This was my Yosemite backup. When you can't get a campsite at Yosemite, you get one at Idyllwild. This campground was really good. I was able to get a really large campsite (Site 93) with plenty of room for our outdoor stuff. The map shows it as a back-in, but I got there and was able to pull through. There are decent hiking trails with trailheads extremely nearby, and the trails allow dogs. We were able to ride our bikes to the local town; we happened to be there for the Easter Egg hunt. The campsites are fairly un-level and they're marked a little haphazardly. There were community water spigots all over the place, but they were frozen for one of the mornings we were there--thawed later that afternoon. Campsites include a fire-ring/grill and a picnic table. Most of the campsites are for tents but there is a section at one end dedicated to RVs. I didn't see any Class A's. The interior roads are a little tight for big rigs. No dump station. Overall it was a quiet weekend getaway that we all really enjoyed and would happily do again. We camped at Idyllwild County Park in a Travel Trailer.

My rate was $20 plus a $7 reservation fee. This was a nice cool place to camp out of the heat of the valley below. I wish I could spend more time up here. Do not expect level sites like you would find in an RV park. Many of these sites are designed for tents, but you can get an RV in there. There are two buildings with showers, one at the very front of the campground (near the day use parking lot), and one near the middle of the campground. My campsite was at the very back of the campground, and at my site Verizon service was poor, so your mileage may vary. I would stay here again. We camped at Idyllwild County Park in a Travel Trailer.

Rate reflects Passport America. Most of campground was closed when I was there. I was in a paved level site near the entrance of the campground. I walked campground and some sites towards the end turnaround loop also looked suitable for smaller RVs (I have 25' C). Good Verizon signal. Walking distance to town and restaurants. Mixed forest with pine trees in campground, very pretty. Friendly helpful campground host. We camped at Idyllwild County Park in a Motorhome.

A nice campground operated by Riverside County. Easy walk into the town of Idyllwild to restaurants or shopping. Not to be confused with Idyllwild State Park, which is nearby. The elevation is about 5200 feet, so only about five sites open in the winter months. We camped at Idyllwild County Park in a Truck Camper.
