2 RV Parks near Coalinga, California
Jun 2019 - $45.00
We were driving South and reached the limit of our self-imposed driving limit. Almond Tree was the only game in the area. We considered boondocking but with the temps in the mid 90s... it seemed prudent to find plug ins. There is over 80 sites in this 'park' and 60 of those have permanent residence. The area around most of these do not meet the criteria on the sheet of rules I was provided at the night check in. All the signs in the office windows and on the door say OPEN but no one answered the knocks or bell ringing at 5:15PM. I live in CA and understand the water conservation we all need to practice but this place just looks sad. Pool was clean and well used. Harris Ranchhas the best meals in the area. - Bunnz588
Jun 2019 - $40.00
What a great park for an easy overnight stop half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles. Our site was the most level I have ever encountered and very easy to get into and out of while towing. This park has a large full time population but they are separate from the overnighters. - Rd yacht
Dec 2018 - $40.00
Strictly an overnight layover right off I-5 about 10 miles south of Harris Ranch. The campground is populated by a couple dozen permanents, who keep their area relatively clean, although there were lots of barking dogs kept in outside corrals. The sites are dirt/gravel and are ridiculously close together, neighbors FHU literally 3 feet from our front steps. Wouldn't be horrible as the transient side of the park was half full, but instead of placing people in every other, they cram every new arrival in adjacent sites. We stayed 2 nights so saw this phenomenon repeat. Pretty aggravating with sewer hose in front yard and no place to sit out due to neighbors with empty sites visible all around. There is a pool and dog run. WiFi exists but too slow to use. Bathhouse was clean and close. - Todd Hancock
Nov 2012 - $10.00
Dirt lot behind lodge. Hookups are adequate but several large rigs at the same time will make close quarters. Some small trees narrow the sites. Town is close by. The large bright glow to the northeast is a solar steam plant providing steam to the many oil wells nearby. It's well worth the 5 mile drive to see the set up. - Bucky Beaver
