Good paved roads and site pads. I was able to ride my bike. Because the park is built among the redwoods the utility hookups are not placed in usual spots. Great park, perfect location, helpful staffers. River view site (#32) overlooking San Lorenzo River. This park was built prior to big rigs...cars are parked everywhere. We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We took the steam-powered train through the redwood forest to the top of the mountain (round trip 90 minutes) on the Roaring Camp Railroad. Book this a day in advance. They were sold out when people showed up with no reservations. Awesome ride! Great food is available at Cowboy Bar & Grill toward Felton (1/2 mile away from park). Inside and patio dining.

We stayed around the 4th of July. We had a nice semi-secluded site near the back of the park. About the only one I could see, as all of the others are just one after another in a straight line. By and large the park was quite. Very close to Henry Cowell State Park and Roaring Camp. Easy drive to Santa Cruz. More of a jumping off site. Certainly would return for access to above mentioned attractions, if we could get same site! We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

This is not a big park, about 100 sites total and that includes about a dozen tent sites. The park does live up to it's name though, massive redwood trees, some 300' tall and thousands of years old are throughout the park. We had 5 in our site alone. We picked this park not only because it has full hook ups, but also because it has a variety of sites that can fit a rig 45' in some of the sites. The park is a bit short on amenities, no pool or spa, no workout room, and the playground is a basketball hoop, and a tether ball pole. There is a clubhouse with a pool table and an up-rite piano, and river access on the back of the park to the San Lorenzo River. The park is pet friendly, but there is no dedicated dog area. Many of the sites are pretty close together as they did their best to make as many spots as possible in a small park. Made reservation 4 months ago and was able to get us one of the nicest sites in the park. Our site, #62 would easily fit a 45' rig. The curb side of the site has the redwoods and a large buffer area to boot. Due to the giant redwoods satellite reception was impossible. There is cable TV here, 25 channels to be exact. Picture quality ranged from good to fair. WiFi was also free, but the ability of it to keep up with the demand was sketchy. There are two sets of restrooms, one set is handicapped accessible, the other is not due to small doors and a 6" step into the shower area. In spite of all this, I liked the park because of the ambiance provided by the giant trees and river flowing in the back. There is a steep slope to get down to the river that can be tricky. We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

We truly enjoyed our week-long stay at Santa Crux Redwoods RV Resort. The campground is clean and the staff is wonderful. Sites are spacious for CA and we loved the trees. The WiFi is excellent. We will definitely return! We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This is a great little park surrounded by Redwoods. Very shady. Everything was clean and well kept. The staff was very nice as well. It's pretty packed in but typical for a private park. Strong 50 amp FHU. Basic cable and they provided wifi but I didn't use it much as my hotspot was faster. Verizon (37mbps), ATT (21mbps) and T mobile (5mbps) all worked well w/out a booster.

The location can't be beat with about 15 minute drive to Santa Cruz. They had a laundromat onsite but I had too much laundry so I used Felton laundromat which was excellent. Follow the directions on the campground's website because Hwy9 is not RV friendly. We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Great shopping and grocery stores nearby. Downtown Santa Cruz is really nice as is the boardwalk.

There are multiple dog friendly beaches but you do have to do some research as they are not all dog friendly.

There is also a good state park right down the road with hiking trails.

We stayed for ten nights at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in our 40' fifth wheel. This is our second stay at this campground and we will continue to make it our base for visits to family in Santa Cruz. We had site 62, a large pull-through site that was easy to access. The campground is very well maintained and clean. It was fairly crowded on the weekends, with lots of children, but there were many empty sites during the week. The laundry room was clean ($1.25 each to wash and dry). Since the sites are surrounded by very tall redwood trees, we couldn't use our satellite but the campground cable was decent and provided 20 channels. There are eight wifi signals and the wifi worked OK, but not great, most of the time. Make sure to follow directions from website; you don't want to drive up highway 9 from Santa Cruz. Our only real complaint is the $20 per night charge for an extra vehicle, which we think is exorbitant. We could easily have fit our second vehicle on our site but, instead of paying an extra $200 for 10 nights, we parked our tow vehicle with family in Santa Cruz which was an inconvenience. We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

A really wonderful, special RV Park nestled in the redwoods. Nicely laid out, with very friendly staff and campers. A truly joyful campground. Very well laid out with FHU, excellent wifi and cable. A destination resort in a wonderful forested area. All the hookups were great. The getting into the site was a little tricky, but the neighbors helped to guide me in. Lots of kids having fun, and very much a family oriented resort. We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Park suggests a route to use to get here. DO NOT USE Rt. 9 from Santa Cruz. The suggestion to use Rt. 17 made the trip easy. Lots to do in Santa Cruz and in the parks around here. Beautiful and cool in the summer.

Reserved and confirmed 3 months later by phone our checklist, which includes 50 amp. Upon check-in, told, "yes, we have 50 amp, just not on your site". Then, told, "don't miss our breakfast, we serve at the clubhouse." Upon going to breakfast, find it is ala carte, they charge restaurant type rates. The facility here is very nice, great trees. Just make sure you ask a lot of questions and get the whole story. We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for 3 nights and this was our 5th or 6th stay here. Nicely spaced camping sites in the redwoods. Usually fairly quiet, lots of kids playing and riding bicycles in the streets. Easy trail to get down to the river, but trail has not been maintained. The one restroom can get busy. The dumpsters are usually full. We arrived early and paid the additional $20 fee for early check in. We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Just got home from staying there 6 nights. Had a site with a nice view of river below so it cost more but really enjoyed it. The location in redwoods is great and your close to the community of Felton. Most of the sites appear pretty close and a few hard to get into, but part of this is because of all the trees. Sites are not level so if in a travel trailer bring the leveling blocks. Found the TV reception and internet very good. The only issue I had was the number of people out with dogs, by RV or walking them not on a leash. They all seemed well behaved but it did bother us some. Really enjoyed the area and this park. Will definitely go back. We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Santa Cruz is close and nice to go out on pier and enjoy a meal at one of its many restaurants with a view looking out over ocean. Also the small community of Felton just a couple miles up the road so if you need some supplies they are close.

Beautiful setting in giant redwoods, about 15 minutes from Santa Cruz. As they say on their website, DO NOT drive up Hwy 9 especially from Santa Cruz, use Hwy 17 to Scotts Valley, then over to Felton and 1 mile south to park. Staff very friendly and helpful. Sites are very close together but doable in our 35 foot rig, many are not level. Big signs that 9:30 pm is quiet time and they enforce it! Some Verizon reception but no T-Mobile. Have free WiFi, but often cuts out. Fire rings are available for extra rent. We would stay again. We camped at Santa Cruz Redwoods RV Resort in a Motorhome.
