We've stayed here several times and really enjoyed it. We were sad to hear it was closing. So when we heard Sun Resorts had reopened it (at least temporarily) we made reservations. We chose a back in bay view site. These sites are a little tight side to side and neighbors are close but hedges between sites give some privacy. The hookups worked fine. The grounds are well kept. There's a narrow park between the property and bay. Nice for walking or riding a bike and it closes at 10:30 pm. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

This was our second visit to this park. Although it is pricey, it is very well maintained and always very clean. The night time security is a plus. The spots are concrete, and although a little close, there are tall plants separating to add a little privacy. There are quite a few long-term visitors, but there is not any "junk" to be found. We will stay again next Summer/ We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

About 100 feet from the water which was nice. 7 MPH speed limit not enforced, and certainly not observed by park staff. It was a nice park, just won't come back as too snobby for me. Staff not cognizant of what's going on around them, too busy on their phones to note campers around them or to greet us. NO WIFI. Are you serious? Nice pet area. I only stayed here as there was nothing else available. Nah, when back in SD, I will be looking at the KOA resort. Thanks, but no thanks. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Spaces are very close together. We stayed in a pull thru which had plenty of room for our 38' motorhome. We requested a site on the edge but without paying the "don't move me fee" we got moved to an inside site on the main driveway in and out of the park. They don't have wifi in the park. Short walk with easy access to the marina and the ocean side parks which was nice. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Bad news and good news. It's true that this park closed on February 1st. We were there for the last week. There are plans to build a convention center and hotel on this an adjacent properties. The good news is that apparently the developer isn't ready to go and a new owner will open the park again on March 4th for an indefinite period. That was announced at the "farewell party" the park held on the last night, Jan 31. Sun Communities plans to build a new park "Costa Vista" about a mile away that will be a combination of park models and overnight spaces. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This resort has for 35 years been one of the premier RV destinations in the South Bay of San Diego. We are currently at the resort and sadly learned yesterday that this resort will close on February 01, 2019. There is a new bay front hotel and convention center that is being built. Land clearing and construction has already begun in the immediate area. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We truly enjoyed this campground experience very much. The resort is super clean and extremely well maintained with nice flowers and exceptional surrounding. Every one seems to be a happy camper and enjoying the comforts and every one seems very friendly. The lot we had was not huge but it was just right and there was some nice bushes separating each lot giving great privacy as well. We had our dog with us and there was plenty of places to walk him. This resort attracts campers from all over the country we met lots of people that book year after year this facility since it is outstanding. In fact we would like to return there next summer! Overall Rating:

Chula Vista RV is the worst place we have stayed to date. This would be at the bottom of my list when visiting San Diego. The sites are narrow, short and don't fit our motorhome and tow vehicle as we were told it would. There are vehicles parked in the road that makes arrival and departures extremely difficult. The wifi and TV reception is spotty. The photos on their website are not accurate to what you will see once you arrive. Forget about getting in the pool or even finding a parking space. This entire resort is so overcrowded. Don't come here expecting to relax. The only accurate review online is about their landscape, yes its pretty. They claim to be dog friendly, but the dog areas are extremely small and contain artificial grass and dirt. Any real grass throughout the property has signs posted "NO DOGS" Luckily, we were able to park our car on the lot next to us as they had a class B and were kind enough to share their space. It was utter chaos the entire time we were there. I have plenty of photos to document this review. Be cautious walking at the beach behind the resort. There are large shards of glass and trash everywhere. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We love this RV resort! We've visited several times and each time we are greeted warmly and appreciatively with an eagerness to help! The entire resort is maintained so well and is always clean and pretty! The sites pretty spacious... I'm a long rig, so the length in my back-in site was a tad short. The pull through sites are spacious and long. Concrete pads make setup easy and relaxing outdoors comfortable. You're just 20 minutes or less from downtown San Diego. The park is situated at the marina and there's a good restaurant (The Galley) in walking distance. We highly recommend this RV resort! We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

We last stayed here with our grandkids almost 5 years ago. Midweek, during the summer, it was just 'too active' for us. Midweek, early May, it was much more my style. The resort, and it is that, has a variety of sites. Those that back up to the bay, also back up to a public access area that can get very noisy. There are some excellent pull-thru's that would allow motorhome views of the marina. We'll use these next fall. This time we used an offered discount to stay in back-ins along a side road. Noise was not an issue. Our previous stay with the grandkids utilized one of the interior back-in sites that put our 37' triple slide Class A way too close to our neighbors. As the reader can infer, a lot of different site options are available at this beautiful resort. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We planned to spend our 4oth wedding anniversary here. We had a nice dinner at the Galley restaurant at the marina. The nearby county park was great for walking our small dog. It was a bit of a challenge doing the mad dash to the gate to the marina for the dog to potty. They have small potty areas in the RV park but they are astro turf and my not usually fussy dog did not like the feel of it on her paws. The laundry area is very good and the most reasonably priced laundry of our entire four month trip. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Liked the Galley restaurant at the marina. Lots of places to take a pleasant walk. Loved Balboa Park, visited the Air and Space Museum and the Zoo. Had a very nice lunch at the Prado Restaurant in Balboa park. The weather was not all that good that day so we were able to dine without a reservation but it is often very busy so a reservation is a good idea.

No dirt or gravel anywhere in this nice park. It amazes me how they spend hundreds of thousands of dollars having all paved roads, and concrete gutters, and concrete pads, and beautiful lush landscaped flowers and bushes, and yet the WiFi only works from 11pm to 7am. If you try during the day, forget it! Someone needs to invent a way for RV parks to know if someone is streaming a video for more than 5 minutes, and shut them down. The park is right on the beach of San Diego Bay. My site was barely long enough for my 41' long 5th wheel, and I had to be creative to get my truck parked in front of it, and not be in the street. I would have given this park a 9 if the WiFi was good, and maybe even a 10 if the sites were longer and a little wider. We camped at Chula Vista RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the most beautiful RV Park we have ever visited . The grounds are landscaped with trees, hedges and flowers; and the staff works constantly to keep the flowerbeds pretty. We stayed in a bay-view site, with a view of the bay and access through a private gate to the bay-side park. Easy access to I-5, and about a five minute drive to the San Diego Trolley station. The tall hedges between the sites provide nice privacy. The interior roads are a bit tight, but once backed in the sights are spacious. We would definitely stay here again! This was a gorgeous park right by the bay. The amenities are top notch, and the area is excellent. The marina is adjacent, and there's a beach on the western border of the property. The area feels quite safe, though it's not necessarily close to the best parts of San Diego, which are by Little Italy and further north. The park is exceptionally well maintained, with beautiful landscaping. The staff is friendly and helpful. The park was very full, but there was ample space. I wish we had either an interior space or one that overlooked the beach or the marina, but otherwise I had no complaints. The weather was AMAZING, and we had an excellent experience.
