$17 with Golden Age, no hookups, bathhouses with pay showers, dump station site 45 This park and campground just opened for the season when we drove in and it wasn't on reservations until the following weekend. There is another campground in this huge park on the beach but the roads are not paved. The roads in this campground need to be repaved - many potholes. Beautiful park with some stunning sites. Our site was a nice back in with two big Redwood Stumps in our site and we could hear the creek in the back. There are sites in this park right on the creek, a number of tent sites where you walk up steps to put pitch your tent, a few pull through sites and some good for small vans or just tents. Our 25ft RV is just at the peak size so that we could fit in the majority of the sites. This was a mill village located here decades ago before where they stripped cleaned the forest of the massive redwoods, so now it's just the new growth with some huge Redwoods Stumps. Everyone raves about the campsites here and there is a curvy road that leads into campground for about two miles. The road was an easy drive in. Recycle, trash bins and water spigots located all over the campground. The hosts claim that this park does fill up in the summer so reservations are recommended. We would return to this campground. This is a State Park financed by the Federal Government so the Golden Age Pass is accepted. A number of hiking trails in the park and only 6.8 miles from the nice town of Crescent City. It is located on the Redwood Highway in northern CA. We camped at Del Norte Redwoods State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed 4 nights and had a great time exploring! My kids loved finding the snails & banana slugs on all our hikes. Our site was a little difficult to get into with a trailer, but we managed with no real problems. The Redwood trees are amazing and are present all around us. We love to camp directly in the parks we're visiting so that we can take in a Ranger program or 2. Steep road in & out, but manageable. Would definitely stay again. Note that there is an $8 transaction fee if reserving online. We camped at Del Norte Redwoods State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this park overnight. It is VERY cute, nestled in the woods, with these cool sites for tent campers, that you take these steps up to a quaint little cove, that is like a hobbit home. Very easy to park big rig, with pull thru site. Mosquito's, but come prepared with bug spray, you are covered. Great family park, for walking dog! We camped here in a 36 ft 5th wheel We camped at Del Norte Redwoods State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

It was a very nice state campground. I feel a bit high priced for no hook-ups, but the sites were beautiful, with redwoods all around. You couldn't ask for nicer ambiance. We got to the campground after the kiosk was closed but our name and campsite was listed on a whiteboard on the door of the kiosk. We would stay there again. We camped at Del Norte Redwoods State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

Beautiful state park located just south of Crescent City in a canyon full of mature second growth redwoods. Sites are a little tight -- RV's with multiple slide-outs might have trouble fully deploying. Long drive in from US 101 (2.5 miles)has some interesting twists and grades but is do-able with care for even the big rigs. Dump station a bit antiquated but serviceable (take the left lane as it is level). Nearby beach at Crescent City (~5 miles) is very nice and dogs are welcome. We camped at Del Norte Redwoods State Park in a Travel Trailer.
