This RV/campground is all sand, with no grass or gravel to be seen. However, there was not a lot of dust blowing, which was surprising considering all the sand. It does have a lake with various plant life and greenery surrounding it, as well as many ducks. Our spot was very spacious, with a picnic table, fire ring, and full, semi-tall hedges providing privacy. Also plenty of space to park our SUV. All in all this is a good place to stay for a few nights (or maybe longer), although I wouldn't do that mid-summer since it would be very hot. Joshua Tree National Park is a great place to go hiking and rappelling (if that's your thing). The rock formations and vegetation are really very beautiful and different. Just don't go in the summer, when temps can reach 115 and more. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice and quiet RV Park. We stayed in Pull through site. The ground is covered with sand. It was not windy when we were there, so no blowing sand. There are bushes on both sides for privacy. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The campground is located about 6 miles from Hwy 62. We would stay there again if we camp in Joshua Tree. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

The whole place is a big sand pit, but it's hard sand, so leveling was easy, even though the site wasn't level. They charge $2.50 per dog & it seems to encourage people to leave their dog's waste behind. I've never seen so much dog poo. I've also never had to pay extra for my dog. But the biggest complaint is that they only have ONE dump station. And no sewer hook-ups. So you have to wait in line on the day you leave. The bathrooms are separate from the shower rooms. Clean, but dated. It's a quiet park, but I wouldn't go back. Check-in took a while because the receptionist was on the phone with a customer. Sites are fairly private, with tall hedges between sites. Some sites are twice as big as others. We have a big rig, but we were given a small site. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Far off the beaten path and weekend crowds but very much a desert park-lots of sand and dust. My site was very sandy, making leveling my trailer a necessary task. Most spaces are fairly wide and well-screened by tall bushes that provide privacy from next-door neighbors. If you arrive after dark as a first-time guest and expect a challenge in finding your way around the park. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tried to make online same-day reservation. Website said space may be available and to call office. Tried calling office directly twice but calls weren't returned. It was dark so I took a chance and drove out to the park. Office staff was very friendly and welcoming and got me in a wide pull-thru rather than narrower, shorter back-in that also was open. Considering how dark the campground is, I was a happy camper.

We arrived here in a horrendous wind storm and had a problem with our rear stabilzers. We ended up having to leave as we could not get them down. The mgmt was very accomodating and gave us a full refund and sent us to a RV repair shop that was able to repair the problem in a very timely fashion. So we returned to the RV park and got settled. The sites are huge and easy to get into. Might be a bit tricky to get level but you can do it. The RV park is located quite a way off the main drag, but once you get there and get set up, it is so quiet and peaceful. The only noise we heard were the birds chirping. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The rate was $30 per night, plus $1 per night for our dog. The campground is big rig friendly, easy in/out, although there are a couple of humps at various places where you may need to be more attentive. The campground is a large sandy lot and the wind really blew when we were there. Many of the sites in the park are not level, but the office staff worked with us to find a site that would work for our rig. We parked with our electric and water hook up on the passenger side since that made it easier for leveling. We had intended to stay only two days, but extended our stay for five more days. Sites have water and electric. There is a dump station on site. Sites are separated by various types of trees/shrubbery. Showers are in a separate building from the bathrooms. Showers were clean each time I used them. The only issue we had while staying there was that my iPhone 5s would not receive or send calls. I could send and receive text messages and email, just couldn't make or receive calls. My husband's iPhone 6 was fine. When we mentioned this at the office, they said they were aware of the issue with the 5s. Our carrier is Verizon. There is plenty of space to walk pets in the park or just outside the park, and there are places to hike. We would stay again if passing through the area. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Motorhome.

I had a great experience when camping here event though it was just for one night. The large grounds were very pretty with green areas. The staff was very friendly. However we had strong wind and camping was not advised, so I was forced to sleep in my car as many other campers. The restroom was clean. Did not use shower though. The price was reasonable. The only downsize was that this campground was about 9 miles away from the entrance to the Joshua Tree national park seemingly in the middle of nowhere. 9 miles was too far for me to commute daily, so decided to stay only one night. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Tent.

Joshua Tree Lake RV Park We think we have found a gem of an RV park. Many people will disagree because there are no paved roads or green grass. We were going to dry camp at Joshua Tree National Park but it is cold in the winter. So I looked for a campground with hookups. They have water and electricity and a dump station. There are clean bathrooms and showers and port-a-potties for some tenters. The sites are very large and divided by bushes. There are acres for tenters and RV dry camping. There is a lake full of fish and all kinds birds. The Campground is 5 miles off the highway and out of town and near the mountains so it is quiet and you can see the stars. An astronomy group leases part of the property for star gazing gatherings twice a year. The manager is very friendly. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Park was very well located to visit all the attractions around Palm Springs. At 5 miles from Route 62, it was very quiet and very dark at night. We did not use the pay for WiFi through Mojo Hotspot, instead checking in at the National Park visitor centers. Leveling took a little more effort but was not a problem. The park was not full by any means but the limited bathroom/shower facilities could get really busy if the park is full. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Easy access to either the Joshua Tree or 29 Palms entrances to Joshua Tree National Park. The George S. Patton museum is just east of Indio at Chiriaco Summit if you like history. The Shields Date farm in Indio has 30 kinds of dates and a wild variety of free samples and date treats for sale. The Palm Springs Air Museum should not be missed if you like vintage aircraft and history - and a lot of the old birds still fly! Of course Joshua Tree National Park with many opportunities.

Friendly and efficient staff, clean, large sites AND quiet! Lots of room to walk my service dog. All sites are separated by mature oleander. A "pay to fish" lake that put out a 25# catfish this fall! Great place and you can even get pizza delivered if you've had a long day of hiking and climbing at the national park. We camped at Joshua Tree Lake RV & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

It's the desert but nice enough if you want to be in the area. It is way off the highway so very quiet. The sites are sand with some bushes in between and a couple of trees here and there. The little fishing lake is cute - we didn't fish. You can occasionally get a cell phone signal (Verizon) and texting worked sporadically. They have a WiFi provider that you have to pay for, but it didn't work very well - very slow and even sporadic. It was through MoJo Hotspot. They must know that it doesn't always work because they are very quick to give you a refund - no questions asked.
Restrooms are good and clean. Showers good and clean and free. Only one dump so if you are leaving when everyone else is - there will be a line. There is a large tent camping area that fills up on the weekends. There didn't seem to be anyone going around to check on things but we didn't have any problems.
We were able to get a good satellite signal - it is the desert after all.
If you are going to be in this area - it is the best private option. We did not check out the RV sites in Joshua Tree National Park - but that would be dry camping.
Some sites have fire rings and some even have a picnic table. We
