We were under mandatory evacuation orders due to the Mendocino Complex fires. Called the campground and spoke with one of the owners. She had sites suitable for our RV. We left Sun 29, 2018 and on the way the RV broke down. We added antifreeze and hobbled into the park but could not get the RV all the way into the space because it died and would not start. They were so gracious even though we were blocking part of the road. They found someone with a power truck which got us back into the space at no charge to us. Very gracious owners. I got on the phone to Good Sam and they could have a tow truck to us on Thursday and it would take the RV to Sacramento which was about 135 miles. Quite an experience. The park is rustic but clean and they are working on it with upgrades to WIFI and general park improvements. We would definitely stay here again when there is no smoke from the fires! We camped at Clear Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Super Walmart directly across Hwy 53 along with most of the Fast Food places. Cinema in town of Clearlake. Swimming, fishing, boat launch and canoe-kayak rentals along with a pool if you don't want to swim the lake. Wine tasting 10 to 20 miles and further for more.

Date of Stay: January, 2017 - $30.00
Overall Rating:

This park is right on Cache Creek with kayaks, a boat launch, decks right on the lake and lots of camping/RV spaces right on the lake. The owners are really friendly folk and the park is very well maintained. One of the family members who owns the park is really into vintage RVs so she has been buying up vintage travel trailers with the vision of converting them to overnight accommodations for those who don't have their own travel trailer. We've stayed in both the vintage travel trailers and, now, our own travel trailer. It's so nice to stay right on the lake and the sites are clean with all the power/water facilities working as they should. You can rent kayaks and rowboats right there if you choose. There is also a little park where you can sit under the trees on a beautiful lawn and watch the wildlife at play (this place is a birder's paradise). For those who wish, there is a swimming pool and their own little store offers ice cream, ice and fishing essentials. We've stayed here several times and always had a great time with first-rate service. We camped at Clear Lake Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There's also a Walmart literally less than a mile away along with several fast food joints. The town of Clearlake is right nearby with some quaint eateries along with a historic miniature golf course. Definitely go to Tatonkaland miniature golf course and, for those who love hiking or history, there is plenty of both in close-by towns. There's an 1890s school museum in Lower Lake (they'll even let you ring the bell!) and a vintage stage stop museum further away. Also, for hikers, Anderson Marsh offers great weekend hikes and over 200 kinds of birds fly through there during the course of a year. Of course fishing and boating on Clear Lake is a bonus as well.
