There hasn't been a review here in a while for the TT Turtle Beach. We arrived here with low expectations after visiting another California TT that left us pretty disappointed. BUT we were impressed with the welcome we got from the front office that checked us in. Very informative, very pleasant. We chose a site (as it is the usual custom at a TT campground) in the section we were asked to be in. Our site was water and electric only. Electrical worked fine and water pressure was decent as well. Sites are spacious enough and we really enjoyed the quiet location (a few trains don't bother us). Wifi in the lounge worked great too! You are about 90 minutes away from San Francisco - quite a stretch, but a good home base nonetheless without the cramped campgrounds closer to SF. Gated entrance. Narrow and curvy road coming into the campground; don't despair, it is not a dead end street, you will see the TT sign at the last curb before entrance! - chantalcnrobw
Aug 2016 - $46.00
We stopped overnight, not using the amenities such as the lake.
Sites are first come first serve, we arrived late afternoon on a weekend and were stuck with a spot with no shade and lots of army ants, but at least we had a site with electrical.
Staff was not helpful when MapQuest left us stranded. - jkr

Enjoyed this park again, we have stayed here before and glad to see it kept up, to many parks seem to be going downhill these days. Congratulations to the management team.
Large spots plenty of shade good power and clean water! - Ray O

For Elks members only , very nice park eight pull through's possibly two more that exist but not sure, was told that if the area is full you can Boondock around the perimeter of the Elks Lodge parking as long as you're leaving early in the morning. I understand that as of January 1 2017 , rates are changing Modesto members $20 members at large $25 this is still a bargain since there is not too many options to park in or around Modesto. The access is simple off of Highway 99 very easy to get to definitely follow the instructions if heading east you will actually turn on Pentecost which dead ends into charity way which is kind of like a turnaround where the Elks Lodge is located . As far as the sites they are fairly level on a gravel dirt base which seem to drain real good they have a drywall out there for heavy winter rains but I'm thinking it could be a little dusty in the summertime not sure, winter time rain not a problem no mud exist. You are definitely in a rural area of North Modesto at this time not much out there so your experience is fairly quiet . The dump station is located as you are pulling out all on a asphalt area for a clean no mess experience, very nice, drainage and slope is excellent. The lodge is very nice updated has an excellent lounge and seems to be more in touch with the times then some of the other lodges we have visited. We will stop here again when in the area. - monaco cruiser
Mar 2019 - $35.00
Triangular grassy field with hookups along back treeline. Very old electric posts, no cable or wifi. Big sign with rules and check in procedures at park entrance. Very quiet except for the locomotive that barrels through every hour blowing his horn as if his life depended on it. It's the only RV park in town so, it's ok for one night passing thru. Would stay again if had to. Nightly rate a bit high for what you get, but again, it's this or the Walmart parking lot. - Fulsom Family
Apr 2018 - $25.00
It's not a destination resort so don't expect a pool, showers and a laundry. The sites are well spaced and mostly level . The park is kind of hard to find, even though it is just outside the fairgrounds front gate. The trains go by on a regular basis during the day, but the noise seems to end about 9 pm or so, thus it never bothered us when we were sleeping. - ultrastar28
Mar 2018 - $25.00
What a previous reviewer said... right alongside train tracks. At least 6 rolled by tooting their horns almost constantly in the 18 hours we'be been here so far. Great cell reception though--there's a tower right here too. Grass and dirt field, muddy when wet. Location can be tricky to find. Go by the address. Not well signed. Keep your eyes open. Better yet, camp elsewhere. Office closed and no host present when we rolled in so we just took a site which is the way it works at this first-come-first-served location. Hookups are dual serving adjacent sites. Our electrical pedestal was old and in a state of disrepair. All hookups at the back of sites so long or extended sewer hoses are needed and the drains are in the ground which may be uphill from where your hose first touches down. 30 amp and 20 amp service. No 50 amp. All sites are back-in. Cash only. Wouldn't stay here again unless desperate. - RussOnTheRoad
Oct 2013 - $25.00
This campground is off the beaten path . It was almost deserted this time of year. The reservoir makes the setting quite lovely. You can sit close to the water and watch the ibis try to catch fish. The weekend brings local families and fishermen. It is quite dusty but if you want a break from the crowds this is it. - Lee and Paul
Nov 2009 - $20.00
This is a great park for the price. We stayed here in the months of November and December. It was quiet and peaceful. It only has 30 amp service but that was sufficient during this time of year. Lots of fishing and easy access in and out of the park. - crownblackdiamond
Mar 2009 - $23.00
About 150 full hook-ups. Paved interior roads. Each site has a concrete pad for parking rig and pad for picnic table. Discounts offered for senior citizens, disabled and disabled veterans, the latter no cost. There was a torrential downpour when we arrived so there was lots of standing water in puddles. Very few campers at this time of the year, perhaps, 7-8 with several appearing to be there for lodging rather than recreation. Could be improved in my mind were the concrete pad connected to the paved road with asphalt, thus eliminating some of the muddy areas. Rest rooms nothing to get excited about with stainless steel fixtures. Several separate shower areas. Web site shows all things available, including water skiing. - artiemeek
Oct 2017 - $15.00
I had heard bad things about this campground because of noisy crowds and crowded conditions during the summer, however, the $15 senior rate, even for non-residents, and the fact it had full hookups for that rate caused me to give it a try for one night on my way to Yosemite. For positives, the sites were adequately spread out, and I was able to find an open site for satellite TV. Verizon signal was excellent for both voice and data. Sites and roads were paved and the place was only about 10% occupied on a weeknight. I was told that even weekends in fall and winter are not crowded because there is no swimming or water contact activities allowed on the lake during fall, winter, or spring. I came in without a reservation and basically had my pick of sites. For negatives, the power went out in the middle of the night, but it was a campground-wide event, not just my site. By the time I left at 9:00 am, the power company was already digging up and repairing the break. The biggest negative is that this place needs some grounds maintenance. There is nothing but dirt between sites--any grass or ground cover having been worn away by heavy usage. Leaves need to be raked, and trash raked and picked up. There were a lot of small things like bottle caps, smashed cans, and bits of paper and other things hiding underneath the leaves that blew around. You could tell the place had had a rough summer. However, I will still probably come back here occasionally when I am looking for a quiet place to rest for a few days. - judy_online
Sep 2016 - $15.00
This is the first time we stayed at Woodward since the "upgrades" to the RV sites. We camped on T-Island which is right on the lake. We have been camping here for 10+ years and this is the first time on the island as it didn't have full hookups before. Nice shady spots. We only camp during weekdays because of the chaos on the weekends.
Did not appreciate paying the service $8 for the privilige of making a reservation and did not appreciate the 4pm check in the hot part of the day. - JOE & DEE DEE
Jul 2016 - $15.00
RV here during the summer. We like to row. This year the reservoir is so low it's like the irrigation districts are draining it. This leaves the "beaches" slimmy and algae ridden :(. Nice park otherwise. - kdanzi
Apr 2015 - $30.00
This is a great campground at the right time of year if your rig is small. Many sites along the Stanislaus River in riparian forest. Trailer size limit is 21 ft. and motorhome limit is 24 ft. Lots of mature trees to provide shade but the area gets very hot in the summer. Pads are asphalt. - oldmac
Mar 2006 - $20.00
The campground, situated on the Tuolumne River, is part of the Turlock Lake SRA. At the time of our visit, we were the only motorhome in the park, aside from the campground hosts. Self-registeration was in process, though a very cordial Ranger came by later to check that everything was fine. About half the campground was closed down. We could see the river, about 100 feet away, from our space. Interior roads paved and RV spaces paved and level. Large trees throughout area. A very nice area to relax this time of the year for anyone not needing hookups. - artiemeek
Jan 2019 - $25.00
My husband and I stayed here as he travels with his job. The park has nice lots with light gravel and dirt. Nice dog parks although needed mowing. We were here 13 weeks and our lot never got mowed. The pool is broken, and we had no cable as advertised. I work from home and my job requires Internet. The internet does not work here as advertised. We had to purchase our own TV and internet. Amenities are not as advertised. The park is not taken care of and a scary place to stay. The long term tenants in the back appear to have junk all over their sites and broken awning hanging down from many rigs. Dead trees throughout the park w branches hanging down touching many motorhomes. This is not a Resort. Best of luck. - Daffodil
Jun 2018 - $41.00
This is another one that is a little bit higher price than what we're accustomed to. the people at the park were extremely helpful and very nice . The grounds were slightly graveled with a lot of dust. beautiful view of the river. The tree limbs are low, hitting on top of the RV unit although they were light branches so we were too concerned be nice if they could trim the trees so that they're not on top of your RV . - J and C Martin
Jun 2018 - $41.00
You won't be sending photos home! LoL But hey, it was a place for a one nighter! Lots of trees for shade. Lots of dusty roads with a splash of gravel. All the utilities worked and that to me is the most important. You will be with a lot of folks that live here permanently...probably working at the Foster Farms facility. - Full Timers 2
Nov 2017 - $45.00
This is not a RV Park for people on vacation. The people who stay here live here and they are not retirees. The bathrooms are probably 60 years old and have not been improved since. They were clean but you did not want to use them. The sites do not come with tables. I would suggest No one visit this place. - Cynthia2156
Mar 2019 - $22.00
The site has excellent facilities. However, BEWARE if you arrive after hours on a Friday night. We only stayed 1 night on our way back home. We arrive after hours and we did not know if we would be gone before the office opened the next day. There was no information on the envelope indicating that the Passport America discount was now available 7 days a week. Therefore, we put $42 cash in the envelope provided and inserted it in the mailbox slot. Since we were a little late leaving the next day, we went to the office to ask for our receipt. Unfortunately, the envelope had disappeared overnight and we had to pay again. - Chris and Sharlene
Feb 2019 - $24.00
Yea it's close to a highway and a bit noisy but for the value I'd come back (for a short stay). Park is clean, staff is friendly and a great value for the money! - Few Miles
Nov 2018 - $24.00
Easy access from the interstate and professional check in. Paved interior roads, level and long pull-thrus with convenient hookups. Cable TV was limited, adequate OTA channels, and no obstructions to satellites. Sites are close together, no table or grass. Verizon cell and Wi-Fi was strong, park Wi-Fi spotty. Significant noise from trucks due to the huge terminal in back of the park. OK for an overnight at the PA rate; wouldn't stay here at the full rate. - Meanderman
