. Heated pool was great. Club house was over the top. We already have reservations for next year. - SSM 46
Nov 2018 - $40.00
Very nice resort. No trouble getting my 43' fifth wheel in and around park. Stayed there for a Grand Design rally. Normal price is $65.00, prices going up after Jan. 1, 2019. Cable and wifi good. Had a package delivered while there, staff very helpful and accommodating. They pool and hot tub are very nice and clean. They have horseshoes and Bocci courts. Away from casino (have a shuttle) an easy walk and very quite. The park is very clean, after rally observed workers wiping down tables and pedistools. - MountainFolk

Fairly new park that is very clean. Landscaping is young so not much shade. Plenty of room for large rigs and good roads. - JZBack
Sep 2018 - $22.00
We stayed at the end of September in the Iron Horse campground. Most of the sites (75%) were empty save for a few boaters. The sites are mostly level and very deep (50-60 feet) and there are several pull-through sites. The camp host is very friendly and even offered free firewood. Weather was perfect (low 80s), little or no wind, and no bugs. A few sites have great views of New Melones Lake. Little or no shade anywhere, but not a problem this time of year. - M_i_k_e_y
Aug 2018 - $25.00
This is a beautiful and peaceful campground right on the lake. We dry camped here. It is nice if you're self contained. The bathrooms were not available and they had port-a-potties by the restrooms. The water is great for swimming, fishing and boating, although they did have a problem with leaches when we were there, so just something to be aware of. The rangers and camp host are really nice and helpful. Lots of wildlife and beautiful area in California with a convenient store/ gas station at main road and grocery store in Angels Camp couple miles down the road with Redbox rentals and other goodies. - Runluv
Apr 2018 - $22.00
Camped in 35' motorhome in site #55. Pros - - Super quiet - can only hear the osprey, turkeys and other wildlife - Our space was level and spacious - space between sites is more than generous - Amazing views of the lake and forested areas. - Camp Host is super helpful - he and his wife work hard to keep the sites clean and all new campers greeted and settled. - Very reasonable cost - Lots of wildlife - from the nearby osprey nest to turkeys, deer and lots of other birds. - Very convenient to Emmett's Pass and Columbia Historic State Park. Cons - - No hookups though water faucets are all over. We don't care as we are self-contained but some may want electric and/or water. - Gina A
Oct 2018 - $24.00
This park is a gem. We stayed here in late Sept and the CG was not very full. I can see where is would be crowded in summer as it sits right along the Cosumnes River. Take the Omo River exit off Hwy 88 and drive 15-20 min down to the CG. The road down is somewhat narrow could be tight in summer with other vehicles. The road into the CG is even more narrow, we did okay since there were no other vehicles around. The CG sites were a good size, some are more level than others. Very fine dust and lots of pine needles. We didn't have any problems with bugs or wasps, but it might have been the time of year. We had a 30 ft MH and we managed to get into our site without a problem. There is a paved walkway along the river with several "piers" built over the river, great for hanging out for the day. The CG says it has drinking water but when we are there their generator was down and there was no water in camp at all. No cell service, no wifi, pay phone in came doesn't take coins. Very nice place to camp especially if you are a tent camper or smaller RV. RV's 30 ft and under go off season. - RVingChick

Oct 2018 - $42.00
One of the best parks that I have been to. Site spacing is great for a commercial park; all level cement pads; full hookups plus cable; plenty of room to disconnect and park next to your trailer. All roads are paved. The park is spotlessly clean. The setting is beautiful. There are two in-ground hot tubs and a large in-ground and well-heated pool. There is a walking path around the entire campground. There is a 24 hour shuttle to take you to the casino. There's even free coffee, tea, and popcorn any time that the office is open. Oh, and the WiFi really works here! I did a speed test and got 43Mbps and not at 3am in the morning, either. For groups, they have a large clubhouse that can be reserved. - WineStream
Aug 2018 - $48.00
We stay here for one night. Perfect RV Park in all regards. Excellent customer service and staff. Excellent sites, every one. All level concrete pads with lush green grass on each side of the w-i-d-e sites. This place is part of a giant casino complex that includes restaurants, a hotel, golf, and many other amenities. Free shuttles cruise the RV park, and stop at your site if you are waiting to be picked up. They come by about every 20 minutes, and will take you whatever destination you'd like on the property. Wifi was excellent. Our satellite worked perfectly. I'm giving this place a 10, but 2 negatives (for me..probably not others). One, they force you to walk through the casino to get to the buffet restaurant. Two, once you get there, the food is only so-so. Lots of pizazz in the facility and how it "looks", but average cafeteria food. - therealSimpsons
Aug 2018 - $48.00
We enjoy this park, sites are level, spaced so you have some room on both sides and the back ins provide a view out if you have windows in the rear of your RV. Staff has always been more then helpful from providing local information to helping you extend your stay. The negative issue I have with the park is the nonrefundable $25.00 they charge. This is a busy park and you have to reserve well in advance especially if you want a Friday or Saturday night. Things happen, and to be charged for canceling your reservation with a few days notice or a months notice is not right, but it is a popular park and it must not be effecting their bottom line. We had to cancel a 4 night stay and gave them a weeks notice, too bad, so sad as it is all up front and explained when you reserve a night. This park is almost always full every time we have been there so cancelations must not create a loss of income to warrant a $25.00 penalty because you cancel well in advance of your reserved date. We will not be making reservations so far advanced in the future, if we can not get in there are other nice parks in the area. - 10-10
