Easy to find the office if you just follow the signs. The staff made us feel very welcome. We appreciate that we had an escort to our site. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

What a great find! This is a "dark sky" park. They even have a telescope for viewing the stars. Also at no charge: bicycles and helmets, bocce balls, and horseshoes. Kayaks and paddleboards for use at a lake up in the mountains; golf clubs free to borrow to play golf! A cafe for breakfast and lunch in the clubhouse. Everything is homemade. They even grind the beef for the hamburgers! Had homemade potato salad. Everything was good.

Park is located a mile or two off Hwy 395 but is easy in and out. Golf course on park property. Pull thru site # 1 was pretty level and all gravel didn't have to unhook, and very close to restrooms & laundry room. Very nice campground with restaurant on site. Only complaint is No Internet except at Club House or Laundry Room and so our grand daughters wanted no part of this park. If it was just me and the wife there would be no issues staying here. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Likely Place RV and Golf is located a couple miles off of Hwy 395, in the northeast corner of California. It is the place to go if you like cool, quiet darkness for sleeping or stargazing. Golfing right at the campground is an unusual bonus. We walked on the nature trail that is on the property. Full 50 amp hookups on our long pull-through site which was mostly level. Roads in the park are wide and paved, sites are gravel. The check-in office is towards the back of the property at the golf clubhouse, but this is well marked. Very nice campground. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

DO NOT STAY HERE! Drove 200 miles to stay here after reading good reviews. Upon arrival could not find the office but at entrance was night registration! Since we couldn't find a person or office we followed the instructions filled out paperwork & deposited in slot. Desolate place no trees sites all in full sun ! We picked one & did all hookups when a man drives up in a golf cart yelling we had to move that site was reserved! He was the rudest, angriest man we have had the misfortune to encounter! We explained we didn't see an office so followed instructions at night registration! We told him we would move but nothing would stop his rude behavior! The spot we were in was no different than any of the other 35 empty sites but we agreed to move. The back in sites the connections for water, electric, etc. are located at front left of the site! Unreachable without extra hose & electrical cord! Very poorly planned! After his rude & angry behavior decided against staying there & pulled out despite already paying for site & are having to drive another hour & half for a spot! There is no reason that would justify his behavior! If we made a mistake, we apologized & agreed to move no need for anger & rudeness! I will also be posting this review on my other camping sites & filing a complaint! Can't recommend this place this guy is liable to go postal on some innocent camper! Many sites hookups at front left corner can't reach without extension on electrical & water! We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

We've always stayed outside Susanville on our 'snowbird' trek home. This year we chose this park based on an enthusiastic recommendation by a fellow RV'er who guaranteed we would love it even if we didn't golf. Boy was he right. This place is a gem. Manicured grounds, views too beautiful for words, as peaceful as it gets, starry, starry skies and all at a very affordable price. In addition to the large pull through's all the way down to tent sites with power pedestals with all kinds of kids play equipment, they offer two areas that have center gazebo's surrounded by expansive lawn equipped with cooking facilities and fire pits with room for multiple RV's around the perimeter. Perfect for families & groups, especially golfers. Lots of trails including hikes to waterfalls and lakes. Next year we will stay longer and get the most out of what this place, in the middle of nowhere, has to offer. Alturas, the closest town, is 18 miles north of Likely. The water pressure is high, so use a regulator. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Great spot out in the middle of nowhere so you don't have trains, hiways, or planes. Site was gravel P-T with grass for the dog. Only minor negative was the sewer and electric were up front, rather than in rear. Pretty covered deck outside the café, overlooking the golf course. Nice place for coffee and breakfast with relaxing view. Lots of stars w/o city light interference and a great night's sleep! We'll go back. Nicely arranged RV park with easy in/out pull thru spaces and back ins. Club house/office also has a restaurant breakfast/lunch. Off the beaten path, easy to find - BIG sign in Likely. No traffic noise, very private, beautiful country. Good parking for check-in, good map to sites. Only stayed one night, will come back for a longer visit next time. Tips for other Campers:

At check-in you get a great brochure with lots of interesting places to visit. Many are close by, others are more of a day trip. Quiet, clean, a very comfortable RV park. Small store in Likely has a good selection but major grocery shopping would be in Alturas, 30 minutes away.

What a gem! Big rig friendly spaces.. Sites were spacious. and gravel with big trees and a picnic table. Very easy to navigate our 43 ft fifthwheel and long bed F350 Dually. Site is plenty big enough to accommodate both our RV and truck. We had No ATT cell service but good Verizon MIFI Hotspot and satellite. Plugged address into GPS and drove right to it. Lovely mountain views. They had a telescope in the office that you could borrow to star gaze. This is a star gazers paradise with a grass meadow set up with concrete pads for RV'ers telescopes. They have a lovely grass meadow with telescope pads set up for folks. We are told the 18 hole golf course is excellent. The on-site grill is open for lunch and breakfast. We ate lunch there two days and found the food to be good. The nature trail is a very nice walk right around the RV park with a printed trail guide, great views and benchs to stop and rest. Staff and visitors are all so nice and friendly. We will definitely visit here again. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We loved this park. The Pros: It is a long way from any population center, but the drive was very nice, the roads good and the park itself is a gem! Our spot looked out on hundreds of acres of undeveloped Western Juniper forest, mountains, and interesting rock formations. The interior roads and parking areas are well graveled and the sites are pretty level. Each site is provided with a larger than most grassy area between the sites. The restrooms and showers were clean. Resort amenities include an 18 hole golf course (including golf carts and a driving range), and a small restaurant that is open for breakfast and lunch. At the restaurant, there is both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is on a very nice deck that overlooks the golf course. Other amenities include Bocce Ball, two trails within the park, a small lake and kayaking. Likely at night is one of the darkest places in the US. The 3 days we stayed coincided with the annual Stargazers rally. The stargazers set up in an area just below the RVs and welcomed all of us to come and look through their high quality telescopes to see stars and planets in a view seldom seen anywhere else. Stepping outside of our RV at night was so beautiful with stars brighter than I have seen them in a long time and the milky way clearly visible. Through the telescopes, the views were breathtaking. The Cons: While we loved this park, there are always areas in which a park could improve. Here it was the wi-fi and cable. No cable was provided. Not too surprising so far from population centers, the wi-fi never worked at the campsite, although it sometimes worked at the clubhouse. This was not too much a problem for Verizon cell phone users as they could use their hot-spots from their RVs. Not the Resort's problem, but without wi-fi, we ATT users had no reception any place in the resort and thus could not activate our hotspots. Overall: This was a great RV park and we would love to come back next summer! We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

If you take highway 395 north out of Susanville, the landscape is uninteresting for the first 20 miles. Don't give up - it becomes absolutely beautiful after that, all the way to the park. Going north, if you need groceries or gas, get it in Susanville before you leave. Coming south, get groceries and gas up at Alturas.

I feel a little odd about this review. We have stayed here before and liked it a lot. The scenery is great. The sites are large. It is very quiet. The wildlife is plentiful. However when we arrived on Monday afternoon at about 3 PM there was nobody around. The pro shop and restaurant were closed. The check in is at the night check in station. The WiFi would not support my email, My wife could not get the codes to work on the bathroom or the laundry room and the weather forecast is for lows in the 20s so we could not leave the water hooked up. In essence we paid $32 dollars for a 50 amp service and some nice scenery. That said we would stay here again just not in this kind of weather. We camped at Likely Place RV & Golf Resort in a Motorhome.

What an absolute gem! Stopped along our route from Lk Tahoe headed to Crater Lake. The golf course is great to play. Restaurant prep'd a nice home cooked breakfast for us before playing. Sites have plenty of room with grass surrounding your gravel site. Nice views of the nearby mountain range. Peaceful with not much around the area.
