The park is basically a parking lot, but with full hookups, proxmity to the city, and overlooking the ocean, it's hard to beat. Will come back!! - Danny Ryan
Aug 2019 - $120.00
Great RV park within a 20 minute drive to San Francisco, maybe 25 in traffic to Golden gate Park! One of the best RV parks to visit San Francisco with. Yes, the sites are very small. You're not setting up a campsite and a campfire. However you are very near the city, with a quiet Beach Town feel in Pacifica. You can also head south about 10 MI to the only Taco Bell with a waterfront view. Sites are clean, narrow, but mostly level, we only had to adjust our trailer a little bit to get it level. On many spots if you set your RV up correctly, you can get a small ocean view. - BeckFam
Jul 2019 - $95.00
Urban and expensive. A parking lot with spaces so narrow, barely room for slideouts and no room for awnings. No picnic tables or anything at spaces. Next to the freeway, and under the SFO airport takeoff path, so plenty of noise. The ocean is out there somewhere, beyond the double chain-link fences and the eroding cliff edge, but on July 18th, invisible in the cold, fog and wind. "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco." No WIFI in the parking lot, only in the laundry room. Pool was not open when we were there. Cover for services rusted in the salt air, but seem to work OK. Not IN San Francisco, 13 miles south. Stay here if there is no other choice in the area. - Big Sur Ridgewalker

"Location, location, location!" That's what we felt upon arriving here. It's simply gorgeous, with some drawbacks. Mentioned by others: the access road is narrow and winding, and the regime is a bit childish. Also the virtual absence of decent showers is not an advantage. Having said that I'm still enthousiastic: who'd dream of camping quietly & like royals in a eucalyptus campground, looking down upon a blue lake & wildlife while being so close to I580/SF? We camped here for one night in a 27" motorhome, had a level full hook-up site and enjoyed our last night in the US to the hilt. - Eisenga
Mar 2019 - $30.00
I arrived on a Tuesday and left Saturday morning. There were only a handful of occupied spaces while I was there. It does fill up on the weekends. I had no hook up, but there are a few spaces with full hookup. No generators are allowed. My solar panels worked great, even on the rainy days. Most of the spaces are spread out, paved, have a picnic table and a fire ring with grill. Warning about my site #43 and site #44 - the picnic table and fire ring sit about 8 feet below the asphalt pad, with a steep slope to get to it. I did not see this issue with the other sites. There are minimal bathrooms. There is a shower building, with 20 minute parking next to them with long term/overfill parking nearby. There are 70 miles of trails (hike, bike, horse), and dogs are allowed on most them. The campground is located in an eucalyptus grove. The road to the park is a narrow two lane road with many turns. Most of it is 25 m.p.h. Be careful of bicyclists, especially on the weekends. I recommend coming up from Castro Valley (off I-580) rather than from Oakland. It takes about 20 minutes to get to the campground from the edge of Castro Valley; convenient for getting gas, groceries, or going out to eat. It takes about 25-30 minutes to get to Oakland and then longer to find amenities. The gate closes at 10 p.m. You can leave, but you cannot get back in. There is a parking lot near the gate, so one could sleep in their car. It is a long walk to the campground. I liked this campground. It is within a couple hours drive for me. I like that it was nearly empty weekdays. I will check it out later this summer. - Tammara

Stayed here and used as base camp for day trips into SF. The park roads are tight, but ok if you take your time. The big issue I wanted to report for this park that may be a new rule: NO GENERATORS. That fact was a surprise and inconvenience. I chose a Dry campsite for 5 days without knowing... We'll have to use it sparingly ( temping fate ) as we can't go 5 days w/o some charge, esp. when we bring in the slideouts. Otherwise, we really like this place. - Mark D

Oct 2012 - $30.00
Extremely friendly staff. We were parked next door to the owners home. There are a lot of full timers and some of the units not to pretty. Having said that we never felt unsafe. This park is an oasis in the middle of a suburban neighborhood. Lots of pets around, but no green grass for their use. Our old dog did not have any trouble with using the blacktop but the younger dog would not use it. We had to go off grounds for her. It is a convenient place to park if you are going to visit San Francisco. The transit station is close by if you are smart enough to understand how to use it. I believe the way to visit San Francisco is to fly in, rent a hotel and transportation and leave the RV at home. If we were in the area again and needed to stay a night or two in the area, we would stay here again. - cubadoug
Oct 2012 - $30.00
This is not a "resort" type facility by any standard, but OK for a few nights visiting family in the area. The "daily" sites are toward the front, with the rest being long term residents. That being said, it was a quiet spot in an urban environment. There aren't many choices in the Bay Area, and this was fine for a few days. This place has been around for 75 years! Very helpful staff. - ronboett

I stayed at this mobile home park with my 36' motorhome in 2009 for about 6 months. It is clean and well cared for, management on site are very nice people. However, the owners are very stiff in any dealings and do not bend under any circumstances. They will allow 1(one) pet: cat or dog under 30 pounds. If you have 2 cats or dogs and they don't even add up to 30 pounds together, even they are not allowed. People have had to get rid of their pets if they live here. They have rules for every little thing. They are big sticklers about even the smallest thing. If you are human and could very possibly make an error, I would not suggest you come to this park. Even on a per night basis, if you have more than one pet you are not allowed. It is an $18 charge for your credit check, they have an application that asks questions that are, quite frankly none of their business. Motorhomes are to be started at least once a week and even starting them monthly or longer for your required 10-20 minute period is not allowed. If the electricity fails and it is winter time: Do NOT start your generator. It doesn't matter that it's cold and you have no heat. They came over at 10pm and said I had to turn it off. What??? One is not allowed heat? Not a place to stay if you are a person that some how has faults or actually plans to live life! - justme2
Nov 2009 - $40.00
This mobile home park was a disgrace. The owner did not allow very many things and the rent itself is over priced. The owner overcharges her patrons and refuses to let the owners sell their mobile homes. She changes the rules about every six months and a lot of the rules don't even make sense. I would also like to point out that the rules themselves are unfair. We will not be staying there again. I would not recommend this park to anyone unless they are very rich and very patient. - Rayvn

Sandev Mobile Park in San Leandro on the east side of the San Francisco bay is quite nice. It is mostly mobile homes but has some RV spots. All spots are clean, wide and well maintained. All sites are back in. They have wireless in the office area, and some sites can pick it up inside the RV. The place is remarkably quiet except for the occasional train, which run mostly in the daytime. IMO, it is much better than constant freeway noise. The place is cash only, $40 a night or $220 a week. I think it is a good deal if you want to go to places on the east side of the bay. The BART station is a couple miles away, and the Ferry from Alameda to SF is a nice ride. - Daveyjo

This park is horribly overpriced for the condition of the sites. Partial grass, uneven ground, roads in terrible shape. The only reason we stay here is that we attend an event at the fairgrounds. The brand new office and store building is very nice; the staff is friendly and helpful. Some money should be put into improving the sites, or reduce the rates to something more reasonable. - MarvMarvs

We have been here several times. There are very few RV parks in Alameda County, and I assume this place takes advantage of the fact by providing minimal services at high prices. The spaces are very tight and not well maintained. - DennisImbro

Have stayed here every year for the past 13 years. It is a bit of roughing it but it is doable. It would not take much for this to be a great RV Park. Just some leveling and upkeep. Grade is severe in some sites but fairly level in most. - icecreamman

A long, slow, steep and curvy road to the Juniper Campground near the top around 3,000 feet. Our trailer is 20 feet, which is just about the limit. Dry camping. Juniper is the only campground on Mount Diablo with showers. Contrary to the web site, the showers were operational in July 2009. Also no dump sites on the mountain. There is a campground (Live Oak) nearer the bottom at the south entrance out of Danville. It took us 40 minutes minimum to get up and down the mountain to Walnut Creek, North Gate. But it was worth it. The views down on the valley below are phenomenal, especially the sunsets. There are many, many trails to hike if you are in good shape. Bicyclers are always going up and down the main road (scary!). Not many critters to see though. If you want seclusion, great air, great views, don't mind dry-camping and don't have a big rig, this is a great place to decompress. See the web site for descriptions of the many other worthwhile places in the park. There are other campgrounds; Live Oak is at 1400 feet, with 22 sites, and an open area at the Junction Ranger Station has 6 sites. - User424

May 2019 - $45.00
Despite having a lot of issues, this campground is an excellent value in a prime location. It's not technically a campground; there are four spots reserved for RVs in a big parking lot right at the bay. You park alongside a curb, and there are picnic tables right there near the utilities, but they will be on the wrong side of your rig. Nevertheless, that gives you a nice view of the ocean out your passenger side windows. You can probably park backwards if you want the picnic area to be your front porch, but you might have trouble reaching the utilities that way. Even parked correctly, I needed an extension cord to get to the electric box. The electric connection is 20 amp, with a standard household type outlet, so you will need a plug adapter. The electric box itself opens sideways, rather than up and down, so the plug is not protected from the weather - I taped a plastic bag around it. The electric boxes are locked when you arrive, and you have to track down a ranger to open it. When I was there, this took several hours. The bathrooms are locked at night. The gate is also locked at night, at different times depending on the season - in the summer, it's 8pm. The airport is close by, so there is regular noise from that, but not much louder than the traffic noise from the 101. There were quite a few sand flies and gnats in the area. With all that being said, it is a pretty spot in a great location at a bargain rate for the area. A local bike trail which winds along the coast goes right through the park, and there is a golf course just at the park entrance. - KAP99
Oct 2016 - $52.00
Previous review I found accurate and helpful. I stayed here one night in late October and can add a few observations. The closing time of the park varies with the season, when I was there it was 5:00. The restrooms with the showers were locked at 4PM when I checked them out. I flagged down one of the workers who agreed to unlock them for me, but they said they would like to lock them by 5PM as they were leaving then. They told me they expected the RV's to be self contained and did not expect them to be using the restrooms. Showers worked good and were hot, but they are in a building with walls but no roof, so are basically outdoors as far as air temperature. Plane noise was plenty loud when I was there, but it didn't bother me, especially as I was there because of the closeness to the airport. Also you will have some distant highway and train noise but not too bad. There are not really typical campground spaces here, just at the back edge of an asphalt parking lot there are numbered picnic tables and utilities. The old lines for regular parking are still there, with no marking borders between 'campsites'. I think you will want to be here for the location, and with that will come noise and people. While the main gate on the road is closed in the evening the public can and does walk into the park after it is officially closed. All the staff in the park were very friendly and helpful and I would stay here again if I needed to be in the area. My cost was $45 plus a $7 reservation fee. - Wandering Dave
Jul 2016 - $45.00
This is an odd little park that's more of an experiment by San Mateo County Parks & Recreation. There are four (4) sites marked off along the edge of a parking lot with a 20 amp pedestal and a water spigot. The dump station is at the Sheriff's Shooting Range about 1/2 mile away and it could be a hassle to get in close when they're training.
First, the positives. It's right on the bay as in, if you fall out of bed, you might drown! It's very well patrolled and transients are gone by 8 PM. There are 3 "pull-in" sites but it would be sketchy if the other sites are occupied. The 4th site is a "back-in." The shower & bathroom facilities are shared with other park users such as wind surfers, kayakers, and paddle boarders. They are closed and locked by about 7 PM and don't open again until 7 AM.
There are some negatives for such picturesque "campsites." The spaces are all roughly east-west orientation with the utilities on the south side. However, most people tend to pull in facing east which puts the water and electric cord on the side of the RV away from the pedestals, which, since there aren't any signs, one can park whichever way one desires but it creates some interesting issues.
There are "rules" posted at each site but they're more like guidelines. All in all, one should chill and adopt a laissez-faire attitude while staying at Coyote Point. After all, this is San Francisco.
SFO is right across the bay but the jet noise wasn't noticeable due to the prevailing off shore winds. Speaking of winds, in July, it was "rockin' & rollin'" the motorhome in the afternoons and evenings. - LMandTinView

This park is old and doesn't look good on approach. It's not cheap either. But it's the only one anywhere near Menlo Park including going north or south on 101. The back area is really well maintained with very good hook ups, power pole is in good condition. But what really made our stay exceptional is the manager and her husband!
The first night we lost 12V power. It's amazing how dependent a coach is without it. We had 110 power. We called the office on Saturday morning to ask about a mobile repair. There's only one. They tried to get out but were just too busy and could come only on Monday. This manager gentleman, who has considerable RV service knowledge, came to us and diagnosed our problem. He spent at least two hours testing and another hour making a temporary fix. We would have been there a least 2-3 more days, stressed not knowing where the problem was. But he took his personal time to figure out the likely cause, allowing us to reach our destination and get repairs completed while not being in transit. THANK YOU! - Bobcat1

We have "kids" at Stanford and so have stayed here a handful of times. This trip, we are in the expensive, pull-through way back.......on the salt flat bay. It's quiet with a pretty nice view for being in the city. Bathrooms in the expensive seats are newer, high end and spotless. No complaints with sites. They've cleaned up the main resident's section that you drive through to access the rear for overnighters. Staff has turned over, and I miss the adorable older woman I used to interact with in the office. New staff not so sharp. Can't reserve on-line, rarely get through on phone, and took TWO days to return my call. The Wi-Fi is terrible. You get a coupon and, after going through a drill to "register," you might slowly get connected,.......but I never actually got service. I called the vendor's 800 # and, after a 10 min. wait, got some guy who didn't care and blamed it on the fact that the park's bandwidth is insufficient for the number of users (It was mid-day!!!!). Verizon Mi-Fi has rescued me, but I really feel abused to pay $95, and have no internet. If you don't need a pull-through you can probably save ~$15 a night, but you might want to try to get a key for the bathrooms in the back which are a big redeeming factor. - Diesel24J
Dec 2016 - $73.00
Alright folks, if you are coming here in an R.V. for a short stay you can't beat it. It has no picnic table, no fires, no club house, and some views; it is an urban R.V. park. You probably aren't planning on spending a lot of time in your rv. You've come here for some specific reason and not to go Glamping.
With that mindset this place is excellent. The sites level up very easily. The bathrooms, showers, and laundry rooms were spotless and are cleaned daily. The showers were fully heated and had plenty of hot water. All the folks I met were extremely friendly and helpful. The staff was on the ball and very pleasant.
As previously mentioned the short term sites are on the bay side of the park and ours had a great view of the bay and the surrounding mountains.
We did not try the park wifi but my Verizion Mifi worked great. Getting in and out of the sites was a dream and there was plenty of room for coach and the the toad. The utilities provided clean 50 amp power, and simple sewer hook up. ( if you find it draining your tank a bit slow loosen the cap on top of the island). There's cable hook up but we spent so little time in the coach we didn't hook up to it. We paid a bit less than $73 for a 7 day stay. The daily rate is $85. The front part of the park is for long term residents and the sites are clean and not cluttered with all the units I observed in very good condition.
We will stay here next time we come to the Bay area. - pumper9x9

The only good thing to say about this park is its proximity to downtown. This was our 3rd and last visit. Over a 7 year period, the owner has not made one noticeable improvement. In fact, it has gotten worst. The park is not big rig friendly. This was our first visit with our 40' and we had to try 3 sites before we were able to squeeze in between 2 backins. When we extended our full slide out, we were inches from the coaches on both sides. Parking is a real problem for tows. There are several long term units that are disgusting. They do not follow the rules pertaining to nose, working on vehicles, junk and walking pets. We even saw a rat around one of the end sites that was littered with junk. If you get stuck in the back, there is a construction company across the fence with lots of noise and dust. The park rule is to walk your dog outside the park. The walk outside the park is so littered with dog poop, we would not walk our dogs along the sidewalk. - Michael47
Jun 2017 - $99.00
On the up side, it's very close (a few miles) and about 30 minutes into SF. On the down side, sites are too close together (closer than any we have had in Key West), not long enough for a "big rig", all blacktop (no grass or shade). The place is right next to a construction site, right next to an abandoned park and right next to the defunct ball field. The price is outrageous for a place to park and sleep. And people live here. - NJPB
Jan 2017 - $99.00
It is a blacktop park. No grass or trees and the spaces are very tight. You have all you can do to squeeze between two other campers. There is not enough room for slide outs. No tables or fire pits. When it rains the lots flooded. Very expensive for what you get. No cable but wifi when you could get it in. - PWMW

Members only and if a member you already know these are the best people on Earth. It is an excellent location for visiting San Francisco and the surrounding area. There is also some dry camping spots I believe four of them and if it's full you can park around the perimeter. This was a very receptive lodge we took advantage of several things going on at the lodge due to the fact we were staying here because of our son having medical issues in the UCSF medical clinic. We were here seven days because we are self sufficient with electricity and water so we just dry camped for $10 a night . They do have a Gym here so there is showers available if need be. The secretary here, we got to know personally, very very nice lady; will do anything to help you out. We were here for a Sunday breakfast which was excellent - it was their purple pig fundraiser. There is 30 amp electrical which you will need a long cord; there is also water available at least have a 50 foot and possibly even longer water hose for water hook up. There is no sewer but there is a dump service that comes around weekly if need be for I want to say $65 . You cannot find any campground for less than $85-$100 a night around this area, trust me this is quiet nice and worked great for us coming and going. - monaco cruiser
