Good place to overnight between SoCal and Vegas but I wouldn't want to stay longer. Most sites are permanent residents. Lots of trucks starting up early as folks head to work. Adequate dog walking but no dog park. Site 53 is a pull thru that was just barely long enough (we are 65' hooked up). Utilities are oddly placed at extreme back of site so we just used power and water. Sewer would have been uphill, too, so didn't bother. I was sure we wouldn't get level but just did. Site was narrow and could have used a little brush trimming. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Good overnight spot relatively close to Los Angeles. Needed two boards in rear tires to level. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice and friendly staff greeted us. Lots are gravel and after asking for a 60 ft lot twice they put us in a lot that was barely long enough but the hook up was at the very rear of the lot which required us to unhook our toad to be able to back up for our hoses to reach (and we have the longest ones). We were trying to avoid unhooking the toad due to it being a quick stay. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice park located between I-15 and I-40. Lake is for fishing, no swimming. Has a pool but no spa. Access roads are wide and sites are spacious. Some sites need to be leveled a bit but back in sites 65 and 66 are nice. Very quiet. Bar/cafe at the front of the campground but we heard no noise from it. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Good for an overnight, or a couple of nights to unwind. Not much else in the area. Barstow is close enough if you need supplies. Verizon and AT&T both were excellent.

Just a one night stop on the way to Las Vegas, but worked well. Full hook-up, 50 amp, pull through on dirt / gravel, was fine for a night. Friendly check-in, people in park were nice. Had dinner at the on-site restaurant / bar for $8, what a deal. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

This is for the most part a trailer park of full-time residents, mostly well-kept but some rather seedy. The staff is nice. Sites are gravel, similar to the nearby Calico Campground. People are very quiet. The train woke us up all night. There's a cute lake here with ducks, and Peggy Sue's diner is right down the street. This is a fine place for one night. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

It was just an overnight stay with our 24' travel trailer and so it was fine. It is a gravel rv park with sites fairly close but some separation including some vegetation. The food at the bar on-site was excellent and the people were very nice. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was a good stop not too far off I-40. We just camped for one night, but it was exactly what we needed. The sites were fairly close together, but there was at least a little bit of shade - a real treat in this part of the world! This place isn't fancy, but it's not bad for a couple of nights. We would stay here again if we were in the area. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We did one night passing through. Sites are pull through and pretty level. WE did not use the internet. The bar and restaurant on site was a good way to avoid cooking on our first night on the road. The owner and his employees were very nice. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

These are all pull thru dirt/gravel sites. It's extremely quiet here. We felt safe here and we had our two young babies with us. There is a nice pool and a fishing pond. There are full time residents but they keep to themselves and keep the park clean. We'd stay again. It was a great stop for one night. Friendly staff. We didn't hear the train whistles except when we went outside. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

There is a bar and grill here that's supposedly really good. We didn't eat there and you cannot hear any noise from it. It's about a mile off the 15 freeway.

The pros: Daggett is a tiny town about 13 miles from Barstow. It is mountainous and has a beautiful, starry skyline. The reception desk was efficient and friendly. We felt safe here, even walking the dogs outside in the wee hours. Our site was a pull-thru. The cons: The campground is right near a very, very active train line. Train whistles blew all night. But for the train noise, this would be a fine place for more than a single night. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Get groceries in Barstow (Von's is near the freeway offramp). There is only a small convenience store in Daggett. The RV park has very basic supplies such as ice and soft drinks for sale in the office.

This park is good only for a one night pass-through. We had to roust a person out of their mobile home to find us a site. (I had called ahead to make reservations). Once rousted, I will say he tried to be helpful. The entire park is dirt and gravel. The sites were far from level. They were large enough for us to remain hooked up. The Wi-Fi was slow and the cable TV was very poor. There was dog waste everywhere, literally! We had a frozen water spigot in the morning. (We had unhooked our hoses to protect them from the cold.) We would only return to this place if there wasn't anything, anywhere else. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.

Owner/operators are a husband and wife team. We were greeted by the wife. She is wonderfully welcoming and accommodating. Unpaved interior roads and sites are large and easily negotiated. Picnic and walking area around shaded fishing lake is available to residents. Swimming pool is available to residents. Television is UHF reception only. Wi-Fi is fast. We experienced uneven electricity. Phone and cable TV are available at each site, but require service hook-up, and are not included in nightly rate. Park rules are not onerous, but are enforced. The park itself is not beautiful, but ok. It appears there are several permanent residents, which seems natural since the Yermo Marine Logistics Base is next door. There are a number of attractions nearby: Calico Ghost Town, Calico Early Man Archeological Site & Museum, Rainbow Basin, Mojave River Valley Museum, Inscription Canyon Petroglyph Site, Opal Mountain Rock Hounding Area, Mule Canyon Scenic Drive, Daggett Museum, Barstow Way Station, Goldstone Deep Space Tracking Center and Peggy Sue's 1950's Diner. We camped at Desert Springs RV Park in a Motorhome.
